im 13 and im really shy and self conscience about the way i look, act, do, all that. like im scared about how people will judge me and what they will think of me. im going into 8th grade and i want to make more friends during 8th grade :0 but im so shy and i want to be outgoing! please help :) thank you :)

Answer
Girl , I made that exact some transformation going into 8th grade :D .

It all starts with appearence . I know that sounds a little shallow , but it's true . If you are confident i the way you look , it'll make it A LOT easier for you to be outgoing because you're gonna want people to look at you & notice you !

First , go into your 8th grade year looking completely changed . Do something drastic to yourself ( not ridiculous , just trendy ) . Like , what I did was start wearing darker makeup , I lost a lot of weight , I dyed the under layer of my naturally blonde hair , a darkdark brown , & I redid my wardrobe with clothes that were more trendy . Just remember though , don't lose yourself in the appearence . Basically , make a trendy style for yourself that you feel good in ( not what other people are wearing ) .

When you make changes like that & walk into school , it surprises everyone & more people will talk to you just to see what's up with all the changes you made . & This is a great way to start on making some new friends .

The being outgoing part is made easier by your changes in appearence , but the actual being outgoing thing , you're gonna have to force yourself to do in the beginning . Like , just start starting conversations with people , etc . At first , it's gonna be a little awkward because you're not used to it , but 8th grade is honestly a great time to do the guess & check method . Even if it doesn't work out well , it's okay , because next year , you'll be in high school with a completely new set of people for you to talk to , so you can find out what works with people this year & use it next year .

Shyness is all in your head . Just smile a lot & laugh a lot & make yourself look approachable , because then , people will automatically be drawn towards you . Everyone loves a happy person . Once people come to you , just be yourself ! Talk about things you like , etc . Not everyone is gonna wanna be your best friend , but everyone's gonna respect you for being so confident .

It is really possible . I have so many friends now & I still act like myself . :)

GOOD LUCK:) .

How would you describe my style?

Kara

Just curious, I saw a question like this a thought it'd be interesting.

I wear long, straight brown hair with side bangs. No makeup, excluding tinted chapstick sometimes.

I usually wear jeans, sometimes with a pattern, like the dye short jeans, or grey cheetah print jeans.
I'll sometimes wear leggings with a longer shirt.

For shirts, it could be anything from a simple black tank top with a denim jacket, or to a white shirt with a band shirt with rips. I like band shirts and an unbuttoned plaid shirt alot. Also a simple neon colored shirt with a leather or denim jacket.
I rarely will wear a tee shirt with a saying or something.

The stores I shop at most are Forever 21, H&M, Aeropostale(mostly for cheap jeans), Hot Topic, GoodWill, Marshalls, Claires, and on rare occasions, Delias.

I really like Converse, combat boots, Uggs are pretty cool, anything from Journeys is alright too.

I have a lot of black, but not an insane amount of black, neon colors, grays, and royal blue, rich purple, medium green, and a lot of white too.

For accessories, I tend to go overboard with bracelets and earrings, and I usually have on a necklace. My favorite necklace is a heart with two wings and another favorite is a iron knuckle. I have seven ear piercings, three on the left and four on the right. I currently have on 16 bracelets, and that's not a lot for me. It's usually around twenty five, but it's not like the ginormous ones, it's like hair ties and woven ones and soda can tabs. I have a watch and one giant one that says legit.

How would you describe my style? Like a label. I'm a 13 year old girl.
Oh, I forgot two stores...
Zumiez
PacSun
And I don't really follow trends. At all.

Answer
Natural but trendy

I want to dress 50s style (not a costume, but my wardrobe), but my hair is short and I don't look good with long hair. What was the short hairstyle in the 50's?

Thanks.

Answer
i am a massive 1950's fan. (check out my avatar). the up-turned bob was popular, but if your hair is too short to do a bob with then just try a slight perm with pink leather jackets. watch the movie 'grease' (john travolta & olivia newton john) for some great 50's looks.

hope this helps :)

I'm 15 male and I have longer blonde hair and I have always had the same hair style. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Thanks. (^.^)
thanks guys (or should i say girls), i don't want to cut it, just different ways to style it. (:

Answer
Do you want to keep it long, or cut it shorter? There aren't that many different styles for "long hair" besides simply parting it different or perhaps using product.

