Thoughts on this haircut?

Krys

I'm want to get a new haircut in the distant future, and I'm contemplating this one:

http://www.besthairstyles2013.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/short-haircuts-11.jpg

I think it's cute and it would definitely work with my face shape (oval). I'm just a little nervous with cutting my relatively long hair, which I am very sick of. And well, to me it's cute but it's always nice to have a second opinion, right?

Also, I'm self-concise with hair color. My hair color is golden brown, do you think it'd look okay in that hairstyle?

So all you hair experts, what do you think?

Answer
It's very trendy, and very edgy. I like it. Any haircut looks fine with any color.

When you go to get it cut, ask your hairdresser what she thinks, too. Usually if she says 'are you sure?' She has doubts about it on you. So when she says that ask her if she has another suggestion.

By chance, whats your natural hair type? Curly, wavy, straight? If its straight, this would be a dream. If its wavy it could work with minimal styling.

But if your hair is curly, you would have to do a bit of damage for it to duplicate the girl in the picture. Just some food for thought.

New hairstyle, Bangs yes or no?

Sarah<3

I am dying my hair tomorrow from this colour blonde, to a brown red colour. It brown, but when the light hits it, it has a coppery colour to it. I am also getting my hair cut and my hair is about 19 inches long so I am cutting about an inch or two off, but I was wondering if I should get straight across bangs? or go back to my side bangs? (they have grown out a lot since that picture was taken. That picture is about 2 years old now. Any input? Oh and also don't try to convince me not to dye my hair. I already dye it so I know the hassle of dying it.

Answer
I think you will look kick*** with a burgundy brown color so you won't have to worry about me trying to talk you out of it! Any of the burgundy shades even with more purple tones will look great on you. I would suggest side bangs that hit the cheekbone. Here are some pics to show you what I mean, as well as some styles that would bring out your pretty eyes. That is if you haven't already decided on one yet.

Trendy hairstyle?

Freulein J

I'm going for a haircut soon. But i'm not sure what sort of hairstyle is nice and fashionable. I have long straight hair above my waist. And it's black.
Is there any nice hairstyle that's in trend around ur areas?
Like absolute layered or anything for fringe too? ^^ Thanks

Answer
I think the best answer for you is too...look at some books and go for a consultation, when looking in books try to find a style that has similar hair as yours this will ensure a good style for you...(if your hair is thin and no volume, a thick haired cut wont work as you don't have the volume),etc... as it appears that you have had long hair for awhile now...don't do anything too drastic...the holidays are coming up and you want to be comfortable...maybe something long about the middle of your bra length...with some long layers that start about the bottom of your ear...this way you can have some much needed volume...also I think that maybe you could have some golden brown highlights put in your hair, to give it some depth...don't try to go blonde this will turn your hair orange it takes a few times to bleach out your hair to get it blonde, and you will have lots of root touch ups, this can be costly...also if you keep it bra length, you can still pull it back in pony...on those bad hair days....shorter hair required products and alot of time to fix daily...

GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU FIND A HAIRSTYLE THAT WORKS....

Make sure you have a GOOD feeling in your GUT, about the person that cuts your hair...once it's cut you won't be able to go back....only time will fix it...

Dear Scott: I am thinking about coloring my hair and would like to know if you know anything about the all-natural hair color products. I have started getting a lot of gray hair. I saw Simply Organics and Organic Color Systems online and some others in the drugstore. I am afraid of having chemicals on my skin or hair, but I just can't stand this gray! Do you recommend these products as a natural way to color my hair? Do they work as well as the ones with chemicals in them? Why would anyone use hair color with chemicals in it when there is a natural way to do it?

