Is red hair attractive?

Amber

what about amber eyes? (aka wolf eyes/orange eyes) are they attractive?

Answer
I find both very alluring and attractive.. but then I'm 'into' eyes. A woman's hair color or eye color may be an attracting influence but does not determine how I respond to them. To judge someone on appearances is rather shallow. To choose them due to this is doubly shallow and usually indicates that the person choosing someone on these factors is very vain and is only out there to use people for his or her own needs and invests nothing more in the relationship.

I am partial to women with red hair and exotic eyes, but all else depends on what kind of person they are and how they act or treat others.

Hairstyle for square/oval face?

Dew

Hi, I'm 19 years old, but I look 16-17ish. I'm asian (Indian-subcontinental) so I have a tanned complexion. My face is fairly square, slightly oval-ish. I have natural black hair but currently dyed very dark purple, and spiky towards the front. I'm getting tired of it. My hair is pretty thick and it's hard to maintain a clean spiky look because it get muddled easily. If I cut it any shorter it doesn't stand out much. I use L'oreal texturising fibre glue gel. However I don't use a hair straightener or blow dryer. Frankly I'm lacking ideas and the know-how.

So I need advice for suitable hairstyles, if possible with pictures. Please give me tips how I can maintain the hairstyle on my own, what products I should use, should I dye it a different colour, etc. I'm from London, UK, so if you can please recommend a good salon.

Thanks.

what is the best hairstyle for a square face?

fashion ch

I hair straight asian hair. I would like it shoulder length and straight. My hair won't keep a curl anyways. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks.

Answer

SQUARE FACE
(straight hairline; angular jaw; wide face)
Your hairstyle should work to soften the sharp angle of your jawline and minimize a squared-off brow look. Hairstyles that emphasize the cheekbones mid-line of the face are most flattering, so short layers (cut into longer hair) that swing foreward onto cheekbones will look great. Bangs and waves at the temple also soften the square of your face. Hair length is best about one inch below the chin, or extending to shoulder length, to reduce and soften the squareness of your jaw. Hair worn on the forehead is always perfect for you, as long as it is wispy or fringed. Never wear straight bangs. Hair turned under at the bottom also will narrow the width of the jaw. Styles in loose curls and waves add extra dimension to the square face in a good way. Styles that round out your hair can decrease the appearance of a square face shape, so adding curl, angled or wispy bangs, and a few wisps on the cheek area will all help. A cut that allows for some height is also a good idea. Wear a side part as opposed to a center part.

50-60's hair styles?

jessica_st

i was wondering what are cute 50-60's hairstyles for a party that i have to go to?

i have long hair f.y.i.
its also havanna nights theme too

Answer
For the younger women, pony tails were very big in the fifties. Also, a short cut called a duck's *ss came in style around 1960 or so. In the early sixties, long straight hair became popular for women (think folk music). As for older women (that is, married women), tightly curled hair ruled in the fifties, but became less tightly curled in the sixties. Perms were very big in the fifties.

If you have your choice between the fifties and sixties, go for the sixties and wear your hair long and straight with some flowers in it -- hippy style, like a little crown of flowers or one stuck behind your ear. Then wear a peasant style dress, a kaftan, or something else long and flowing -- or else tie-dyed.

What Color Should I Dye My Hair And What Brand?

Rachel

So I'm dying my hair an unnatural color for the summer and originally was planning to dye it a bright fire truck red. I'm dying it today or Tomorrow and I'm in between the colors red teal or lilac. I have dark brown hair (I am bleaching) dark brown eyes and a medium skin tone. What color do you think would look best for me and what brand do you recommend ? Thanks so much if you answered!! Have a nice summer!

Answer
Dyeing your hair in the summer is the worst thing that could happen to your hair: Chlorine, the sun, all fades the dye faster and the sun causing your hair to get sunburned more.
Red, white & blue, it will go well for the Fourth!

Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home or salon, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot. Only run color through the lengths for five minutes to refresh the ends. To extend the time between touch-ups, use a gloss and deep -conditioning treatments. They will help smooth cuticles roughed up by daily wear & tear, and the hair will look shinier. ~ Harry Josh, hairstylist of the celebrities.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that the ombre style.

