Salons in Dallas, TX that specialize in natural African American hair?

Leshion

I'm leaving my hair natural and I want to find a good salon to recommend some products for my hair that will give me the hair texture I want. Thank you for any suggestions!

Answer
African American Hair Salons in Dallas is an article that wants to give some information about these hairdressers.

Day by day your hair must look neat and nice. One of the things you do before you leave your home is to brush and dress your hair to look as nice as possible. Itâs important to do this because hair can give a lot of clues about a person. So you must take care of your hair daily, weekly, briefly said as often as it is necessary.

But what you can do if you want a different and elegant hair dress for a party or a special event? Or you merely want to change your look? You can do it home, by yourself but the result might not be according your expectations or they can be awful. The easiest and the best ways to get what you want are to go to a hair salon close by your place or to one recommended by somebody. Especially if you want a hairdresser that implies straighten, flat iron or color change, it is advisable to let you hair on experienced hands.

Where can I buy "Punky Hairdye" in Vancouver?

Jocelyn Ch

I was wondering where I can buy punky colour hair dye :) In BC Vancouver ^^ thanks!
I dont think that there is hot topic in vancouver :P

Answer
Shopper's Drug Mart, any Sally's Beauty Supply store (if there is one), or you can try any other beauty supply store and they should have it :]

Caught shoplifting in Vancouver, BC.. What could happen?

Q. Today I was caught shoplifting at Shoppers Drug Mart. I took a nail polish and made it just out the door when an undercover security guard stopped me. At first he accused me of taking nailpolish and lipstick, but I showed him the nail polish and admitted to my wrong. He took me to the back of the store and asked for my ID. He wrote down my name, address, birthday and hair color and height. When I asked what was going to happen he said "nothing, you will just not be allowed back in the store". He did not make me sign anything, he did not call the police and he didn't even take a picture of me. He asked if I wanted to pay for the item and I said no thanks and then I left. That was it. BUT I am worried and scared that I will receive something in the mail, like a fine. Or could he give my information to the police and get a warrant for me? I just want to know what could possibly happen now.

I also wanted to get some advice. I was wondering if I should maybe e-mail an apology to Shoppers. I feel very guilty and like a terrible human being.

Before any of you reply with negative comments please know that I am remorceful and very regretful. This is the first time I have ever tried to steal anything. I do not know what posessed me to do so as I could have afforded to just buy the nail polish. I will never ever even think about trying to steal something ever again.

Answer
First off, let me say I work Loss Prevention, one of those guys that stopped you. Second, let me assure you nothing will happen except you MAY receive a VERY SMALL bill in the mail from the store. It does not go on your record, and you do not have a warrant. This is because to save time and money, stores to not prosecute unless it is over a certain amount (my store is $50). Due to the fact you did not sign anything, you probably won't even get a bill.

Now, you are not under any circumstances allowed back in the store. If you are seen in there, you will be cited for trespassing, which is a worse offense than petty theft (no joke). Also, don't do it again.

If you would like to write an apology note, you can. My associates and I always get a kick out out them :)

How Do Black Women Get their Hair like this?

Brittany

I really like this hair style and seen many black women wearing it like this.
But Ive tried by myself and failed :(

Also -once the hair style is complete Does it hurt??
and is it easy to take off or would I need help??

http://www.black-haircuts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/african-braids-hairstyles-2013.jpg

Answer
It doesn't really hurt but you will feel a pinch because its done new, and tightly to stay in.

It's basically braiding fake hair into our natural hair

Go to 2:15 seconds to see summary how she does this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLuv7EJzpbk

You can get it done at most african salons

I do the twist version because theyre much much easier to take off, but braids would last longer if you dont have curly hair

Hope it goes well, buy the hair yourself from those indian hair/cosmetic shops, much cheaper (£2-£3 per pack) and you can take your time to match it to your natural hair colour or choose an alternative

usually called kanekalon hair but there are others:
http://image.dhgate.com/albu_283718369_00-1.0x0/10pcs-lot-x-pression-braids-120g-52inch-color1.jpg

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTA4MFgxMzUw/$T2eC16dHJHoE9n3KgJBnBQhyold4IQ~~60_35.JPG

Generally about £40+ to get done depending on length and how small

What are some cute hairstyles?

Q. I'm getting my hair cut soon and I want it to be styled differently. I want to get side bangs. Kind of like scene hair sidebangs. Any suggestions? Please include a link if you can. Thanks :)

LOL - For lingerie, I just mean underwear/bras : )
You guys are awesome...thanks for the lovely answers so far...rock on : )

