How to grow hair color out?

Tiffany

So I'm a naturally really light brown. I've experimented with lots of different hair colors and my hair is still really healthy. When my hair was at black, I got it back to brown but the people who tried to match my hair color gave me too dark of a brown and there's still a huge line. I want to be able to grown out my dyed hair to my natural color basically. Salons have never been able to help me with this either. I want to be able to not have to dye my hair once it's finally grown out all of the way. Thank you!!!

Answer
Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that the ombre style.

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. What Clairol Natural Instincts hair color should I use to achieve natural Asian hair color again?

Frozen M

I have lightened hair from bleaching a year ago and would like to dye my hair back to its original color again. I usually use L'oreal but took interest in the Clairol's Natural Instincts line. I originally planned on buying Natural Instincts Ebony Mocha/Brown-Black but read from reviews that the color was actually darker than what is shown on the box. So, I chickened out because I didn't want my hair turning too dark or black. I have a similar hair color to this celebrity:
http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/iu-tumblr.png

What other color from the Natural Instincts line would you recommend to achieve the hair color in the photo? or...What other ammonia-free/semi-permanent color and brand would you recommend?

Thank you in advance!

Answer
Going back to its original color just takes you longer to get there, if you add another layer of hair dye on your hair.

What hair style looks better on a high school guy?

Q. I want to change my hair style but dont know what to... Longer hair or shorter hair? Spiked or unspiked? What hair style looks awesome!? Let me know! The one I have stinks!

Answer
There are three common hairstyles among highschool boys. The first is a close clipper cut along the sides and back with the top blended into the sides and left about finger length, this style usually has the bangs left a little longer so they can be worn either spiked up or left down.
The second is a medium layered cut (parents kinda hate this one) The hair is usually long enough to cover the ears and falls "over the collar" of a dress shirt. Bangs are left long, but out of the eyes to make the parents happy. This style is also razored to give the edges a nice soft look.
The third is the "faux hawk" or fake mohawk. Sides and back are clippered nice and short. The top is left long,(about 2-3 inches) but all is blended. The top is then styled by pushing most of it towards the middle to create a "mohawk" Bangs are spiked up...

Ok so Im a guy and the very front hairline of my forehead has some cowlicks basically the entire front line of my forehead so its very hard to style. However all my hair before that line is very nice and will do whatever I want it to do. So should I try cutting my bangs almost completely gone and let the hair that is before my hairline grow out over it?

I am not sure if this is a good idea but I have always had hair problems my whole life due to my cowlicks on the hairline. I also have very fine straight hair.

If you do not understand here are a few pictures.

Example of my hairline in front just say all these front hairs are cowlicks.

http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/hair_transplant_photos/Dr_Rahal/front-hair-line-detail-hair-transplant-1535-grafts-Dr-Rahal.jpg

And in theory if I cut all those cowlicks off I could cover my forehead if I gew out the other hairs that are not cowlicks sort of like this pic....

i've dyed my hair black for a while now and i'm getting really tired of it. my natural hair color is ash blonde and it looks stupid letting it grow out. i'm really OCD about my hair being soft and healthy so, i was wondering how much it would damage my hair?
any of ways of lightening hair?

Answer
Lightening will damage no matter what. No way around it. All I can suggest for u is to get pureology conditioner color care that u can buy at ulta. Its quite pricey but insanely worth it because it has ingredients to restore hairs natural health. I use the hydrating kind because I straighten my crazy curly hair daily and my hair looks so healthy and is starting to grow again.

What is the best at-home blonde hair coloring system?

Mander

I have naturally brown hair and have been going to a salon to get it highlighted. Sometimes, even when I just get it done, my roots look bad from outgrowth when I pull it up. I want to do something at home where I can color it all the same color, so the roots are good too. What's the best bright blonde hair color that wont damage my hair? Drugstore or Sally Beauty supply is all we have here. Thanks!!!

Answer
I strongly recommend going to the salon for a dye job. It's extremely difficult to do even an at-home coloring without proper training, and you'll still have to keep up with it so you don't get dark roots. However, if you have naturally light brown hair, highlights should be able to get you the natural-looking blonde you're going for. Try talking to your stylist about weaving the color in so that your hair looks sun kissed and you don't have to come back every six weeks. A good colorist can help you get low-maintenance blonde hair. You just have to help her/him know what you're looking for.

Answer
as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed or Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed and Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.php

(TrichoZed⢠will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. A consistent use of TrichoZed⢠ensures permanent results within 6 months. Further use shall maintain optimal health of your hair.)

and here

http://www.provillus.com/?aid=221781

(Provillus⢠will produce noticeable hair growth in 40. A consistent use of TrichoZed⢠ensures permanent results within ~5 months.)

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

Also Informative video about Provillus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ydvCHhbRkk

What are the current fashion trends in California?