ANSWER:
Their showy packages of information arrived in the mail within days of registering and plenty of phone calls came from sales people trying to sell me a special introductory package. But when I asked them how they can advertise "natural" hair color with peroxide as the activating ingredient, I couldn't get anyone to answer me. The phone calls stopped, too.
Peroxide is used to open the cuticle layer of the hair and is necessary for the deposit of pigment in permanent hair color. Many hair color companies advertise a product as "natural" but really have only removed some of the other scary sounding ingredients. When used properly, most of these ingredients are no more harmful than peroxide and help to produce longer lasting color with more accurate end results. Even semi-permanent color has some kind of activator although they claim to be peroxide free. Without the peroxide, they are terrible.
There really isn't any "natural" hair color other than henna that I know of. Henna plant was used by the ancient Egyptians. Crushing berries to produce the variations of color is simplified since then but the henna product is still a pain. It must be mixed up a day ahead and the processing time can be up to 4 hours. The results are iffy, too. I'm going to stick with modern technology and get it done right in 20 minutes.

http://www.aikenstandard.com/story/0930-beauty-corner

Henna, for example, is a natural hair color that is incredibly drying to the hair shaft, Begoun says. And cosmetics scientists at TheBeautyBrains.com say that henna will only temporarily tint your hair. Although most so-called natural hair-color products use fewer chemicals than most drugstore hair colors, experts say that any change to natural hair color causes hair damage. Experts suggest using the gentlest formula that will yield your desired color and using it as infrequently as possible.
Herbatint & Naturetint are two permanent hair colors that use a smaller amount of hair dye chemicals in conjunction with natural ingredients. Both have fairly decent ratings at MakeupAlley.com (though each gets only a handful of reviews).

Here's a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It's a good read!
Google: Henna for Hair Warnings.

If youâre using Henna which says itâs going to turn your hair from black to blonde, then it seems like your using compound Henna, which is not 100% natural. Without getting too scientific, compound henna is when you mix the Lawson in with a chemical like, metallic salts. The most commonly used ones are Copper, Lead acetate and Nickel. This can arguably damage your hair, leaving it dry, brittle and coarse.

Do you need a change in your life?ânothing too drastic. Perhaps you regularly read the major fashion magazines, stare intently at your favorite celebrities latest hair style and wonder whether now is the time to shear several inchesâor moreâfrom your current cut.
The truth is that many people do not know what else to do with their hair. The articles in Hair Cut Advice give you the inspiration and the latest advice you need to try a new hair style or hair cut.

Well, gone are the days of showing up at the beauty salon with only a vague notion of what you want. Itâs a lot safer than getting draped with a plastic sheet at your neighborhood salon and gnawing on your knuckles as the stylistâs scissors approach.

The great thing about a virtual hairstyle is that thereâs no risk whatsoeverâno panicking at the prospect of an unappealing cut, no regrets as hair is swept away from the floor of the salon, never to return. You can experiment with haircuts you never may have consideredâa retro shag, punky spikes, a trendy bob, a casual pageboy and an elegant chignon, among othersâand your styling journey may lead you to unexpected choices. Thatâs the beauty of the system: The only limits lie with your imagination.

Hair color?

zach_zebel

I'm guy wanted my hair blonde, so I bleached it with the herbal essences bleach thing, cause I didnt really want to spend 100 bucks for a hair color at a salon, so I picked up a hair color pack at Wal-Mart. My hair was brown. i wanted to be a guy with blode hair. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of hair color like in a box that works good for dying hair blonde, and so i wont have to spend 100 dollars on my hair at a salon.
Thanks :)

Answer
I've always coloured my own hair & you can get good results by following some basic rules I've figured out the hard way. Firstly, I know you want to go blonde, but consider going 4 shades lighter than your natural colour for a more natural look, then try a highlighting kit to lighten up some tips. Second, stick to ash tones so your hair won't turn too brassy. As for brands I like Nice N Easy & Miss Clairol. You might try Just For Men. I don't remember the highlighting kits I've bought , but I know they worked well-just FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Remember, less is more, you can always add more highlights later.

best hair coloring kit? HELP.?

ok

Okay, so about a year ago, i had blonde hair, and i wanted to go darker so i dyed it at homee ;
well, it looked good at first.. but it had a green tint.. and ever since then i go to the salon and get it done. welll, i wanna dye my hair tomorrow, and im going to do it at home. ( i went to the salon in august and got it dyed dark brown, but it faded to a light brown) so, i was wondering if the first time it had a green tint, did that have anything to do with being a blonde and going dark brown?
also, what hair coloing kit brand is the best to use? i DONT want that tint again. thanks.