Answer
BEAUTY:
1) What's your favorite color on you, or a color that someone has always complimented you on?
Green is my "signature color," and I receive the most compliments when I'm wearing it because it accentuates my eyes and suits my vibe. I favor vibrant colors like scarlet red, indigo, cobalt blue, and fuchsia, so they are the runners-up to green.
2) What is the one product [for skin, hair, teeth, etc] that you could not live without?
California Baby Chemical-Free SPF 30 because without sunblock I'd have to live my life nocturnally, as a hermit. or in sunburnt agony. I have a very fair peaches and cream complexion that begins to look like like molten strawberries after prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun. My second choice would be toothpaste.
3) What color are your eyes, and what is your favorite eye color?
My eyes are a blue-green that appear to change in hue depending on what I'm wearing. Some people swear I have blue eyes, but in actuality they are more green with aqua undertones. My favorite eye color is my boyfriend's: a sweet, pure, sky blue.
4) Describe your favorite summer outfit. Would you wear it to school?
An uber-comfortable, delightfully adorable sundress paired with flip-flops and simple jewelry like a bracelet I'll wear around my upper arm and a necklace is my favorite outfit. I wouldn't wear it to school because we have uniforms.
5) What aspect of your body do you love?
Everything. My body is far from being flawless, but I am proud that it is mine, and I treat it with care and respect.
6) What is your signature scent?
I match my scent to my mood, so it varies from Lush's lovely mix of lavender, sage and vanilla in their American Cream perfume bar, to the spunky, scrumptious scent of Pacifica's Tuscan Blood Orange
to Stella McCartney's sophisticated, sensuous rose and amber perfume.
7) What do you buy your lingerie?
I buy my lingerie almost exclusively from Stella McCartney. Her entire line is vegan, beautifully made, and cleverly designed. I buy my "Booty Pops" from Kitson, my cheeky day-of-the week underwear from Paul Frank, and the bras I mainly wear to school and working out from Lululemon and Victoria's Secret.
http://www.bootypoppanties.com/
8) Do you know of any good places to get an awesome sundress?
I love the sundresses from Anthropologie, Juicy, Free People, and Planet Blue, but I'm not sure if those stores are available in your area. Here are the links to a few of my favorite online stores:
http://www.modcloth.com/
http://www.polkadotsandmoonbeams.com/instyle/dept.asp?s_id=0&dept_id=3078
http://store.delias.com/frontpage.do?topnavTrack=frontpage&incmpid=TB
http://www.artfulwears.com/
this is a great all-purpose site:
http://www.chictopia.com/
9) What do you do to keep in awesome shape for summer?
I surf most mornings, and it's an excellent way of staying in shape and starting the day on a happy note. I also bike, hike, skateboard, run, rollerblade, swim, do yoga and pilates, and play tennis and volleyball, and just in general try to avoid driving whenever possible.
10) Do you think you are beautiful?
Absolutely. And so are you. Being beautiful is more about your character and your life philosophy than aesthetics.
ACADEMICS/INTELLECTUAL:
1) Do you think you are a good student?
Yes. I work hard to be an excellent student.
2) If you're a senior or in university, what advice would you give to other people in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade?
Never cave in to your fears. Try out for the team even if you are afraid you won't make it; go for the leadership role of the club or newspaper; study abroad if you have the opportunity to even if you are worried about being homesick, and take the challenging courses even if you fear they may lower your GPA because colleges will most likely be impressed by your willingness to take academic risks. A recruiter for Yale once told me that a B and even a C in a class like AP Calculus looks better on your GPA than an A in a regular math class. Be passionately curious. Allow yourself to creatively and intellectually roam and experiment. But always keep your focus. Set your goals and don't allow anything or anyone to distract you for pursuing them.
3) Do you have a dream college? Have you been accepted? Do you think you can be accepted?
Yes, I've dreamed of going to Stanford since I was 11, and I was accepted.
4) Are you going to do any work for the summer to prepare for the coming year?
I am taking a gap year in between high school & college this upcoming year to intern, volunteer and work on my art and music, and this summer I'll prepare for the year ahead by carefully fine-tuning my plans and getting everything into place, reading and exploring. I'm heading off to China in late July to sing at a few venues and then to Brazil in August with my mom on a humanitarian mission, and I think those experiences will give me new perspectives that will enrich my upcoming year.
5) Are you involved in community service/extracurricular activities? What makes you different than the next student?
Yes, I am a committed volunteer in my community and involved in numerous school activities. I am a volunteer dance teacher three Saturday mornings a month at a center for underprivileged children downtown; I participate in the beautification of inner-city schools by painting murals; I belong to a music ministry that performs at nursing homes and homeless shelters, and I help to plan the fundraising events that my school hosts. I am incredibly involved at my school with everything from student council to the literary magazine, Model UN, Art Club, Student Ambassadors and
several sports.

IN GENERAL:
1) Do you feel you are a confident person?
Yes. In order to live a successful, fulfilling life you must believe in yourself, and nothing is more magnetic or attractive than confidence.
2) What do you wear to make you feel awesome about yourself?
A necklace my grandmother gave to me that makes me feel awesome because she was awesome, and her pure love for me was..... awesome.
3) When feeling insecure, what do you do to make yourself feel better?
I put on a song and dance, I go surfing and feel the strength of the waves beneath my feet, I call my mom because she is a great esteem booster, I pray, and I banish negative thoughts.
4) Is life...beautiful? : )
Live is fragile, ephemeral, turbulent, unpredictable, unfair, complex, hard, precious, extraordinary, exhilarating, and very beautiful.
5) Is this 2009-2010 going to be the best year yet for you?
Thus far it's been a struggle, but it's taught me and molded and matured me more than any other time in my life, and I am very optimistic about the months ahead.

I hope you have the loveliest summer yet, sweet girl, and that everyday of it you live fully, laugh heartily, and are happy.