Carol N

i live on the east coast, and i love california, especially in the summer. i want to know what are the current trends throughout California specifically LA and the Bay Area. thank you.

Answer
I live in the Bay Area!
Fashion trends right now are brightly colored skinny jeans with brightly colored Converse sneakers. (Weird, I know... like purple or orange or yellow.) Plus everybody paints their nails in neon colors. Like, everybody.
Another trend is the bohemian look: flowy peasant blouses, silky scarves, wooden bead necklaces, earth tones.

As for hair, pin-straight is popular.

trendy hair color for women over 40 image

Baby Doll

I was just looking at some old pictures of my mother when she was young (back in the early 40's). People looked different back then. I know it could be their clothes, etc. I look at her today and she looks like the present time.

Why do you think people look different in their generation but when they reach today's time they don't look different anymore? I am focusing on the face and nothing else. So hard for me to explain, maybe you will know what I mean.

Answer
I remember seeing a picture of a friend of mine, when she was a young
teenager. She wore dark red lipstick and a very grown up hairstyle
and she didn't pluck her brows then. And she looked at 15 older than
she did at 26. I remember pictures of my mom and aunts when they
were teens, and they all looked mid 30's when they were only in their
mid teens. They were all chunkier, had thick bushy hair and curly, and
wore anklets with thick ankles. Their clothes were more loose and
not form fitting. They wore bulky coats and clunky shoes and lace up
oxfords in high school. They wore dark lipstick and blush and had
thicker brows also. It was a new trendy look that was preceded by
the flat wavy hair styles of the 30's. And every young woman wore more make up or darker toned makeup than they wear today. The makeup alone can change someone from a more light and natural shade to a harsher darker coloring. And the hair style can make all the difference in the world as someone gets older. Colors of clothes
changed along with the cut or curve of a style. Dark and drab colors
were more predominant in the 40's and reflects the dreary years of
the war going on. I look back and remember a downtown rush hour
with people in dark clothes. And pictures taken then were in black
and white. And to me as a child, I saw things in a black and white
world most of the time. People didn't wear the bright colors of today,
because they weren't available to technology. They didn't have the
dyes for one thing that we have available today, nor the synthetics
that were developed after I was young. People also had less hanging
in their small closets than they do today. Many had to wear the
same dresses as they did in the summer. You never saw an average
person being a clothes horse back when. Clothes were more secon-
ary in importance than they are today. People were more frugal, and
they put their extra money in a bank. There were no credit cards
to buy on whims, or keeping up with new styles and fads. Everyone
tended to make do. And if women did splurge, it was on a new hat,
or a new pair of shoes. Those two things, could update a wardrobe.
I remember how few clothes hung in my parents' closet. One evening
dress for going out dancing, one fur coat, a couple of skirts and
blouses and winter wear was folded in a drawer along with under-
wear and socks and sweaters. My dad had two suits and a couple pair
of slacks and a few dress shirts. His casual wear was limited to
some light blue khaki pants and a few short sleeved shirts. And since
there was only one closet it all was mashed together. It wasn't until
we moved to a larger house with a double sized closets, that more
clothes were added. And there were built in drawers inside the
closet for folded things.
My mother looked younger to me growing up, than she did as a
teenager. Just due to a changed shorter hair style and she stopped
perming her hair and began coloring it. She changed with the times
to different makeup that was more flattering. And her clothes followed
the trends but yet she didn't by fadish things. She was practical and
bought things to last. I think most people had that same mind set.
Since they were products of the Great Depression and WWII.

Compare and contrast Los Angeles vs New York City with positive details for both?

hh

I am writing a compare and contrast essay over both, and I'd like your opinions because I have never been to New York and grew up in LA so I am partial to it. My categories are: Style (fashion); People; Style of Living; Transporation; Types of Food; and Weather. So I need specifics for those. If any of my general topics can be improved, I'd like to hear those opinions as well.

Thanks :)

Answer
LOS ANGELES

Style- more laid back, wear whites, colors, sandals, jeans, a more "hair let down" style.

People- Everyone is on the phone, I think both cities. there isn't a major difference in people except in New York, there are many more men in business suits and women dressed professionally. I noticed there are a lot more Australians, Japanese, and British people visiting LA than in New York

Transportation- CARS,CARS, AND OH LOOK, A BUS.

Types of food- LA has a wide variety of foods, just like New York, but there is more Mexican, Korean, Japanese food in LA.

Weather- Does the weather in LA change?

NEW YORK

Style- Black is the color of choice for all, if not for most people who are fashionable. It's the fashion capitol of the western hemisphere! Even though New York is more formal than Los Angeles, New York definitely does "casual" in a very trendy way. As it is said, New York is where fashion starts and than it moves outward.