Would most jobs hire with this coloured hair?

That should work. Yes, hair color can matter. I knew a high school girl who needed a summer job, her hair was hot pink or purple, something outlandish. The camp wouldn't give counselors a job if their appearance was too strange. But they were desperate for kitchen help.

The Pompadour Hairstyle?

What is the name of this hairstyle?
I'm not if it's the pompadour?
But this hairstyle has the sides and back shaved, long on top.

Please and Thank you!

It's the first picture on the site.

Answer
It's a fad hairstyle that does not have a commonly recognized name like an ivy league or crew cut and like most fad styles will fully suit relatively few guys. It is sort of like a style that was popular in WWII Germany. A long pompadour does not have the sides and back that short. A short pompadour does. Pompadour is the prior name in the English language for a crew cut and flat top crew cut. Pompadour later became short pompadour when referring to the styles now referred to as a crew cut and a flat top crew cut. If you want that style, don't be concerned with the name; print the photo to describe the style to a hairdresser.

Hair color? Pale skin hazel eyes?

- Aubrey

I have sorta pale skin but not extremely pale and I have darkish hazel eyes. What hair color would look really good on me and bring out the green tones in my eyes? Thanks!!.:)

Answer
I think a brown like this color would be really pretty:

http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/images/light-brown-on-top-and-dark-brown-on-bottom-18129.jpg

Now, if you have hazel eyes and want to make the green in them really POP! then you should choose one of the following (brown hair already brings out green eyes though):

-Get bleach blonde high-lights
-Buy enhancing contacts for green eyes (makes green in hazel eyes look really pretty!)
-Get a green streak! (I really don't recomend this though...)

Good luck! Would you mind answering mine?

Remember, I'm wanting to make my eye color(s) stand out. What color and style of hair would be good for me?

Answer
Your features and colors seem to be really suitable for a natural auburn-red I think. You're so lucky! It will also make your eyes stand out. I'd say this haircolor looks really good with long-ish, straigh or maybe a little bit wavy (not much though, not curly... just slighly) hair. With a darker color, like chesnut, you may look washed out.

Julianne Moore's hair color is the most natural and pretty red tone around I think. And it would let your gorgeous eyes pop out!

Hair coloring?

AZNLUCK

I'm going to get my hair dyed pretty soon, about two or three weeks from now, and right now my hair is jet black, and it's my pride and joy, it's very thick and silky, but I'm getting it dyed a few shades lighter to a dark/medium brown. Do you have any tips on keeping my hair in tip top condition before and after the coloring?

Answer
Always use products for color treated hair like shampoos and conditioners. Do deep hair treatments once a month. Try not to use flat iron too much. Anything with too much heat will damage hair.
For coloring always use professional products.
Then you will be great.
Good luck.

Please Suggest a good hair color product for men which is not harmful to scalp.?

360SD

I am looking for a hair color product for my hair. I have a few grey hair in my naturally black hair on my head. Instead of cutting my grey hair I
just would like to use some touch up product to cover them. So if anyone has a natural product that is good and does not have any adverse side effect on scalp. Please post the brand and name of the product. Thanks in advance.

Answer
I would advise going to a professional for several reasons. One, when men look at their hair they tend to think it's much darker than it really so 9 times out of 10 they choose a color that is too dark and looks unnatural. Two, men are not used to seeing color on their hair. When you use color on your hair it breaks into what is called "underlying pigment". These pigments tend to be very warm in tonality. Most people see them as red or orange. To avoid these unwanted tones you will want to use a color line that is geared specifically towards men. Most men's color lines are designed with the dye loads to cancel these warm underlying pigments. Ones geared towards women are not.
If you use a product like "Just For Men" or "Grecian Formula" you need to understand that these color lines contain metallic salts. Without getting too technical just understand that they can react with the minerals in the tap water (Softened or otherwise) and turn purple. Ever see that old guy in church whose hair looks dark as night with a very odd purple hue? Yeah, you're gettin' the picture!
So, I would recommend that you find a stylist in your area that is familiar with Redken Color Camo. It is a great men's color line that is gentle and very natural looking. No one will ever know you're coloring your hair!

Good luck!