Answer
Honestly, go to a hair dresser.
The color will last longer, and look better.
But if you don't want to go with loreal hair color

I hate my hair alot and I need help?

Q. I am black & armenian.I have thick curly black african american hair.I absolutly hate my hair.It is hard to mannage.I am 13 and I am not goin to relax it.I am thinking on buying a wig .I just wanna have straight hair thats all I ask nothing else.

Answer
Black hairstyles have come a long way since hot irons and jerry curls. Beautiful black men and women have plastered the covers of magazines with trendy, sleek and sophisticated natural black hairstyles. From kinky curls, locks and braids to relaxed sleek and straight styles, (only to mention a few) the looks are limitless. The versatility of black hair allows for a range of looks and styles to suit every one`s tastes. With celebrities like Beyonce, Halle Berry, and Gabrielle Union setting the stage for trendy looks, access to the right products and tools is crucial in attaining the up-to-date black hair styles that are making heads turn.
As we all know, black hair can be very, very dry. Having a great hydrating conditioner or lotion is key to giving your beautiful strands and that perfect black hairstyle, some tender loving care and shine. Finding the perfect style for your age, face and lifestyle can work wonders, not only for your looks, but your social life as well. Keep in mind your personal hair needs, your lifestyle demands and your expense account. With the wide range of great black hair products available, there is little need to spend exorbitant amounts of money on your hair. Although, there are ranges in product quality, choose what your hair needs, not what is the trend.
Needless to say, not all of us are blessed with natural black hair that makes us look like top models, but thanks to the popularity and affordability of wigs and weaves, we can adopt a fresh new look, keep up with the Jonesâ and feel great sporting either a short or long African American hairstyle. The sky is the limits when it comes to how good black men and women can look and feel about their gorgeous black hair.

Not so far behind us, African American women were best known for having the tightest braids, neatest dreads or nicest weaves, but thanks to amazing hair products, one no longer has to do a double take and wonder if âher hair is realâ. For many black women, the question of what to do with their hair is common but today, some of the hippest, trendiest and most beautiful hair styles belong to those of women of color. Black hair styles for women range from updos to letting the hair fall loosely in all its natural glory. If ones hair is an extremely curly type 4, a picked out mini afro is neat, classy and timeless. African American hairstyles such as buns, ponytails, updoâs or anything else that puts a strain on the front or nape of the hairline should not be kept in the same style for more than 7 days. Even a full head of thick hair can become thinned if pulled too tightly. The more weaves, braids and cornrows one puts in her hair, the more damage will be caused. A temporary style with a wig or weave is always a cute look but at the end of the day, one might want to sport natural black hairstyles instead and show they really love how they look.

What trendy hair style would be good for me?

luau

I hair fair skin w/freckles, blue eyes. Currently I have pretty long dark hair (i use natural instincts clove), which is the best I've ever had, I even look younger (35f). Before I had many variations, including reddish, blond, short, mid..
All my friend and I noticed as well, this is the best of all before..
So, I've been this way for about 6-7 years now, and getting bit bored..
I have diamond shaped face.
Do you suggest me any new styles that you think would also compliment my features? I do not want short, the shortest I'd go is shoulder length --I guess :) I also don't like when my hair is thinned out by some kind of scissor artist :) sorry :)

Thanks!
Scene hair: well, that hair is great. I'm a working professional, do you think I should still get it?
Oh, one more thing. Does this hair style requires a lot of time to fix it at home?

How do you use hair color developer?