Mostly the best haircut depends on your face type. Once you find this it will be easier to find a suitable hairstyle.

What hair style would suit a male with a large forehead and large-ish nose?

Kevin S

Would a long / medium hair style be better which hangs down like curtains or a shortish style like spiked?

Answer
you should go for the medium to long shaggy cut that's popular right now. It will hide the forehead and focus attention up and away from the nose. The large nose will look more prominent with a shorter style I think.

How often should I wash my hair, girls?

Hana Taylo

Okay my hair is fine and frizzy. I have wavy hair type. I wash it every day due to the fact I mouse it every day. How often should I wash it? Also I do soccer two days in a row, so should I wash it those 2 days in a row and then wait another day or so to wash it?

Answer
Personally, I was always taught to wash my hair every day. Over the years, however, Iâve learned that daily washing really dries my hair out.

These days, because I get highlights and my hair is damaged, I only shampoo 3 or 4 times a week. This has definitely helped my hair a lot: itâs much less dried out without the constant shampooing and blow drying.

Celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, who does Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpsonâs hair, agrees that you shouldnât wash your hair every day. According to Oprah.com, Ken says that âcertain hair types and textures only require washing once a week, where others work well washing 2 to 3 times a week.â

Thursdayâs New York Times style section had an article about hair washing frequency, only to the extreme. Of Course I Washed My Hair Last Year (Iâm Almost Certain) talked about how lots of women wash their hair just once a week and some only wash once a month! Apparently itâs trendy to spend less time on your hair.

As someone whose hair gets oily after just a few days, I canât imagine only washing your hair once a month, but maybe it would work well for those with dry hair? The idea does sound tempting â who wouldnât want to spend less time doing their hair each week? I just donât know how it would really work for the average woman.

your question inspired me to post this on my blog here's what other people responded to my article:
Lindsay

I always wash my hair every day becasue it gets sooo greasy! If I dont wash it I just hate the way it looks. Any tips to make your hair less greasy?

kendra

well it really does depend on your hairâ¦.i know black women are advised wash hair only once a week or every two weeks depending on the style. Its really just the diefference in texture. whereas people with a certain texture of hair wants to get rid of grease, black women with nappy hair want to keep as much as the natural oils in our hair that we can. too much washing strips our hir of those essential oils. people wearing natural hairstyles tend to condition between shampoos howeverâ¦but for the most part, washing our hair every day is a bigâno-noâ

Cadi

I REQUIRE washing daily. Honest to goodness, if I donât wash daily, it SMELLS, and the slightest touch leaves yuck on my fingers. Itâs quite nasty. Itâs a royal pain, too, because my mane is waist length. The ends get a really good leave-in daily to make up for the constant washing.

Meg

My hair gets yucky quickly â especially in summer. I wash it when I shower every morning (though sometimes I take a weekend day off). Even now, though, my bangs start looking greasy by the afternoon if not sooner, and my part looks greasy at night and definitely by the next day.

Cornstarch is my friend.

If I donât have time to wash/rewash my hair, I sprinkle it in, then blow dry and brush out.

It works really well if youâre blonde, I hear. I have to make sure that I get it out, though, because it makes my brown hair look grayish. Iâve heard that bronzer works well. I have a container of it that I donât use, so maybe Iâll try it (maybe even mixing the two).

Zephyr

Lindsay â I know what you mean; I definitely have that problem at times too! A few tips to make you hair less greasy:
1. Donât run your hands through it (your hands have tons of oils and that grease rubs off on your hair)
2. Use a clarifying shampoo
3. Donât use too many products on your hair
Ultimately a lot of it is hormonal but luckily that means it might level off in a few years. Hope that helped!