I've been thinking about cutting my long brunette hair (medium to thick texture) for quite a time. I urgently need pics I can take to a salon tomorrow, as I've just got my sister to cut my ponytail off (and my boyfriend is laughing at me)!

What two color highlights should I put in my hair?

armywife_8

I have light brown, straight, chin length hair. And I have very pale skin. I highlighted it about 2 months ago with blonde highlights and I am wanting to put two color highlights in it instead this time. Wondering what two colors would look best for me?

Answer
I can't see your face or your exact hair color. But what I think would look good and also trendy is a honey blonde and a darker strawberry blonde. Both look good with pale skin and light brown hair. Most red heads have pale skin.
Having 3 colors in your hair would look good. Or you could do the dark strawberry blonde and a dark red brown, a color darker than your natural color.
Most salons have color swatches that they can hold up to your hair and skin. Make sure you will like the colors by having the hairdresser do this.
I would stick with these 2 suggestions.
Good Luck and It will look great!

Should i dye my hair blonde or brown & what colour highlights?

sOrandom x

Well, i currently have light brown hair which is dyed.. but i want to colour it either light blonde with golden and dark blonde highlights or really dark brown. But i'm really not sure which to choose?
I have quite fair skin and blue eyes and i am naturally a dark blonde. I have dyed my hair dark brown before which i really liked but i'm not sure whether i should have some blonde in it or maybe highlights?

Any suggestions or pictures would be great.
Thanks
Oh and i am worried about what my eyebrows will look like with the colours since they are really light and more or less non-existence.

Answer
If you already have brunette hair and are looking for ways to save some hard earned, beauty-splurge cash, why not go back to your roots and go the natural route? Despite popular fears that brown hair is boring, there are plenty of spicy ways to add a timeless look to your already beautiful brunette hair.
* Enrich: Enrich your natural color with an allover shade a few shades richer. To add some contrast and interest, ask your stylist to weave in a few copper hair highlights.
* Deepen: Go chocolate! If youâre natural brown borders on moussey, richen it up with a decadent shade of chocolate brown, which will add instant drama with little investment.
* Shine: Shine or color glossing treatments adds sparkle and sheen to dark hair. A glossing treatment can be done in the salon for a bargain price and will instantly add some life to your locks.
* Vanilla and Chocolate: Want the best of both worlds? Brunettes can still play with blonde without a large commitment. Ask your stylist to add a few strategically placed blonde hair highlights around your face to brighten your look while keeping the rest of your color natural.
* Chunk: Although not as trendy as days gone past, statement chunking techniques on a dark base add instant pop and a low maintenance color choice for those seeking a dramatic and bold look. Experiment with shades of blue, blonde, or red chunks. Get creative!

Answer
The first picture looks very intense for my liking but if you really like it I'd suggest dying your hair either a dark brown or blonde and highlighting with that color. That way you'll get the best of both.

Good luck!

Hair Coloring?

I want to dye my hair back to my natural blonde. Does anyone with experience know what I should do specifically? Check out the picture of my original hair color.

Answer
Well, I cannot upload the picture, it said it was currently unavailable or whatever it said. But since you are a bit dark in your main facebook picture, I would go get your hair heavily foiled, with lots of highlights because then when your natural comes back in, then it won't be as obvious.

how to style hair so it wont get messed up by humidity?

LeahLov

ok, so i have really pretty but thick dark brown hair.its usually really smooth also. but its so humid out that i can never straighten or curl my hair because when i do, it goes flat or gets frizzy. how can i style my hair so it wont look so horrible in the humidity? should i try to blow dry it, or air dry it after the shower? should i put mouse or gel in it? any cute style ideas? any advice would be great! thanks!

Answer
In the humidity, if you go against your natural hair, it is just going to be a disaster.
My suggestion is to just let it air dry when you get out of the shower.

Or, what I do is take sections of my hair and pin them up, and leave a few strands out for kind of a boho look. Quite cute.

Typically, if you put your hair up in some sort of messy, cute way, it will be a better solution than trying to fight against the humidity.(:

Hair... Humidity... HELP!?