People- New York is very multicultural. The person right next to you is going to be very different. New York isn't as much of a playground as Los Angeles is. There is a somewhat seriousness that New Yorkers possess that no other people have, it's truly bizarre if you ask me. There are many more European and Canadian tourists in New York than there are in LA that I've noticed over the years.

Transportation-most people who commute into the city either ride the bus or the train. Cost of parking you're car in the city can run up to $40.00 an hour. Redic but true.

Types of food- ITALIAN, Chinese, French, and steakhouses are among the most popular. You know, the food of any region really shows the people who are living there, *wink*

Weather- Cold from december to march, starts to get warm in march until mid april. After Mid-april comes the serious HEAT AND HUMIDITY HITS YOU LIKE A WALL!!! Thunderstorms until June than just heat and humidity up until Late october when the crisp fall weather comes.

hope this helps :)

Hi, i have dark brown eyes, and brown hair. I have yellow undertones and my skin is light and pale, like classic ivory. I had blonde hair when i was young, and i loved it. Now my hair is medium brown, and i was wondering what color and what kind of highlight or lowlights would compliment my skin? And what is the best colors of clothing to use? I am neutral when it comes to warm and cool tones, because i have a little of both. So i am so confused what would look good. Thanks!

Answer
Deep rich brown color with creamy yellow highlights would work extremely well with your eye color. Earth tones, such as browns, tans, khakis, even creams would be perfect for your eye color. You could probably pull off some pinks, but I would try to stay away from mauves and lavendars. Bold colors, such as red, black, bright yellow, blues seem to work well too. Orange isn't too flattering, but might possibly work well too.

How Blonde can I go with my hair?

strawberry

I'm planning on going Blonde in a few weeks. Only Problem is, I'm not sure how blonde I can go. I have rather pale skin, with yellow undertones, that does not tan easily. My hair is REALLY thick and my hair color right now is a red/brown with blonde highlights. My natural color is a very dark blonde, almost brown. During the summer it is impossible for me to keep a vibrent red because it fades very quickly. So does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer
be careful as very blonde hair can be very ageing. If you're young that's fine, but if you're a bit older you could end up looking like trailer trash mutton dressed as lamb.

Answer
i have 2 questions for you:
1) do you have a straightner with flat edges
&
2) do you know how to curl ribbon

if you answered yes, here's a really simple elegant hair style for you:
taking small sections, no bigger than you straightener is wide, and using the same technique you use to curl ribbons, curl your hair. when you're done ribboning all of your hair you can either pin half or all of it up, or leave it all down.

GOOD LUCK!

Q. I'm slightly (the key word here is "slightly," as in a little darker than fair, with underlying yellow tones) tanned skin and dark brown, almost black, eyes. Imagine the Asian chick, Gong Li, in Miami Vice the movie; that's my skin color.

I want a new hair color for this summer. Notice I mentioned "striking," so please do not say jet black as one of the answers. All-over color? Highlights? Lowlights? What? Thank you. =]

Answer
Honey Brown-Blonde
(Honey brown with hint of blonde-ish color) will give you that
sweet, soft tone look. It will actually minimize your underlying yellow tones and contrast your tanned and darker (brown) skin. So if you are wanting a soft tone look and highlight your darker, tanned skin and look more "tanned, Latino-lookin chick at Hawaii" Also (As I said) honey brown brings out darker colors. So it will bring out your eyes too which is black. It will make your eyes look more darker and contrasted.
If going for Honey Brown, I think highlights will look stunning. A all over would be pretty too. But, highlights on the sides can help to bring your cheek's tanned (darker) look rather than all over. It's your choice really go for the one you want. Be dramatic and color it all over if you wish :) EIthers pretty

Second option is Blue Black (that's what I have now, and i LOVE IT p.s I'm an asian chick as well) It's a color that's black with hint of blue. You can see the blue really clearly in bright light. Blue black can give you that edgy, cold, cool look.
It will sharpen and really highlight (not bring out, but rather "highlight") your black eyes, and it sometims makes them look glaring and like cat-eyes (which are so pretty in my opnion) due to it's highlighting effect. For this one, go for an all over definitly. So, try something totally new. Look edgy, cold, cool, and mysterious (chick with black eyes and blue (partly) hair, woah! â¥)

Honey, trust me HONEY BROWN (for more tanned sexy Latino look)
and BLUE BLACKS (cold, frozen, edgy, mysterious look which highlights your black eyes that it makes it look glaring *cat-eye*) ARE GREAT.
It is my advice that if you don't have really a "different" type of Asian skin, like really fair (great for blonde) or tanned skin (sexy Jamaican lookin skin) don't go for blonde or that kind of really yellow-ish color and also no red (it can "kill" your Asian skin, by highlighting your skin WAY too much). So no total blonde or red! pls!

â¥hope it helps..

How fast does hair grow in a month?