Kendra â Thatâs a really good point. When I was researching for this topic, I saw a lot of recommendations for hair texture and it really makes sense. Not everyone has the exact same texture and therefore not every washing schedule will work for everyone!

Cadi â Wow, waist long hair? Iâm impressed! Iâve always wanted my hair really long but I totally donât have the patience to deal with uber long hair. And good call with the daily leave in for your ends. What brand do you use?

Meg â Summer is the worst time for my hair too, and funny thing about bangs â they always seem to get greasy the fastest! I just got side bangs and was introduced to this phenomenon recently. I think maybe they keep getting greasy because youâre always touching them to get them out of your face, you know? And Iâm with you on cornstarch idea, although I prefer baby powder or even translucent face powder (iâm a blonde.) Matte bronzer should work well for brunettes.

if you have soccer you may want to wash it on the nights you have it then everyther day. :)

I am half white, half Asian. I have normal sized eyes and eye folds, however i think I look more asian and i have a yellow skin undertone

I always wear realistic looking grey contacts though (for school, hanging out with friends, etc) my eyes are naturally dark brown. What hair color should i have? Would it match with both eye colors? Thanks!

Answer
Definitely nice neutral brown shades all the way up to black. You may even suit a cool brown colour, but most commonly a yellow undertoned person looks best with warm and neutral tones. Avoid blondes though, they'll make your face look even brighter/yellower and it will just look very artificial. Browns will look beautiful!

I know nothing about the condition or current texture of your hair.

Example: "My hair is right about armpit length as it is, but I've severely damaged it by bleaching it all at once. As a student of cosmetology myself, I would have to say that it was probably one of the worst mistakes I could have ever made."
Another example: ok i did my hair yesterday i DIDN'T bleach it ,but im not sure what its called but she took the color out of my hair and then dies it a blond color and my head was on fire it killed me so after that i hated my hair color so i colored it my self a darker color, it looked so ugly and it burned me again it rully hrt so after i washed it my mom checked it for me and found small spots of blood all over my top scalp like over 20 of em now im scared and don't know why its there is it from the color am i sick and something is wrong ??

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. and how do you get you hair to stay up that way?

There isn't a name for it, they just spike up their bangs. Get a little pomade or hair paste and put it on while your hair is dry and pull it up. Don't use gel, that will just make it flop over, unless your hair is relatively short.

I dont' think it'll work. You can't put color on top of color. You'll most likely have to bleach to remove the auburn and then dye it the color you want.

It's really frizzy.

Answer
Just make it curly and use hair spray + gel to keep it unfrizzy and in place.

What hairstyle would you suggest for an overweight man?

Q. I was recently hired, and had to shave off my chinstrap beard that helped me look thinner. I am changing what I eat, how much I eat and will be going to the gym, but while I'm losing the weight, what kind of haircut would give the illusion that I am thinner than I am?
I have black, wavey hair.

Answer
Can't help you, without knowing hair texture and length of hair.

What Boys hairstyle helps make their face look wider?

Q. My face is long and narrow, eegh. I hate it
I was hoping someone knew any hairstyle that would make the face seem wider or any way I can make my face grow wider?
Any suggestions?

Answer
No one is ever completely satisfied with their facial shape, and you probably notice your long face more than others. Don't worry though, you're in good company, look how long spider-man's face is:

http://www.ugo.com/games/greatest-launches-in-history/images/spiderman1.jpg

If it is still really something you thing you absolutely must address, Your face will naturally fill/round out if you gain some weight (I would suggest lifting weights if you try to accomplish this so some of it is at least healthy muscle). Additionally, if/when you are old enough, growing facial hair will also make your face appear fuller, such as as a beard or big bushy side-burns. If your face really is extremely narrow, and you try to compensate for it by growing your hair wider on the side, you will just look heart shaped (wide on top and narrow on bottom).

I'm a 15 year old teen girl, my hair is long, dirty blonde color. I want to get a haircut and I like all asian hairstyles and I'm not sure how they would look on me since I'm european. What do you think? :)

Answer
Many Asian have straight hair. Many Europeans are Asians. I'm Asian.
Sure go for it!