Detective

Okay so, Im just wondering if there is any possible way for my hair to not go straight when i curl it?? See the scenario is, I curl my hair really nice at home, leave the house and wait for the bus to come, still looking good, i step onto that wretched hot ass bus and it is a 10 mintue drive to my school, during the drive i lower the window to let some air in, which sorta helps, the wind kinds of lowers the humidity... but when the bus stops and we all have to wait for it to be 7:oo and their is NO movement, so its horrible, my hair goes incredibly flat! Its amazing, i have no idea as to WHY this is happening! this is just the tip of the iceberg really, my hair refuses to hold a curl in the first place, and i literally pack on the holding sprays and spritzers. but its almost no use.... but the thing that strikes me the most is that, well, im african american and well, my hair used to be coarse as hell and like the worse condition!!! now its almost like caucasian people hair... its like really silky, way too much, i DONT use any kinds of chemicals ( except for perms ) i dont even put grease in my hair because the slightest bit of grease will make it look TOO greasy and starts to imitate indian peoples hair (so i've been told) . idk, im really stumped so please give me any ideas of what to do?? no shampoos please. and anyone with a reason as to why my hair has changed its curl pattern??
also, i have the newest conair flat iron to curl my hair. its the steam one thingy... and uh, should i stop using it? should i use something esle to curl my hair? wetting it and putting it it rollers doesnt really work for me =/

Answer
what i would do is when ur done with ur hair,
spray an antihumidity hairspray over it lightly
id recommend using John Frieda Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray. it works great 2 hold a style and u can buy it at like walgreens

u said no shampoos,
but the best thing to block bus humidity and weather is,
John Frieda Weather Works shampoo and conditioner
which is specially formulated to block harsh weather
such as rain, wind, humidity, heat, sun =]
good luck

Whats the latest style for older women?

Q. My mom is around 40 now.
I honestly don't know whats in style for her age right now :/ I want to help her when she goes clothes shopping. She has a lot of trouble since she rarely goes shopping, so I want to help her out.
I overall, have a really good sense of fashion. However I'm 15 years old, so of course I cant pick out things I'd wear at this age for her.
May you make an outfit with links to various pieces?
Please help me out ^-^ thank you!
Thanks Miss Kelsey ^ ^ I really appreciate your answer.

As for the first guy who said thongs, you are disgusting. And if you cannot contribute to a question, don't waste our time with your revolting comments.

Answer
EW!! THATS S0 GR0SS! (The person who said thongs)

Okay, I know this is REALLY long but if you care about your mom you'll read it :D

One of the most challenging fashion aspects for women over 40 is how to dress for the changes that are occuring.

"Our bodies are in transition. Our lifestyles are changing. We may be becoming empty nesters, divorcing, starting new jobs," said Gross.

"As your body is changing, so must your clothes," she said. You have to learn how to flatter your body without doing a style overhaul.

And even if you are in the best shape of your life -- she gives 50-something Oprah as an example -- your body is physiologically changing, from thinning hair to ruddier, duller skin.

The key to dealing with the changes and being your best is to refresh your look, said Gross, who is currently working on a book about style over 40.

"Shoes and bags are the quickest way to update your look," said Gross. Women over 40 need to learn how to adapt trends that will work for them, she said.

Most of all you need learn to not hang onto what worked before; undergo what Gross calls a "style evolution" and learn to dress for your new assets.

Fashion Sins for Over 40

Gross said there are a few guidelines that will help you look your best:

Don't dress too young. "The worst thing you can do is to dress younger than you are," said Gross. "It makes you look older."
No miniskirts, regardless of how great your legs are, said this former model (who is thinking about making pillows out of her minis).
Skip baggy clothes and look for pieces that give you shape.
Don't think you can wear the same colors you did in your 20s (at least not against your face).
Don't pick colors from color charts; experiment by trying on different colors when you go shopping. "You'll know it when you see it instantly," she said.
"Trendy is no longer attractive," she said. "Don't worry about the trend of the moment." Instead, she suggested you find a print or a bold piece of jewelry and develop a signature look.
Fashion and Beauty Fixes

Gravity takes its toll on women of a certain age, but Gross said fashion tricks can camouflage most of these problems:

Wrinkled neck - Stand-up or turn-up collars, according to Gross, are a great way to cover that area and bring focus to the face. She mentioned Candace Bergen in "Boston Legal" as a good example of making that look work for her.
Thick in the middle - Add jackets and pieces that will give you shape, she said.
Thinner hair- "Your hair has to suit you. Get a fresh cut," she said. She also said shorter hair gives more of a lift and the variety of new products can improve your hairstyle.
Focus on shoulders and legs - They are the slowest to age, she said. That doesn't mean wearing miniskirts, she said, but you can bring attention to legs with a knee-length skirt and sexy shoes.
Change in coloring - Gross reminded women to lighten up. One tip she got from a chic former fashion director was to always wear a bit of white close to the face. Soft colors -- pale pink, white, beige, ice blue -- bring light to the face, she said.
Get Started Looking Your Best

Look at mature television and movie actresses you admire and emulate their look, said Gross.
Shop at stores that cater to stylish, mature women. Gross listed Chicos, Liz Claiborne, Giorgo Armani, St. John and Escada as a few of the manufacturers and designers who offer great selections for women over 40.
Don't be afraid to experiment. By the time you are 50 you have some sense of what your style is, she said. You probably have the basics down and now it's time to add pizzazz like adding bold glasses or wearing a collar turned up.
Recycle pieces from your closet (with caution). Gross said that some trends can come back and you can revisit them with a twist. She says chain belts are a good example. But she said the classics -- trench coats, Pucci prints, leopard prints -- are the best pieces to keep pulling out.

Long or short hair for women in 20s?

Erica Cart

I have mid-length hair and don't know what to do with it. I'm in my twenties and I'm about 5"2 and slim-- so, 'petite'--and want something really trendy. My hair isn't in the best condition, but I don't know what styles I should look at. What do you think looks best on women in their 20s? Long or short?

Thanks!

Answer
In your twenties your young enough to pull any hairstyle off. :-) What matters more is that the cut flatters your face shape and features.

When I was 19-20 I experimented with this haircut as I have very similar facial features and shape to this actress:
http://www.mtv.com/movies/photos/q/quantum_of_solace_080520/04_olga_kurylenko.jpg
Everyone loved the haircut on me but it did make me look older.. people say short hair makes you look younger.. but not when your still young .. perhaps when you are 40+ it may otherwise you could end up looking older.

I just turned 22 and I now sport long hair with side bangs as I personally missed having length and it's easier to maintain. Trust me if you cut your hair waiting for it to grow out can take awhile.

Here are some examples of female celebs in their 20s who have long or short hair (and look good):

Short (above shoulders)

Guys, which hair color on women is hotter?

im not nic

Be specific, like DARK, MEDium, LIGHT or pale or jet black

Or crazy colors like purple or blue

Answer
I like natural brunettes. I don't like highlights or hair dye.

Actually, I dig natural in general. I don't want a barbie doll (drama).

No make-up, no trendy fashionista, no fake hair, no fake nails.

Good hygiene and keeping yourself well-kept are the hottest things you can do. ;) Be smart -- those are possibly the most attractive qualities in a girl. Funny is a plus too.

I'm simple.

What hair color suits for indian brown skintone with black eyes?

miss senor

so i am bored with auburn, mahogany and reds i wanna try something which makes me look a bit fairer /brighter , pls suggest some hair colors with brand

Answer
The color you're born with. All children of God (no matter which God) are all BEAUTIFUL.

Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 36 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloweâen party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time. Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that donât contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they donât, are not being honest. âBig brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour,â she explains.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

How to curl dyed hair and also what is proper care for it?

Katelan Hu

I just got my hair dyed yesterday (ombre) and I have no idea how to properly care for it. I have dye safe shampoo and conditioner, but that's all I really know about caring for dyed hair. My hairdresser decided to curl my hair and it looked amazing (I have naturally straight hair). How do you safely curl dyed hair? My hair is in pretty great condition when it comes to the health of it. Some sites said that I need to use a heat-protectant or some other product, others said that I do not have to. And would a flat iron or curling iron work best? Any other tips for dyed hair care and curling would be grateful! Thank you!

Answer
Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. If they're dyed, avoid using heat. HEAT PROTECTION, does not protect hair 100%. Like using sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Same with hair. Hair products are not made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged or hair loss, they ARE A TRILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS, and the hair industry also do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals.