Q. So during the winter my blonde hair gets to a brownish color and in 3 days I am leaving for Miami and then a 7 day cruise to mexico and Jamaica and etc.. Recently I got blonde highlights really light but my roots grew out about 2 or maybe 3 inches. Should I quickly get more highlights or will the sun make the roots lighter during this week? Thanks!

Answer
HAIR TRIVIA:
⢠The hair on your head grows at about 0.00000001 miles per hour. That's a half-inch per month. Mine grows 3/4" in 29 days.

Hydrogen Peroxide or lemon juice. The chemicals in the pool can do that too! Blondes have long used lemon juice to brighten their highlights when out in the sun. But a combination of lemon and orange juices delivers the most natural looking results. The mix creates a warmer, more golden color. That depends if your hair is thinning and what other chemicals are on your hair and how are you styling your hair.

My son made his black hair blonde using hydrogen peroxide, but I have to warn you, they will be blonde until they're cut off 100%. Have you seen the Outsiders, C. Thomas Howell made his hair blonde!
One example using coffee on her natural hair: "Many of you have probably heard of dying your hair with coffee. I tried this method last week. I got the 8 O' Clock 100% Arabica Coffee Ground. I brewed two large cups of it, and then dumped on my hair, trying as hard as possible to get all parts of my hair. I let it sits in my hair for 3 hrs. putting a plastic bag over it to keep in the heat. I then rinsed and dried. But when I saw the results, my hair was lighter? So answer the following:
Why was it lighter?"
Another example: "So, I'm trying to lighten my dark brown hair, so yesterday before I sleep, I made a hair mask: 1/2 cup honey, 1 cup water, 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon, mixed them together and kept it on my hair over night. So, today I washed it out and I noticed that my hair is way darker, you can' really see any brown tinge, does any one know how that happened, and if it will stay that way, will it fade?"

Hair lightening from the sun is drying to the hair, it also means they're discolored from sunburned. Add lemon juice to the formula, or any other methods, is the result for double dried & damaged hair.

One example from YA Poster regarding Sun-in: "Please don't go thru what I went through. I used Sun In, which is pretty much just like the lemons, all over my hair about 10 times in a month and a chuck of my hair ON THE TOP got fried off. But the hair has grown back now that u can't really notice it. But when I get my hair wet that chunck of hair that got fried feels very waxing. And there is no way to get it off because that's how your hair is now. Please don't do it."
"Sometimes it is not what you put on the hair that makes the big difference, itâs what you take off of the hair that brings out the beauty in blondes," says Celebrity Stylist Mohammad Rahebi.

Example 2: I used sun yesterday thinking it would lighten up my brown hair a little. Come the next day my hair is ORANGE! I have never put color in my hair nor lightened it with any products! How do I get my color back without dyeing it? I hate this color and I need help! I start school on September 5th and I can't have it for school, or especially homecoming! Help me!!

If you're going to Miami, and will be swimming in the pool, chemicals on your hair can also turn your hair GREEN or BLUE.

Really, I am over weight, and always had long hair with bangs. Which I pull up into a ponytail, cause I just cant stand it down. It is very think and its reddish brown (more reddish) I would like something new, easy, and that looks good on fat faces! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!

Answer
What are Flattering Hair Styles For Fat Faces?

If your face is overly round or "fat" needs a hairstyle that's provides a slimming effect to the face. Soft layers framing the face and reaching the nape area of the neck tends to be a great look. Make sure if you go with a bob hairstyle that the hair does not end at the chin. This hair style typically enhances the the look of a fat face.

Hair Do's and Don'ts

Hair that is too straight and long heightens the look of a "fat face". Hair that is too thin also accentuates and makes the face stand out more. If your hair is thin add a few extensions to your hair which will add fullness to your hair while slimming the look of your face.

Updos are also flattering to a fat face. A full gorgeous updo with a few tendrils of curls falling toward the side of the face helps bring attention away from the size of the face, making the face appear smaller while adding height to the face.

What hairstyle is the best for a round face?

Who's that

Not a fat face of course. only round. but feminine and slim.

Answer
A choppy full fringe but with short layers framing the face.

How can i go from a dark brown hair colour to natural orange ?

Amanda

My natural hair colour is red/orange and i haved coloured it dark brown in the fall. Now i would really like to go back to my natural hair colour in the next little while but i do not want to ruin my hair with bleach or extensive damage. What would be the best way to reach my goal without ruining my hair?

Answer
sounds annoying but the only way is to grow it out. Go to the hairdressers, they will be able to help you disguise the regrowth. I know you dont want to use any more hair colour or bleach, but in the this situation, it will be necessary to help you get back to your original colour. A colour remover MAY help, but they work best on fresh colour

What Is Your Favorite Hair Color And Why?

Marilyn

What do you feel about the hair colors: Red, Blond, Brown, Black. What feelings do each of these hair colors evoke?

