I'm very pale, with dark brown hair, what colors of clothes/makeup, do you think would work well for me?

Have you ever heard of color me beautiful? It's been around for a while and they're claim to fame is figuring out which colors look best on you. They divide colors into 4 groups named after seasons. Your hair, skin and eyes determine what season you are, and which colors look best on you. A lot of people swear by this system. They have books and things all about making the most of your coloring but for a quick answer you can go to their website and take the little quiz thing to determine your season just based on your hair color. It's less about how dark your skin is and more about whether it has cool or warm undertones... so I can narrow your season down to either winter or autumn but I don't know which it is without seeing you.

I need to get great color and highlights from an at home treatment. Any advice?

I love Garnier's range. They do a multi-lights kit which is a great way to do your own highlights - it's easy, very cheap, and looks beautiful.

They also have a great range of normal hair colours which you can use before highlighting. The nutrisse range is great if you have dry hair, otherwise belle color is ace.