One method to make it look fuller, add body, tame the curls, bouncier, thicker, SEXIER, softer & shinier hair is to set your hair with plastic curlers (not Velcro) after you towel dry, you'll end up with uniform balance of curls. Blow dry briefly while curling them in curlers. Take them out, and finger comb to style. When you're finished, use your fingers to shake your hair allowing it to fall naturally into place. Used by the best hair color models, and the fashion industry, like Victoria Secret Fashion Show Dec. 2009, 2010, & 2011, America's Next Top Models, EXPRESS, Toddlers & Tiaras, Dance Moms, Dancing with the Stars, Kris Jenner (was shown with curlers before a meeting while in her office - then took the curlers out and tousle with her fingers ready to go), Kim Kardashian, even used on Oprah's hair . . . . and continued to be used today where salons care about pampering your hair. When you see hair on TV a hair color commercial, they're not done by curling or straightening tools. Hair that shines like that and feels like hair, not hay, has to be done by the best hair tools available w/out damaging to the hair. When you take the curlers out, finger comb to style or lightly brush. Tousle the hair up. or shake your hair. You can use large, medium or small curlers, that depends on the length of your hair. Think of JLo's hair, she was voted as the Sexiest Woman by People magazine and Glamour's Woman of the Year 2011.

If your hair is straight, braid your hair in several sections when they're damp, then in the morning take the braids out, finger comb, they will be curly & thick for days!

Another way to find the secret to beautiful hair? Find someone with beautiful healthy curls or silky, shiny (not greasy) straight hair and ask him or her to share secrets, preferably someone who is 40-60 years older than YOU. I have 5 decades, so you're getting the answers you need, right here! I won't charge you a penny!
Better yet, watch Pretty Woman - Julia Roberts's hair in that movie! In the 90's, they didn't have many hair products or heating tools and they also styled her hair many ways!

What are some cute hair styles for short hair to your shoulders?

Dominique

So I used to have long hair and then some Biatch cut too much off and now the length is at my shoulders and its in layers so I cant even do a simple braid! I hate leaving it down because it looks super ugly and the only style Ive been wearing it as is in a messy bun. My hair is thick so if If I try a hair style its very hard to keep up and bobby pins dont even work?! If I curl my hair I look like sherly Temple .-. What do I do?

Answer
My hair is down to my knees & it's thick. This is one of my 100 hairstyles I do for my hair. Bobby pins ARE not the only hair accessories found @ Rite-Aid, Walgreens, etc. They have new ones you can use. My other favorite is claw clips or butterfly clip. Try to be creative. My hairstyles takes 2-10 mins.

HOW TO STYLE MEDIUM HAIR:
Do a classic side part and keep hair down all day.
Pull back big curls to show off your pretty face, by using headbands.
Flip up the ends, a la Mary Tyler Moore.
Make your undo as unique as your color.
Tease that crown. Smooth, headband, done.
Go for long layers and a natural-looking shade of brown, the girl next doo 'do!
Try an overside Material Girl-inspired bow.
Pony up. Can't go wrong with this simple style.
Give ruby red hair a sophisticated twist front, make a bun on the back.
Tuck two cornrows into a neat little bun.
Tie on a ribbon. Blair Waldorf would approve!
Creat a cutesy side-swept fishtail braid.
Bring on the Technicolor to update a retro look.
Try DIY hair accessories - no rules apply!
Weave ribbon into a braided headband.
Wear a chill beanie and let your hair be.
Mix leave-in conditioner and alcohol-free gel to style springy, crunch-free curls. Wear a fedora hat.
Do you like the movie the Hunger Games? I haven't seen it, but I saw it briefly during their trailer. My hairstyle (for weeks) came from the movie, and have seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Magazines called that the Goddess look or the Halo crown. I've seen it in The Savages. Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12.