Answer
I like blond for me cause I have been blond since I was a baby. I think Angelina Jolie looks beautiful with dark brown hair. I think that Nicole Kidman with her strawberry hair is gorgeous. Ozzie Osbourne's daughter is cute with black hair. So it depends on what people look good in. I look good in my blond.

What are some legit and free websites that list acting and modeling castings in minnesota?

best hair color minneapolis
on Hair Color Specialist Minneapolis MN
best hair color minneapolis image
Q. I started modeling about a year ago and i am signed with an agency but they keeps saying that they don't have anything. I need something else to help get my modeling and acting career going.

Answer
Which agency are you with, and what does your contract say? If you aren't getting any work, then you need to be having regular meetings with your agent (every 2-3 months) to find out why you aren't getting work and what you can proactively do to make yourself more marketable - work with an acting coach, get more local/community theatre experience, update the pictures on your comp card/portfolio, consider changing your hair cut/color, losing or gaining weight, etc. Your agent knows what type of people their clients have been looking for in the past 6 months, so what can you do to meet those requirments, if anything. And find out what sort of opt-out clause is in your contract - for example can you leave if they fail to secure any castings for you in a 9 month period, for example?

The reality is, there is not much acting work in Minneapolis outside of theatre, and you don't need an agent for that. And for modeling, unless you are doing Target campaigns, most of which are booked through Vision or Wehmann agencies, then there isn't much modeling work either. So you need to make sure you are being realistic about how much work is even available where you live.

Keep an eye on the MN Film Board site for any auditions that are coming up http://www.mnfilmtv.org/mnhotline/?cat=14
If nothing is listed, it's because there is nothing currently casting in the state, or nothing that is holding an open casting

Can you help me pick a topic for my script?

tayler

We have to write a script or play whatever and mine is drama and comedy. What should it be about. Please be fer real. It cant have drugs, crime ect.. GAY. Thank you!

Answer
I have the following script concept for you. I will first describe, in general terms, the basic backdrop as to what has just occurred as the the story of the script begins. Then, I will provide you with a couple of ideas as to appropriate titles. Please know, in my opinion, I believe this idea could be a comedy, a drama, or drama and comedy.

Basic Script Concept: The setting is the year 2030. The world has come to realize in the previous five years that global warming is indeed a reality. All of the world's countries are experiencing a variety of unique and serious problems that have the very real possibility of destroying them for good if not dealt with successfully. In America, the entire country is steadily acquiring a more tropical climate. There are palm trees in Minneapolis. North Dakota has the nation's biggest and best orange and grapefruit farms. In Russia, the problems are the opposite. For some reason, the entire country has become progressively colder, so much so, to the point that glaciers are starting to form on the tall buildings of Moscow. Their streets are like year round skating rinks. The best way to get around Moscow is by ice skates. The populations of both countries are at the point of rebellion, furious at their political leaders for not taking the early signs of global warming seriously. Things look pretty hopeless!

Into this mess comes a man that has the scientific qualifications and ideas, that both America and Russia believe can save them. But, time is running out. Perhaps there is only enough time to save one, and not both of the countries. This genius, whose name is Dr. Prather C. Dumpelgroover, nick-named 'Wild Red' for short, because of his shoulder length cranberry colored hair. Born in Lichtenstein, he considers himself a citizen of the world and wants to sell his secrets to the highest bidder.

Russia successfully kidnaps Wild Red. Thinking their problems about to be over, proclaim to their countrymen they have him under their control through an immediate country-wide broadcast and showing. However, when they take Wild Red to their main science labs, they come find-out the guy is a complete idiot, moron and expert fraud. The russian political leaders and scientists start to panic.

The script begins with this opposite absolute kayos in both countries, one with an idiot for a savior, and the other, America, not knowing Wild Red is an idiot, planning to steal him from Russia.

Possible Script Titles: 1. Comrade, Please Bomb Me Now
2. Solution Pollution Contusion
3. Burned Cookies And Sour Milk In Moscow
4. Morons Over Moscow
5. How To Steal A Moron And Look Innocent
6. Idiots Anonymous
7. Sun Tans In Bismarck

Admittedly, this is a pretty wild idea. But, I think if you use your imagination you will be able to create circumstances and dialog that finds humor in the drama and drama with the humor. Tell me what you think. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

I am a male with a long face and a high hairline, which kind of hairstyles would suit my face shape? I already have bangs/fringe and I'm kinda sick of them LOL. Would long hair suit me if a part it in the centre and have it back behind my ears? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Answer
your joking right? part down the middle, uh, ya- I remember Shaun Cassidy too- but we havent gone THAT full circle. If the avatar is anything like you- that looks good. Behind the ears- with a high forehead and long face- NOT. Dont excentuate. As a girl with similar features...I dont do bangs, my hair is long with plenty of layers to keep volume. My part is whichever side the hair gets flipped and sometimes falls in the middle. My face isnt that long but- if I dont help much...a stylist and a good salon can help you. Not the lame books that are always 10 years out of date.