Australian fashion trends and hair?

katzcream

Does any one know anything about this? I need to make a mood board about Australian fashion. In particular the hair styles. any in sight would be very much appreciated. Thanx

Answer
Fashion is all about being comfortable in what you are and looking great! Who doesnât want to be fashionable! Irrespective of whether you are aware of the ongoing fashion trends or not, looking stylish and being fashionable has always been something you have craved for. Fashion varies with time and location. People of different place have different fashion taste. The fashion trends of different places around the world are exclusive in their own way. For example, modern Australia has a unique fashion style that can be clearly distinguished from European fashion lines. Australian fashion has a lot more casual approach compared to European fashion. Australian fashion also reflects a vivacious, creative, rich in color, fresh and exuberant style.

is that even possible
and would it be cute ?

Answer
i cut my own hair and i get loads of compliments
scene kids / emos always cut their own hair
its just the rich people and wanabes that go to the salon
so if your gona cut it your self ill help
get rid of your parting and comb all your hair towards the front
and then cut your self in a diagonal fringe and then on the other side do a little staircase haircut and then feather it (cutting upwards) so it doesnt look weird and then get hair towards the top about a few inches down and then chop them off and feather it... then backcomb the roots and hairspray
now you have scene hair :)

Home hair colours? Good idea or bad idea?

Laura Y

Hey all!

I have been faithfully attending my local hairdresser for the past 4 years. I have gradually gone darker and darker with my colours and now she colours my hair black. I love it black but it fades back to brown so quickly.

I was always told that home hair colours are really bad for your hair but how true is this? Would it be really bad for me to use a semi-permanent black colour in my hair now? (this credit crunch has me totally broke!)

Thanks you guys! :)

Answer
i think that home hair color can sometimes mess up but if ur brave enough to try it then go on and do it. i have a friend and her mom has colored her hair 4 like 8 or 9 years and it's always worked ands she also has dark hair. it could work because you have dark hair and ur just goin darker so u should be fine just make sure you follow all the directions. i know that always goin 2 the salon to get it colored can make u broke and home hair color is way cheaper. Good Luck!!!

Is Hair Color a Care for Guys?

Rainbows L

My cousin will only date blonds, my uncle's into red heads and I'm a brunette. I tend to see so many blond girls giggling with their boyfriends, so I have to ask - Do you care about hair color?!
I'm personally fine in the dating area, as a brunette, but people tend to think I'm a dirty blond? IS the blond theory right?

Answer
Hair color matters most of the time. I love them all but I prefer brunette. It's as simple as, do you like a guy that's muscular or a guy that's fat?

What you have is sexy as well because two-toned hair is just... well... sexy. (No, not hitting on you.)

A guy just finds that particular item sexy is all.

hair color help (GUYS)?

Han B

ok so do guys really prefer blondes over brunettes???
what hair color do you find the most appealing?

im just curious

Answer
I definitely don't think so. It really depends for the guy (but I know people hate it when I say that). The truth is: (you sure you want to hear it?)

Guys freakin love brunettes (I know I certainly do). We do not prefer brunettes over blondes, that would be a ridiculous thing to say. One of the only reasons that someone would think that is because blondes are usually featured in magazines. But this is really only because their hair is much lighter, making the sun reflect off of it more. Plus their hair is the color of the sand. But hey, swear to God, men don't have some kind of weird paranormal attraction to blondes.

What hair do I find most appealing? Well, hey, if I happened to meet a blonde, then the hair I find most appealing is blonde. If I happened to meet you, which I take to be a brunette, then Goddamn, brown hair is sexy!

It's less about the hair and more about the way you are. Carry an open smile (remember to smile with your eyes) and have that little bounce in your step. You're obviously concerned with how guys see you (which is why you directed this question for guys). So I'm telling you: we don't care what color your hair is. We care about who you are and how well you take care of us and let us take care of you.

I'm actually about to ask my own question, but I hoped this helped somewhat. Stay cool.

Conditioning Color Gloss?

Melanie

I have redken ash blonde conditioning color gloss but what is it for and how do I apply it and how long to keep it in??

Answer
The conditioning gloss adds shine to your hair and keeps the colour from looking dull. Thats pretty much what its for.

Keep it in for about two minutes then wash it out.

What is a color gloss in your hair?

girlyy

I want to get my hair done and heard someone talking about a color gloss that has a demipermanent color. For anyone that knows what this is, i have a few questions. Ive never died my hair before so really dont want to do this if Im going to have to keep up on it. Do i get to pick the color? I have medium light brown hair and if it eventually goes away and goes back to my natural tint then i would pick something like dark brown or red for a change, but I def dont want it to be permanent. Please someone help if you know anything about this,

Thanks!

Trendy hairstyle?

Freulein J

I'm going for a haircut soon. But i'm not sure what sort of hairstyle is nice and fashionable. I have long straight hair above my waist. And it's black.
Is there any nice hairstyle that's in trend around ur areas?
Like absolute layered or anything for fringe too? ^^ Thanks

Answer
I think the best answer for you is too...look at some books and go for a consultation, when looking in books try to find a style that has similar hair as yours this will ensure a good style for you...(if your hair is thin and no volume, a thick haired cut wont work as you don't have the volume),etc... as it appears that you have had long hair for awhile now...don't do anything too drastic...the holidays are coming up and you want to be comfortable...maybe something long about the middle of your bra length...with some long layers that start about the bottom of your ear...this way you can have some much needed volume...also I think that maybe you could have some golden brown highlights put in your hair, to give it some depth...don't try to go blonde this will turn your hair orange it takes a few times to bleach out your hair to get it blonde, and you will have lots of root touch ups, this can be costly...also if you keep it bra length, you can still pull it back in pony...on those bad hair days....shorter hair required products and alot of time to fix daily...

GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU FIND A HAIRSTYLE THAT WORKS....

Make sure you have a GOOD feeling in your GUT, about the person that cuts your hair...once it's cut you won't be able to go back....only time will fix it...

Trendy hairstyle for curly hair?

LouLou

My hair basically looks like my avatar. About 5" past my shoulders, long layers. I've had this style for like 8 years. I'd really like a change but everytime I look online, the styles are very similar to what I have now. My curls are loose though too, more wavy, but coarse. Any ideas or know of any good websites. Thanx!

Answer
I have the exact same hair that you described.
I can't really find any hairstyles that suit me unless I got to a hair salon and they do my hair for me.
Other hairstyles require to blow dry, curl or straighten hair which is to damage for your hair so I just scrunch my hair and let it air dry, when I go out or when its a special occasion THEN I switch it up.

You can do all kinds of hairstyles GIRL!
Get a curling iron or a straightening iron.....you can do spirl curls, you can flip your hair....you can get LOOSE curls.....you can put half your hair up and half your down......SO many!!

GOOD LUCK<3

Im 15 years old guy and i want a new hairstyle. Whats a nice looking style for 2013
(Links would help)

Answer
Not a mullet. No matter what they say, do not do it. They are SOO ugly!! I personally like the "twisted quiff" on this page:
http://www.beauty-and-the-bath.com/Mens-Short-Trendy-Hairstyles-Gallery.html
Its my favorite so I don't like anything else but I would suggest keeping it short. Long hair is kind of gross. But not TOO short! You need some style in there! Good luck with the ladies ;)

Which Asian hairstyle looks the best out of these 3?

(PS: Thank you! Of course, you can recommend a hairstyle for me thats not on the list as well.) Thank you, and choosing 10 points for Best Answer :)

Answer
It is difficult to say because you don't show pictures of your hair and face shape. If you have straight hair like usual asian mens hair, then I recommend trying something trendier like the undercut hairstyle (see below)

The undercut hairstyle according to The Men's Hair Forum (huge thread with ideas and variations)
http://www.menshairforum.com/talk/Thread-Undercut-Hairstyle-How-to-Haircut-Pictures-Products-OFFICIAL-thread

The undercut hairstyle according to Manly Curls and styling expert Rogelio
http://www.manlycurls.com/2013/07/military-haircuts-men-short-hairstyles-guide/

Those hairstyles you put (long taper) are too predictable and will require that you go to the hairdresser frequently to get the taper right and evened. With the undercut hairstyle you can do it yourself at home easily, all you need is a good hair clipper like the ones discussed in this thread in The Men's Hair Forum
http://www.menshairforum.com/talk/Thread-Hair-clippers-for-men-any-good-ones

I mean nothing wrong with those lengthy hairstyles you posted but they look very generic. A cool asian hairstyle as an undercut can look great especially if you follow the advice in the pages linked, plus the undercut is easy and fast to do anyway. However if you want more hairstyle inspiration ideas for lengthy hair like in your pictures, check this inspiring hairstyle thread for long hair men also in The Men's Hair Forum
http://www.menshairforum.com/talk/Thread-Long-Hair-Men-Hairstyles-Pictures-Haircuts-How-to

I hope these hair ideas I'm giving you open more hairstyle ideas for you! If you have straight hair, then your hair is ideal for undercut hairstyles and long hairstyles, you really are blessed and I'm a bit jealous LOL! :-)

Make up tips. I have dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and light skin.?

Bunny

what colors do you think would be best on me.
Blush?
eyeshadow?
lipstick?
eyeliner?
lipliner?
any help would be appreciated.

Answer
I have the exact same features as you.
This is what I wear:
Blush - L' Oreal True Match in innocent flush (it's a coral colour)
Eyeshadow - Any browns, green, bronze, plum, or champagne colours will make your eyes pop
Lipstick - Mocha brown, nude, rosy pink, or toffee coloured lipsticks will go wonderfully
Eyeliner - Brown, plum, green, or gold always look good. Black is also equally good, just as long as you wear it thin, and only on the top eyelid unless you're going out at night.
Lipliner - Hmm, I don't wear any lip liner. But I guess that's just me. I would suggest a rosy pink colour for the days that you want to go natural. (:
Tip: In case you're wondering, the shade of eyebrows you should wear is 3 shades lighter than the colour of your hair if you're brunette. If you're blonde, it's 3 shades darker.
Although I have light skin, it may not be as light as yours. My mom is very pale and my dad is dark, so I'm more on the light olive yellow tone.

Hope I helped! (:

I have a fair to medium skin tone, hazel eyes and plum hair... eyeshadow and lipstick colour?