THINK BIG: The new blowout is all about big, bouncy volume. Start blow-drying hair with a large barrel brush, set in loose pin curls for 10 minutes, then shake out until ends are wavy.
Grunge rock and roll meets retro punk - example Kristen Stewart @ the MTV Award. Sexy, textured and undone hair.
Soft updos and silk scarves at Dolce & Gabbana. The summery hair at Dolce was anchored by beautiful printed scarves that hairstylist Guido Paulo wrapped around textured, pulled-apart updos. He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. To keep the headband from looking severe, Paulo left a few centimeters of the hairline exposed, covered the very tops of the ears with the scarf, and tied it on the side.

How to style thick medium length hair?

Ashea

So I have medium length hair (about 2 inches past my shoulder) and it's pretty thick and I have no idea what to do with it, and I don't mean like how to cut it, I mean what to do with it like updos or how to curl it or stuff like that. I have tried my best to put it up in a bun but it's really hard, have any tips. And I can't curl it either, I just want ideas on how to wear it. Any suggestions help.
Thanks :)

What causes your hair to be the color it is?

What happens in your head that makes your hair the color it is? Where does the color go when you get older and you get gray hair?

Answer
I am no scientist but I know it starts in your genes . Each hair on our heads is made up of two parts:a shaft - the colored part we see growing out of our heads
a root - the bottom part, which keeps the hair anchored under the scalp
The root of every strand of hair is surrounded by a tube of tissue under the skin that is called the hair follicle (say: fah-lih-kul). Each hair follicle contains a certain number of pigment cells. These pigment cells continuously produce a chemical called melanin (say: meh-luh-nin) that gives the growing shaft of hair its color of brown, blonde, red, and anything in between.
Melanin is the same stuff that makes our skin's color fair or darker. It also helps determine whether a person will burn or tan in the sun. The dark or light color of someone's hair depends on how much melanin each hair contains.
As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.People can get gray hair at any age. Some people go gray at a young age - as early as when they are in high school or college - whereas others may be in their 30s or 40s before they see that first gray hair. How early we get gray hair is determined by our genes.
Gray hair is more noticeable in people with darker hair because it stands out, but people with naturally lighter hair are just as likely to go gray. From the time a person notices a few gray hairs, it may take more than 10 years for all of that person's hair to turn gray.

Should I get a classic style or more punky cut?

Kait

I really like both vintage (like 40s) and more rocker/punk/grungy styles. I need to do something with my hair, should I get a cut more suitable to do the classic hair styles or go for it and get a more edgy hair cut and colour?

Answer
go for it man. edgy hair will make you stand out more and you can express yourself through it alot easier then you can with classic cuts. and it looks better with.. COLOR ! :)

My school has a very strict dress code, and I have to wear plain tee shirts, but I hate the blah factor. How do I make them more trendy? Dress code is have to be able to lift your arms above your head without showing your stomach, must have straps wider than two inches for tank tops and no black, death-ish things. Thanks!

Answer
1. Big, bright necklaces. Like really colorful ones.
(I didn't make this, someone else on Y!A did, but its really nice so I wanna show you.)
http://www.polyvore.com/uniform_no_problem/set?id=21340968
That particular outfit is really expensive. But it gives you an idea of how to transform a uniform.
2. A nice colorful back pack could also help you stand out more.
3. Do you wear skirts or pants or what? For whichever, a stylish belt could make it look a lot nicer, and less "blah" Also, you can wear the belt right over your stomach (on your shirt). That always looks nice! (But for that you'd need one of those big belts.
4.If you wear skirts, try some leggings sometimes, too. There are soo many different types. You can try different colors.
5. Or you can pair some shorts with some colorful leggings.
6. Shoes! Pick shoes that stand out!
7. I really liked adding a bow or a tie to my shirt when I had a uniform. You can get different types (I had a red and white stripped one with skulls from Hot Topic).
8. You can get a vest too! And a nice jacket.
9. You can get interesting socks. Hot Topic has plenty. Knee or thigh highs are the cutest. If you can't get anything too colorful or distracting, they have some that are pretty simple too. Another cute substitute is leg warmers.
10. Head bands and hair bows! And how you do your hair counts, too! Bubzbeauty has really great videos on some quick, unique hair styles (very easy) (and videos on skin care and makeup)
11. Suspenders! I love those :P
12. Scarfs! Soo cute and really change an outfit.

Lol soo many things pop up if you just google "how to change a school uniform" or stuff like that! Good luck.