What hairstyle do you recommend for someone with a long face and a forehead like tyra banks?

Question for someone knowledgable about DIY hair color?

J

I am going from dyed blonde to brunette. My natural hair color is a dark blonde, but I've been coloring it for years and years. It's currently slightly brassy. I normally buy hair color from Sally's.

Should I go for an ash brown? I'm not interested in going very dark. Any other tips would be great.
I also have issues w/fading. I know after about 5 weeks the blonde will reappear and the brown will fade.

Answer
use a natural or neutral level 6 or 7 semi permanent dye. The reason for the semi is you know your hair will fade fast even with permanent color. This way you won't damage you hair and you will be able to color it again when it fades. Another bonus is that if you don't like it you not stuck with it!

How to get ombre or dip-dye on very dark relaxed hair?

best hair color product for natural african american hair
on Hair Care Product Hair Care Product Name Ferment Cream Black Hair Care ...
best hair color product for natural african american hair image

Tiffany

Hi. I already asked a question about this but I forgot a couple details. Okay..

History of my hair-
When I was younger I always wore my hair natural. I am African-American and partially Native-American so my hair (in it's natural state) is coarse and SUPER THICK. My hair color is black with natural red undertones. My mom managed my hair for me and kept it pretty healthy and wanted to keep my hair natural for as long as possible. Then my mom decided it was time for me to start getting my hair relaxed. I first got it relaxed a little bit after I turned 12. I've been getting it relaxed about every 10 weeks since then. Also, I've never dyed my hair, never used any bleach or peroxide. Nope, nothing. I have went to get bangs cut a couple of times and the person who relaxes my hair cuts off the split ends of my hair every once in awhile.

Now: I'm almost 15 and my hair is slightly past shoulder-length. Right now, I'm trying to grow my hair a little longer. I use a shampoo & conditioner that does not use parabens, silicones, sulfates, alcohol, blah blah blah and it's mineral and plant based. I wash my hair once a week ( I wait 2 weeks after I relax it) and I deep condition my hair and I oil it. And I use this product chi silk infusion which I LOVE. I like my natural hair color. When I part my hair, sometimes you can see the lighter parts of my hair. Now, since I like my natural hair color for the most part and don't want to go through the trouble of my roots or anything, I only want to dye the tips of my hair. I honestly don't care if the ends of my hair turn out super bright or if they're just tinted a different color. I just want it to look a little different. Now here's what I want and don't want.

1. I don't want to have to use bleach or anything that will cause bad damage/breakage to my hair or leave it dry.
2. The dye or whatever has to be safe to use on my hair and I would prefer it to be a natural product.
3. If you EXTREMELY suggest I just leave my hair alone, please tell me.

Also, I'm going to wait until my hair is at the desired length before I do anything. Plus I am looking for great haircare tips and products in general :) Thank you!

Answer
First of all, heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. The relaxers on your head, already contains formaldehyde causing cancer. If they're dye, they're all chemicals, even Henna which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It's a good read! Google: Henna for Hair Warnings.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that look ombre hair color â darker roots, lighter ends â but colorists sees that fading. Women are wanting dimensional color with natural highlights that look like they've been playing out in the sun. On Fashion Police 1-29-13 episode, Khloe Kardashian said: "I had that in 2011!"

"Ombre is the number one poorly done color in this country! It takes a lot of blending and finesse to look natural. The key is to highlight the whole head, then deepen just the roots. Unfortunately, a lot of the ombre I see today is bad - I'm ready for that to be retired! Dye should make hair look expensive and chic. Otherwise, what's the point?" ~ Harry Josh, Hollywood's top hairstylist, who have given Gisele ombre color for 13 years.

They DO SELL OMBRE kits. They also sell hair extensions that you can clip on, comes in various colors, 2/$5 @ Claire's and take them out when you get home. They're fun, funky & safe!

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Your hair is the most fragile of all hair types. They snap & break easily. So you need more TLCs than thin hair. No chemicals. No relaxers specially! No heating styling tools. Finger comb is best or use a wide tooth comb. Do what Oprah & Michelle Obama have been, going natural, using plastic curlers to set their hair. Use oil or conditioner to keep them moisturized. Heat & chemicals are your hair's worst enemies.

The hair of many black women is very fragile and studies have demonstrated that normal brushing and combing the hair can result in breakage. Brushing your hair 100-times a day is a no-no for your hair. Only comb and brush your hair to style it. Also avoid rubber bands or other implements that can physically cut into and break the hair shaft.