I recently died my hair plum colour, it really suits my fair to medium and faintly freckled skin tone and hazel eyes. I want to dye my hair again just before school a more reddish colour, but I don't know what eyeshadow colour or lipstick colour to go for, help please :) xxx

Answer
I have the same features...for eyeshadow I find that pinks and purples look good, makes the green in the hazel stand out. Also like gold and bronze eye shadows. I use 3 shades in the same color and put the lightest on my brow bone, next darker one below that and darkest lining my lid. for lipstick I go red thats kind of based on brown or more of a burgundy if I'm trying to be dramatic but really I just go with lip gloss. Hope that helps

How to change your hairstyle?

Anonymousl

So ive had the same boring hairstyle since forever, i mean i occasionally get haircuts, but their always the boring same old same old.Now i do my hair a little different, on the top i mess it up and make it go all directions, and i play with my bangs and make them go all around. But what hairstyle would go well with my face and all. Please answer this, i really need a new look.Im in 9th grade!

Answer
Your face would be perfect for these kind of styles. All you need is a tiny amount of gel to make it look soft instead of crunchy like some people do.

50's hairstyles for short hair?

Jessica

My hair lays on my neck (about an inch or two from my shoulders), short layers and side bangs.

I love the 50's bandana hairstyle and the swirly bang style, are those possible with short hair?

I have thick hair, but it's flat on top and in the back.

How can I tease my hair without it looking like a scene kid did it?

Please help!

Answer
MANY hairstyles of the 50's were not always teased. My mom, my sister and I styled our hair back then NOT TEASED.

Google short 50's hairstyles. 1,590,000 results

If you want fuller, softer, silkier hair, use bobby pins to set them or plastic curlers.

Curlers were used in the 40's even NOW, where salons love to pamper your hair without damage by using HEAT or curling irons.

Another way to find the secret to beautiful hair? Find someone with beautiful healthy curls or silky, shiny (not greasy) straight hair and ask him or her to share secrets, preferably someone who is 40-60 years older than YOU. I have 5 decades, so you're getting the answers you need, right here! I won't charge you a penny!
Better yet, watch Pretty Woman - Julia Roberts's hair in that movie! In the 90's, they didn't have many hair products or heating tools and they also styled her hair many ways!

What is your opinion on "older" women dressing "younger"?

Q. Does it bother you when a woman, say 50 years old, wears a mini skirt a half-top and wears her hair long and/or dyed like someone in her 20's?

Do you think she should dress more conservatively to reflect her age such as in longer skirts and maybe a shorter hairstyle?

Why do you think so?

Answer
I'd say everyone should wear whatever they want and express themselves freely. That said, if you push certian norms (age being one of them) you may get some second looks.

Will red hair go good with caramel skin?

- Jayee Ba

I am thinking about dying it red but not like dark red, i have dark brown eyes .
I am thinking about highlights too, but i do not know what color to have ?
Any ideas , suggestions ?
Actually i am black and white , as you can see in my pictures .
I went reddish brown before but i want it brighter .
i am getting my hair relaxed before because its super curly .

I have a badd a___ attitude , and i dont anyone boss me around , ime really .... headstrong (:
So , fire red will match my attitude .

Answer
If you have caramel skin, then you must be latina, Im guessing. Red is ok. But it wont contrats with your skin color.

Hair color for a latina girl?

Q. Okay so I have brown hair and I want to dye it black. I have medium long hair, and my skin is a light brown and I have dark brown eyes. I want to know what color of black hair would look best on a Latina with my preferences. Blue black, dark brown black, raven black, jet black..Etc. What do you think?

Answer
i would say get it done professionally. they do it better then boxed hair dye it has more um "depth" to it because its not just a plain dull shade throughtout the whole head. not blue black that isnt cute on most ppl.....either dark brown or raven black

Who has the hotter hair color blondes or brunettes??

Q. Just wondering...btw I don't want too hear about 'em redheads or black haired...they are very pretty, sure but I want to know about the blondes and the brunettes.

Answer
I've had both hair colors and here is what i've learned:

Blondes get more attention, but it's harder to maintain blonde haircolor with the roots and whatnot. It also dries out your hair. I got away with being ditzy with blonde hair, though. People kind of have pre-established assumptions about blondes.

Brunettes are considered sexier and I felt like my hair was in MUCH better condition. The only thing was I got "sad" with darkness surrounding my face. That may just be me. Going brunette was a fun change, except when I kept being ditzy, people rolled their eyes more.

-question about hair colour?

Ariana

my cousin sophie is dyed brunette, but her natual hair colour gingerish auburn, can she still tan?

Answer
Technically, hair color shouldn't affect the pigmentation of the skin and prevent sun tanning. If she has red hair by nature, then she may have skin more sensitive than others. I know a couple of red heads who beat me in the tanning department and I am from Portugal. I'm sure if she uses the right type of coverage in the sunblock department she should be fine. But please refer to the listed website below for further information based on skin pigment.

If you're referring to her hair color however... it will lighten with sunlight, your best bet is to either wear a hat, or perhaps put in a leave in conditioner when dedicating a day to the sun.

I'm having a halloween party, how can I make it a good one?