W TO STYLE LONG HAIR:
Dress up an easy down day with a bow.
Try the trendy wrap-around braid with bangs.
Make your hair and accessory with a huge topknot.
Scrunch with a texturizing spray for a beach-y look.
Soften up a work blazer with a sweet side part.
Use a round brush for a full-of-body blowout.
Rough up a side pony with a rugged safari hat.
Try a classic French braid, coil to the side.
Embrace fluffy curls - the bigger, the better!
Do Duchess Catherine brown (the new blond).
Disguise grow-out bangs with a single braid.
If you dare: shaved sides are having a moment.
Do a Farrah-style flip, any face shape.
Whip up a Rapunzelesque rope braid.
Days-old hair? Do a double deck pony.
Rock an easy side braid for a weekend look. Add Wafarer-style specs and a red0hot lip. Fierce!
THINK BIG: The new blowout is all about big, bouncy volume. Start blow-drying hair with a large barrel brush, set in loose pin curls for 10 minutes, then shake out until ends are wavy.
CREATE A HALO: Braiding hair horizontally on either side of a deep side part creates a whimsical, hippie-like effect. I call it the Hunger Games style. Other magazines called it the 'goddess' look. I've seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Other magazines called it, the Goddess look. Victoria Newman on the Young & the Restless did a similar a week ago! Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12.
I'm sure NO ONE in you school have done that!

Soft updos and silk scarves at Dolce & Gabbana. The summery hair at Dolce was anchored by beautiful printed scarves that hairstylist Guido Paulo wrapped around textured, pulled-apart updos. He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. To keep the headband from looking severe, Paulo left a few centimeters of the hairline exposed, covered the very tops of the ears with the scarf, and tied it on the side.
HOW I STYLED MY HAIR IN HS with past the shoulder length to long hair?
My hair cut was below my boobs, until I grad. from HS it went down to my waist. I have various styles for my hair, didn't have bangs then.

1. I parted them in the middle, had two baby pony tails right where the top of my ears, and they fall to the front, while the rest of my hair hang loose on the back. I also curled the ends under, using plastic curlers (when I go to sleep).

2. Other times, I braided my hair after they're washed, so they're curly for days! I have about 6 sections that was braided so the curls are tighter. In the morning, when I take the braids out, finger comb so they don't get frizzy.

3. Do the Pocahantas bun. Divide your hair vertically in 2. Coil the top section, using bobby pins. Let the other bottom half loose.

4. Add hairsticks to your bun, instead.

5. Coil the top, coil the bottom section.

6. Braid the top coil, bun it. Let the rest fall out.

7. Add hair sticks to the braided bun.

I can do 7 different styles per week (even now). The idea is to experiment, practice the night before, so you can easily do them by morning. Takes me 2-10 mins. to style my knee length hair. I've posted 98 on Facebook.

Shaved/short hair side for female. Will this look good on me?

Sydney

This is me me^.^

http://postimg.org/gallery/1tpe5ce2/
I normally wear concert tees and skinny jeans along with DCs and my make up is a little darker than that usually. Also, I have my nose pierced and my cartilage pierced on that side. I have and industrial on the other side and double lobes on each side, I don't know if this makes a difference or not.
And this is what I want to do
http://postimg.org/gallery/23uvx1iy/
It's the half shaved idea but I want it short like 3/4 to 1 inch instead of all the way shaved. My hairs normally a little redder just haven't dyed it in a while. I also don't want all the half shaved. I want it shorter to just slightly behind my ear not the whole half. Will this look good? And will anyone put a link for a REALLY good example for this? Thank you ^.^

Answer
The links below are my own personal preferences as far as the "best examples" of the Skrillex look. The reason(s) I think these are good examples is because from certain angles, one wouldn't be able to tell that the person has had a potion of their hair shaved. (which may be 100% contrary to what your intention is for having it done in the first place, however.)