Google: Rhonda Lee. Copied & pasted from her getting fired @ the KTBS station.
"I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn't grow downward. It grows upward."
"Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don't find it necessary."
"I'm very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. As women we come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty."
"Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society," the TV personality concluded.
Watch: Good Hair - Documentary by Chris Rock 2009. or Tyra Banks What is Good Hair. Black women spend 80% of all hair products. She's got good advice!
Michael âRahniâ Flowers, who served as Obamaâs hairstylist in Chicago for more than 20 years, knows full well the importance great hair plays in a womanâs lifeâand so does Michelle, he says. âSheâs always taken very good care of her hair,â Flowers explains. âHaving beautiful hair is such a sign of health and attractiveness, particularly for black women, because their hair tends to be very fragile, and it needs extra care. Having it look good at all times is an amazing feat in itself. âSheâs never been the kind of woman that obsessed over hair and makeup too much.â

What are some good hair thickening/lengthening products for women of color?

Kamille J

I would like to find the number 1 hair product that makes your hair thicker and longer. I have thin hair and whenever I get it done it always looks flat and thin so I want a product that gives it some body, volume and a thick/fuller look. I also want a great product that can make my hair grow healthy and long. I need products that apply to African American Hair!

Answer
The only way I have found to work my hair into more body, volume and length is to STOP using chemicals. Last February, I went back to a natural do. The best products that have worked are Carol's Daughters and Taliah Waajid, both are online. I have learned to work some of my old relaxer styles with my natural hair and some really good moisturizing products CD's Hair milk (works on natural and relaxed hair...my MIL and SIL use it in their relaxed hair) and TW's Cinkles and Curls is AWESOME for wet sets...ProtectiveMist Bodifier is great to comb out wet hair. I use these in my 2 yr old daughter's hair also.

whats so wrong with getting old?

Answer
What really sickens and insults me is how they get models and woman who are like 26-30 yrs old to do these commercials to prove to us how well their product works, when we know for fact they are totally useless products and have little if any affect at all, even the little affect they do have is only a matter of hours but the price is absolutely ridiculous.
Futhermore it is about "terrorizing" young girls with age and the horrors of it. Do you know the biggest buyers of these products are in their 20's, they say they want to avoid getting to old fast and have been brainwashed into thinking if they start early, it won't happen.
Crest, brought out a commercial, that only aired a few times before they removed it because of thousands of complaints, my letter being one. This girls about 14yrs old finishes brushing her teeth, then starts raving about how Crest toothpastere removed "ALL" the stains on her teeth, how it protected them from getting more, etc, etc, etc. I wrote and give them proper h*ll, it was an insult to my intellegence that any 14yr old could have stained teeth and that i was personally finish with any product they produced, well to my surprise so did a few thousand others.
Commercialism and total greed is what it's all about. The fashion, makeup, diet, etc industries make billions more off teens/young adults than they do any other age.
Mostly because the are totally inexperienced and naive with life and can be sold "Anything" and manipulated like toddlers. And parents totally support this.
Wish these girls would wake up and learn that the people doing this to them are "OLDER" than most of us middle aged folks.
Women also have it a lot worse than men, only in the last 5yrs has hollywood and their propaganda media clods started to carry on about the female stars being accepted in their "older age" meaning 40 and 50. Just the fact they have to point out age, tells me what a con job it is, never heard them carry on about how men are accepted at 40 and 50, no he just go right on acting, no mention of age at anytime.
This all started because they were recieving bad publicity about female stars being treated badly, being trashed for younger women, losing parts because of gained weight or because the yrs were starting to show, no sir, male stars were acceptable into their 60's and 70's.
But just look at what happened a couple of weeks ago to "Jessica Simpson", at least i think it was Jessica.
She did a concert and was torn apart by hollywood and media because she had put on some weight and we're not talking a whole lot, she just wasn't the 95 lbs she was a few yrs back.
Then of course, when ppl started standing up for her and giving them "h*ll", all the media started claiming it wasn't them and did a total switch. But i'm gonna bet if she doesn't loose that whole 40 lbs or so, she won't get anymore work, just like many many other female stars. Is it any wonder female stars start getting plastic surgery and lifts at 37 yrs old and don't stop if their lucky enought to reach 90.
As far as i'm concerned and have been for yrs, "they insult the intellegence of all women".
Are you aware that women of 40ys and older are considered undesirables and a last choice when it comes to partners, dating and marriage, they also get replaced and overlooked first when it comes to jobs, promotions, ect that's latest results of a 15yr study and it's all because of age and looks, their experience and knowledge means nothing anymore.
In fact, 45yrs old is the new 65yrs, when it comes to women, welfare has stopped forcing them to look work because of their own statistics, women 45yrs and up can't get jobs.
Maybe we should stop fighting for women over seas for a while and pay a little attention to the what this "Man's" society is doing to women and generations more to come.
So plz, tell me again how women have equality, how women are as important as men, how women have an equal oppertunities and are valued.
Biggest con since the selling of the Brooklyn Bridge and we only have women to thank for "buying" into it, talk about the cycle of abuse.

How to get some more patience with my hair?