The cooles

I'm 16 and I'm having a halloween/birthday party, with about 20 people at my house.
How shall I make it a great party?
Food, music, drink... any ideas?
It would be really helpful, thanks :D
And...
I'm a girl, my parents will not be home and by drink I don't mean soda :)

Answer
Well you should have everyone wear costumes (obvs)
Have contests for like hottest costume, scariest, most detailed, etc.

Maybe have a bonfire themed halloween party -
- Marshmellows + graham crackers + chocolate is a must!(: lol
- Have a bonfire of course in the middle n have everyone sit around it!
- tell scary stories(:
- have tents maybe to chill in?
- gotta have some awesome background music right? just play upbeat music, and throw in some scary/dark sounding music, gotta play "thriller," by micheal jackson!(:
- jam out!
- karoake?
- wat's a party w/ out havin tasty, lip smacking food right? like hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken on a stick, fruit kabobs?
- have sing-a-longs? lol
- dance off maybe? or freeze (where u everyone dance n when the music goes off u gotta freeze whoever moves is out, last person wins a prize?)
- giveout glow sticks and pretty lanters/candles to hang around
- there are these little sticks that turn the fire different colors
and make sure you take lots of pics for memories(: they last a lifetime!
Here is a link for bonfire ideas: http://www.ehow.com/how_4772361_throw-beach-bonfire-party.html

Here are some websites that might help...
Food: http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/halloween-recipes/ (hot wings, deviled eggs, pizza, lots of candy like candy corn, chocolate, jelly beans, licorice, etc.) here are some black cocktails: http://www.celebrations.com/content/black-cocktail-black-gin
Supplies: http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?requestURI=viewEndecaCategory&categoryId=388560+1237&BP=8882&source=google&cm_mmc=google-_-OTC+Halloween+Supplies-_-Party+Supply+-+Halloween+-+Halloween+Party+Supplies-_-9a38d8a9cb4047648458f89f0f8e2ec5&ms=search
Decor ideas: put fake spiders and bugs all around, fake webs, tombstones,

Activities:
- spin the bottle
- 7 minutes in heaven
- baby if you love me - its where they sit on their lap and say "Baby if you love me, won't you please smile?" They can play with that player's hair or whisper in their ear or act loving or anything that will get them to laugh.
- dance offs/contests
- freeze its where everyone dances and when the music stops everyone freezes, if you move your out, last person wins a prize?
- truth or dare
- hide and seek/tag in dark
- limbo
- musical chairs (sounds gay, but actually is fun people end up falling, sittin on other ppls lap)
- prank call

and theres the typical halloween games like: bob for apples

Good luck!

Help? I don't know how to do this.?

Chapter Two

My shoes echoed throughout the deserted hallways and my head was spinning. Class had already started, and I was doomed to another lecture about tardiness from Mrs. Jackson. I winced with every step I took because my feet were numb, and the blood was flowing in my veins again.
I quietly walked past Mrs. Jacksonâs room, and saw my sister, Nikki Paige, looking at me. Nikki had brown hair that came up to her shoulders. She wore glasses, but not the nerdy type. She actually looked cute in them. People canât believe weâre sisters, or even related in that matter.
I walked to my locker, spun the combination, and it clicked open in success. I opened the metal door gently, and I appeared in my mini mirror. My cheeks were flushed because of the cold weather, and my makeup was smeared. Great.
I fixed my makeup, and brushed my blonde hair. I took once last glance at myself, my hazel eyes sparkled in the dim hallway lights. I got my notebooks, bag, and books for my next classes. Then shut my locker door, and locked it back up. I walked slowly to Mrs. Jacksonâs class, not eager to get there anytime soon.
Eventually, I got there and I dreaded it. I could already hear Mrs. Jacksonâs booming voice calling roll. I slid my fingers onto the cold silver handle, and slowly it clicked open. That click was like someone yelled âSheâs here!â because every single person in that classroom looked in my direction. I gulped.
âWell, well, well, Ms. Paige, so nice of you to be tardy for the third time in a row.â Mrs. Jackson bellowed. I felt my face get hot. I laughed nervously. âIs it Wednesday already?â I asked trying to change the subject. âStop stalling.â Mrs. Jackson demanded. âI am not stalling; I never stalled in my 13 years of living.â I lied. âWell, either way, youâre written up. Take your seat with your group.â I sighed in defeat.
She had the desks neatly grouped up. The groups were in groups of 6, of course an even number. I took my seat next to Nikki and Danny Youngblood. âDid you and Derik have yet another smooch fest?â Destinee Smith, my caramel colored friend, asked. Destinee has great features. She has puppy dog brown eyes, very smooth black hair, and her skin shinned in the classroom lights. She has slender, long fingers, and she was skinny.
âPfft, no.â I said. âOh shit, someoneâs pissed.â Danny said, putting his hand on my shoulder. âWhat did the ass do this time?â
I looked at him. Danny had the most beautiful pale blue eyes, and his hair was a dark brown. He needed a hair cut desperately, but it was cute how it hung in his face. His skin was the color of a marshmallow, and his lips were a pale pink. I giggled.
Danny gave me a look. âYou seem very happy for a pissed off person.â He commented. âAre you coming down with something?â I shook my head and my hair fell out of place. âYup, she is. Itâs the case of the love bug; very contagious around Valentineâs Day.â Destinee said. âItâs a good thing sheâs taken then.â Nikki chimed in. âNo Iâm not.â I said, looking away from Danny. They all gave me looks.
âThe reason I was late for class is Derik. I saw him and Danielle sucking face. I broke up with him.â I explained. âWhere am I when this drama happens?â Danny sulked. âI brought popcorn.â Nikki playfully pushed him. âWho cares about your corn.â She said, and looked back at me. âYou alright?â I shook my head. âI dunno. I had no idea Danielle was such aâ¦â I stopped, trying to think of the word.
âSlut?â Nikki asked
âHoe?â Destinee suggested.
âSperm dumpster?â Danny guessed.
Well all turned to look at him. âWhereâd that come from?â I asked. âMy mind.â Danny said, his voice filled with pride. âWell I donât wana be anywhere near your mind.â I mumbled. Danny smiled. âThatâs what they all say.â He said. âWho could blame them?â Antony Harold joked. Danny punched him playfully.
Antony has blonde skater-like hair. He has green eyes, and very attractive looking. He has tan skin, and a build body. He flirts with everybody. Including me.
âAntony, itâs about time you spoke up.â I said. âI thought you lost your voice.â Antony turned to me, and winked. âYou lost your voice last night, baby.â He joked. I faked a gag. âOnly because you drugged me.â I joked back. âYou guys are perverted.â Destinee said, laughing. âDamn right.â Antony said, smiling. I laughed to, almost forgetting about the scene that happened this morning.
I don't know about this chapter. It's way to short I know. Can you help me? I mean. Ugh I don't know. She just broke up with her boyfriend, and is she suposed to be happy or sad? I'm guessing happy because he cheated on her...but wouldnt she be pissed for being betrayed? I have no clue, because I'm clueless about relationships. D:

Answer
maybe you should explain like this:
"I felt a mix emotion. Of course I was pissed I was betrayed, but I couldn't feel a bit relieved that I was done with the cheater."

Where to get hair extensions in NYC?

Chelsea S

I live in NYC and I am looking for a salon or any place that sells hair extensions for a Caucasians hair. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars but I also don't want to look like I'm wearing fake hair.

Answer
Visit Patricia Hair Extensions salon. My personal experience, they have different varieties of extensions like Caucasians, fusion, Brazilian etc in different length and colors. Very affordable price too.

NYC salons?

Lindsay P

I've had the same haircut forever now. I'm always terrified to get it cut and colored for fear it will look horrendous. I've finally gathered the courage to blow my work bonus (small as it is) on a haircut in NYC. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a salon that could give me the best haircut of my life. I don't want to spend $500 for a haircut though. I also don't want some crappy place where I could get the same haircut at home without traveling 5 hours. I want to walk into work the next day and have everyone tell me I look amazing. Basically I want to walk into the salon and say "do whatever you want. Just make me beautiful."

Answer
If you have curly hair, devachan is the place to go!

asian hair color?

andthatshy

i'm korean so my hair is black. I wanted to dye myhair red but after realizing that not only will it be a hassle to keep it looking good, it might look kinda weird on my yellowish skintone. I notice alot of other asian girls have this mahogny hair color and i think it looks good but i want to be able to stand out. Any ideas? I say asian because sometimes mynatural hair color doesnt react to hair dye like white girl's do.. if anyone understands

Answer
Hmm. this is a tuffy and i work in the beauty industry! If i were you..i would see a professional. I recommend that you start off small and try some auburn/burgundy hi-lites in your hair. This will be less damaging and less of a hassle to keep up. Good Luck!

preps and those who know what a prep is, answear my question!?

...chia li

If you are a prep, please tell me the list of activities/ things you enjoy/ things you have to do?
Any jobs that you have/ enjoy would be helpful too.
and anything preppy that someone could be "made" into (like on mtv's made)
just fyi, i dont want to become a prep.
im trying to find a preppy activity that my EXTREAMLY UNPREPPY friend can say she wants to be "made" into.
made is comeing to her school and she is the most un preppy person on the earth.
if she says she wants to be made into something preppy, then she will for sure be on made.
dont call us a poser, we just want to be on tv.
wouldnt you want people to help you get on tv?

Answer
"A prep...someone who is classy and classic, not too showy or they would not be a prep, generally from the new england area, but can also be from the south, usually from a private "prep" school like Woodberry Forest or Baylor or Harpeth Hall, girls dress incudes polos, khakis, cardigans, floral dresses, cable knit sweaters, from places like polo, lilly, jcrew, and ck bradley, they carry tote bags with their monograms from llbean , wear pearls and silver monogram jewelry, wear ribbon belts from eliza b, and do not dress slutty in any way, boys wear polos, khakis, madras print shorts from banana, polo, jcrew, and nantucket reds, jackets from the north face, flip flops from rainbows, scruffed up baseball caps, the color code for both includes bright colors like pink, green, purple, and yellow, they are generally smart and nice and from a good, well-established family, they get into selective, private colleges, they sail, play tennis, golf, and swimming, as well as lacrosse and field hockey and sometimes soccer"