I think that these are good examples because extreme cuts, colours & styles are not for everyone. IRONY plays a big part. A cherub-faced little angel with a piercing and a partial buzz is ironic = cool. A steely-staring, serial-killer with a partial buzz, tats and piercings is pretty much predictable = par for the course to the rest of the world.

Alice Dellal's hair colour(s), as well as the long length make her partial buzz look really cute. At any time, she could emphasise the buzz or she could camouflage it (and in some circumstances, one may need to appear to be a little more conservative.. let's be realistic here).

I think this is the best that Kelly Osborn has ever looked:
(not sensing any angst or dark, troubled waters any more)
Maybe she's in love!
http://kirstensstylereport.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/kelly-osbourne-shaves-head.jpg

The conservative dress aside, she has managed to find the perfect, happy medium between trendy, quirky, a little eccentric (revealing her own personality to the world); doing so by way of a more conservative colour, curl and cut. Her buzzed sides look awesome and she really looks great.

AmberRose always looks good, no matter what she does. She's a good example of how a total (or partial) buzz can be a good thing:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI8GXQZqasohOLkX-4Ogu1C8kP32TIsKOnv6eXTyXcP5avqzpWVOp9QAu0_Zf6DKsqz8TzZcfC4O6_d0FAiEqJfz3DiQdswIol8-qC2v82Ab_ztOno97jGV-YOBE-L5LeZwesnNMW4VBU/s320/amber_rose_bald2.jpg

I am just NOT into most tats because I can't help but focus on the fact that in time, the person will probably have serious regrets re: whatever it is they've had inked on to their body. BUT.. this is a good example of a partial buzz, as well as a tattoo. In time, if she regrets the roaring tiger.. she lets her hair grow. Perfect. Besides.. this looks great. It's really pretty and unique. (love the thought of a 'hidden message' under the hair)

Miley Cirus' hair looks great. Love the front, longer, whisps that soften the face. Love the colour on her (looks beautiful). Love the darker buzzed sides. Love the length. This is a great example of the look.:

Agnes Deyn is another one who can do no wrong. Seriously. The all-over buzz is beautiful:

.and so is the partial buzz:
http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTkxOTg1NjU3Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTE0MTYwNA@@._V1._SY314_CR10,0,214,314_.jpg

..and platinum buzz:

..spiked buzz:

Cassie Ventura's side buzz skrillex looks pretty because of the colour. The darker buzz and roots with the golden, honey blonde colour (and skin) look great on her.:
http://www.edmsauce.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Cassie.jpeg

The key (again, in my opinion) is to have really sexy, cute, feature-softening fringe that spikes or whisps toward the center of your forehead (with some highlights). Depending on the shape/size of the ear.. a little longer section may be necessary in front of the ear (just a wee bit).

The very top/crown should be pretty short so it stays up and doesn't flop-over. If you aren't into short-short then it has to be quite long. To me, it's either one or the other. The partial buzz can be on one or both sides. The buzz should stop along the line of the back of the ear.. no further. Any further and you lose your length. If you go that far.. you might as well buzz the whole head.

As far as will it look good on you.. Yes. I think so. You have great features: big dimples, big blue eyes and baby cheeks. I like your glasses, too. People who look all hard, harsh and scary seem 'other-worldly' to the general public when they have this type of cut/style because it's overkill. Having a baby face with dimples translates every style choice, every piercing, every tat (not that you said you have any).. into a positive, attractive, pretty VS. negative, scowling, angry look.

We aren't Catholic or a religion that is against short hair.
She used to wear her hair in an "Almost" bob all throughout highschool.
I make amazing grades in advanced classes, with my lowest grade being a 98, (so she can't say my grades are bad)
I'm 13.

I want to get my hair cut like an anime character, because *I* like it. I'm don't want to do it for anyone other than *MYSELF*

I'm not a dike and I'm not gonna wear it like guy hair.

(These are all just statements, that might help you answer.)

I am NOT going to pull the "It's my hair and I'm a teenager" one on her.

Answer
GO FOR IT. I think it would look good with your facial structure. The shorter you make your hair the fatter your face is gonna look. You have a really thin face though so I wouldnt worry about it.