Nigel

Im trying to grow an afro but i get impatient sometimes i get this feeling that i my hair stops growing and its taking forever how do i get more patience and notice if my hair gets bigger?

Answer
Anyone can almost grow hair to their feet. Depends in their good genes, good hair care, and all the healthy foods they eat everyday from Mother Nature - not made by man, not from John Frieda, or supplements found @ GNC stores.

Heat & chemicals - relaxers & hair dyes for example are chemicals, both causes cancer. Relaxers contains ingredients formaldehyde causing cancer.

Heat tampers the growth, making the hair grow slowly or none. Weaves, braids, hair extensions frequently causes hair loss. With all that said, your hair is the most fragile of all hair types.

Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair"http://www.foodforhealthyhair.com/ http://sg.news.yahoo.com/food-for-healthy-hair.html - or 10 Best Foods for Your Hair.
http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/07/03/10-best-foods-for-your-hair/
NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

"You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesnât get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,â Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

How you can lift up your super thick hair in a pony?

nadine

I have a very thick hair but I try real hard to lift it up in a pony tail , any ideas how?

Answer
START OUT BY MAKING SURE YOUR HAIR IS HEALTHY -
1. Because there is no way to permanently repair damaged hair no matter what any hair product box says, if your existing hair is more than a few inches long, not healthy and/or you intend to grow it longer, get a good trim so you are starting out with hair in the best possible condition.
2. Have your hair trimmed regularly by someone you trust implicitly, or trim it yourself using a good pair of hair cutting shears, even if you are anxious for it to grow. This is especially important if you use any hair products that contain harsh chemicals, such as peroxide. When damage occurs, it causes the hair cuticle to lift and the hair shaft to split. This damage will move up the hair shaft and weaken it if you donât stop it in its tracks, causing breakage and effectively working directly against your goal of healthy hair or growth.
3. Treat your hair delicately. The longer your hair is or you intend it to be, the more important this is. Your hairâs current length, your growth goals and how often you have it cut or trimmed will determine what you can get away with doing. For instance, if your hair is short (no more than a few inches long), you can easily get away with extremes, such as going blonde using the double-process method (a harsh process that involves using peroxide to completely lift a naturally dark hair color before adding a new blond color), or backcombing (teasing) your hair into a trendy spiky âdo, because you are continually cutting off any potential damage to maintain your short style. On the other hand, if your hair is currently shoulder length or longer, or longer hair is your ultimate goal, it becomes more important to avoid caustic chemicals. In this case if you are determined to change the color of your hair, try highlighting or lowlighting to keep the damage to a minimum, and only touch-up roots, never hair that has already been processed.
4. Be especially gentle with your hair when it is wet, and always use a wide-toothed combon wet hair, never, ever a brush. Wet hair has no elasticity and will snap very easily if it is stretched. We are all familiar with that chill-inducing sound of hair snapping when you rip a tiny knot out of a lock of wet hair. Your goal, should you choose to accept it, is to avoid ever hearing that sound again!
5. Avoid ever putting anything in your hair that will cause damage to remove (like Velcro or rubberbands, for instance).
6. Condition, condition, condition! Use a daily conditioner on your hair every time you wash it no matter what its length, and if your hair is more than a few inches long, deep condition it at least once a month. Not only will this help to smooth your hair and make it look beautiful, deep conditioners return lost moisture to your hair and make the cuticle lay flat, which will result in less damage in the long run. If you have longer hair goals in mind, or if you use hair color or apply a lot of friction to your hair when you style it, using a shampoo that is made specifically to strengthen your hair will also go a long way to keeping it in excellent condition between trims.
7. Never, ever just rip a knot out of your hair. Doing this is sure to result in hair breakage and splitting.
8. Avoid hairstyles that will pull and put stress on your hair and scalp such as a tightly-pulled ponytail, tiny braids or hair extensions. This is especially important for men who tend to always keep their long hair in a ponytail. If you pull your hair tightly, especially if you put stress on the same roots day after day, you can actually cause hair loss!
9. If your hair is shoulder length or longer, try to keep heat away from it whenever possible. Save blow dryers, hot rollers, curling irons and especially flat irons for special occassions. When you are in a position that you must use one of these appliances, be sure to use a product specifically designed to protect your hair from the damage you are inflicting on it. Donât let hair appliance manufacturers convince you that you can use their heated appliancess safely; remember, if heat wasnât very damaging to your hair, there would be no need for the hundreds of products available specifically made with the intention of protecting your hair from it!
10. Always try to avoid putting friction on your hair as much as possible. Use a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush, sleep on a satin pillow case, comb it often to avoid knots, and wear a hat or scarf if you are going to be in a windy environment. Friction causes damage to your hair just like it does to the knees of your old jeans, the seat of your favorite leather chair or your heels when you break in a new killer pair of Italian leather pumps.