"preppy" is a lifestyle; that of many well-to-do and often "waspy" families of New England and New York; most preppy teenagers have been preppy since birth; have attended private/boarding schools in New England all of their lives; enjoy sophisticated, lifelong sports such as (but not restricted to)tennis, sailing, skiing, and golf. Many live in classically preppy areas such as New Canaan, CT; the North Shore, MA; Westchester County, NY; and Greenwich, CT. Many also have second or third homes in Vermont for skiing, or Nantucket/Block Island/Cape Cod for summers.
Many are legacies at boarding schools/colleges in the North East, many are talented but party as hard as they work; Most are old money (see wasp) but there are "nouveau riche" preps who may prefer more modern customs (ie. abercrombie etc) than the timeless classics of the "wasp" lifestyle.
Preppy clothing designers include (but are not limited to):
Lilly Pulitzer, Ralph Lauren, Petit Bateau, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Patagonia, Birkinstock, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, C.K. Bradley, L.L. Bean, the North Face, etc.
Preppy Designers do NOT include:
Abercrombie and Fitch, Express, American Eagle, The Limited, Guess, Aeropostale, etc.
HOWEVER: preppy items may be found at many of these locations (ex: nantucket red girls chinos at American Eagle)
Preppy (girls) essentials include:
ribbon belts, minimal makeup (or better, none), minimal hair styling, pearls, oxfords, polos, chinos, birkinstock clogs, sauconys, headbands, cableknit sweaters, brightly colored pants, cropped pants, jack rogers sandals, lilly pulitzer sundresses, longchamp/herve chapelier/vineyard vines/ll bean totes, patagonia fleeces, reef sandals, JCrew bathing suits, rainbow sandals,moccasins/topside rs, and many more.
preppy (boys) essentials include:
brightly colored baseball hats, rainbow sandals, Ralph Lauren polo shirts (in ALL colors- the brighter the better), nautical rope bracelets, nantucket red khakis, messy/unkempt hair (or minimal styling), other brightly colored khakis/shorts, crewneck sweaters, flannel/plaid oxfords, rope belts, striped ties, vineyard vines ties, LL bean boots, patagonia fleeces, navy blazers + khakis, topsiders, and much more."

Fashion: East Coast vs West Coast?

the who

To me I've only briefly sampled west coast/CA, but have enough experience from the suburbs and manhattan, and wanted to hear from you guys what the differences are culturally, fashion wise, lifestyles wise, education wise, expectation wise, pace wise between the places?

Personally from my experience, suburbia on the east coast is cookie-cutter, more reserved, education/work oriented for the most part, but surprisingly closed-minded, conformist, and not open to change. The whole abercrombie thing, hollister, etc. It's actually like a mini-wannabee LA.

Manhattan on the other hand, if you're an Abercrombie flake, or your aspiration in life is to look cool or what you did on your college spring break, you'll get eaten alive and won't make it. It's shark central, and busy, and it seems to be faced paced/business wise, but also alot more stuck up, fashion-forward, tolerant, accepting, "anything goes," and also values education, and constant bettering yourself, competition, opening your horizons, etc. It's like two different worlds.

In Manhattan people don't judge you, there are so many people, they're there to get what they wan't and have fun doing it, there are also dreams and even if people don't make it, you're right in the middle of one of the most happening spots ever.

Then as soon as you step into suburbia NJ and Long Island, etc, you get backwardness, the hick element arises, the homophobia, and the repression arises too,and it's unfortunate, but that's what I see. The intolerance, conservatives who desperately want to cling onto their old-school ways and small town judgemental ideals. It's just crazy and I personally hate it, but at least it's not as competitive and you can have some peace and be left alone from the "Big City."

NYC is all about being sophisticated, well-off, smart, but unfortunately, it's also a sociopath's dream because it seems to have a "Game" element to it. Everyone puts on a front and plays a game.

The suburbs at least offer something more real, and to raise families wtih kids.

Now, LA..west coast is a totally different ballpark.

Over there, the people really don't seem to give a sh9t about anyone or anything but themselves, and are alot more evil and use people and all about image, fashion, and phoneniness, and pretending like they're famous or being in the business. They're also alot more stupid over there and non-intelligent, ageist, and obsessed with themselves. People seem to have alot more issues, and go psycho over there, and god only knows what else. It has its positives, it also has its car culture, and people seem to obsess over everything from hair to makeup to god knows, and there's the whole sexual freedom aspect to it, but it seems like a very superficial and slutty place. Also a non-serious place. To a large degree.

In San Francisco they have a "national Margaret Cho day."

I mean..is that REALLY necessary? (as cool as that lady is?)

I mean we have starving people here.

To me, NYC is about being real and being fierce, where NJ and the rest of the suburbs have those elements but are more watered down and kind of pathetic really in their attempt to emulate the big city and their superiors, but always falling short,

whereas the west coast is faking it till you make it or don't, but faking it all the way, and being superficial/shallow/godless/lost and loving it.

But fashion wise, the west seems to be more about color/anything goes/

Answer
agree with the first poster, I'm from CT, we do have our reserved towns like Darien, but we have tons of liberal towns around here, Greenwich, Stamford, Yonker, New Rochelle, Norwalk, and Westport. As for LI, there are tons of crazy long islanders who are liberal minded hippies. As far as fashion goes, we actually have sense, most of my friends do not wear abercrombie and hollister after high school.

trust me the tristate area is far too sophisticated than you can comprehend during your short stay here Manhattan and Jersey Suburbia