Kimberly

I want to go to Sallys tomorrow and buy a hair color developer because I want my hair a lighter brown. I will probably get the 30. The thing is though, how do I use it? There is no tutorials on how to use it. I tried to dye my hair lighter brown yesterday but it didn't work because my hair is so dark. And it has been dyed black before. But do I buy hair dye and mix it with the developer? How much do I use? Help me please! I wanna do this right. Thanks! xx

Answer
OK the deal with developer is that you want to use equal parts. Most hair color tubes are 2 oz. so you would want to add 2 oz of developer to the color. If you use 2 tubes of hair color then you would add 4 oz of developer to the color. But ALWAYS read the instructions because there are some times when you may have to mix the developer a little differently but in general most of the time its equal parts.
Now when you go to Sally's tomorrow check out their L'Oreal Excellence collection - that is formaulated for people with darker hair. This is a safer way to lift your hair and get the color you desire. You can read about it on Sally's website I'll put the link for you in the source box.

What is the function of developer in hair color?

Jasper

My hairdresser told me to dilute the developer (pour out 1/2 and add 1/2 distilled water) for boxed hair color if I chose to use it. She said that it is less damaging this way. My question is what is the function of developer and if I dilute it more then that will it become a semipermanent?

Answer
Cutting down on the developer will not make it semi-permanent. In lay-mans terms I explain the developer as little ghosts running around a pac-man board....they eat up the natural pigment in the natural hair and allow the new color to adhere to the hair....no matter the quantities of dilution...it is still peroxide and chews the hair....it is used as a developer to 'develop' the hair color...Don't forget to condition your hair when you do a color........

What color should I dye my hair? [Photo included.]?

Taylor

I have pale skin and light hazel eyes and my natural color is....Auburn, i think? It's been so long since I last saw my natural hair.

My boyfriend wants me to go blonde again, but I'm trying to not ruin my hair even more. I want something unique, but I'm not sure what to do with my hair color. I know the cut kind of sucks... I had to have multiple inches cut off since it was so dry, and I'm trying to grow it out. The color is so dull though. I want something better than this, something much more... Flattering and unique. And if you say a dark brown, please be specific. There are soo many browns.

This is me:

Answer
Let me just start out saying, YOUR FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! I mean, you look WOW! So pretty! Your boyfriend is one lucky dude! Sorry, I had to get that out. Lol, well let's begin shall we? Your boyfriend wants blonde, so let's give him blonde! BUT not the WHOLE HAIR. Maybe just blonde highlights, I personally think black and blonde is a classic twist on modern looks, but you may be a bit different in this case, I actually think you should try three different colors. But BEFORE you say this chick is a lunatic! Read this:
I think you should first turn her hair to a nice reddish brown to kind of mix up your natural hair color with your current hair. Put A BIT of black in your hair, then add the strips of blonde. I know it sounds weird, but for some reason, I have a feeling this will work for you! If you don't like this idea here are some pictures that you may like!

i have medium-dark brown hair, light brown eyes, and fair skin (which gets a golden glow in the summer). i want to either get highlights or dye my hair a completely different color and i can't decide what to do so please tell me which you think would look better:
1) caramel blonde highlights
2) red highlights
3) dye hair auburn
4) dye hair light brown and highlight
5) dye hair blonde completely
oh yea, and i recently cut my hair into a bob (but i plan on growing it out again), so idk if that makes any difference or not.

Answer
It depends on what color brown your eyes are. Do they have golden flecks in them, or are they a more neutral brown? With your golden skin tone in the summer, I don't like the idea of red or auburn in your hair. As a stylist we usually do more neutral colors in the spring and summer and more golden or red colors in the fall and winter to complement the lighter skin tones you get then. I would leave your natural color alone and just put some caramel highlights throughought with a neutral tint. Some people consider caramel to have a reddish tint. I don't. It will be cheaper and there will be less maintenance to just put highlights in your hair instead of changing the entire color. Hope this helps!

suggest me a new hairstyle for men?

wokatekyon

Im tired of my long hair, so im gonna cut it down short. so need some new ideas for my new short hair style.
I have a thick wavy black hair
I want to have it short as possible without making me look bad due to my flat back head

thanks

Answer
There are lots of new 2007 hair style trends for men and women to take into consideration for a new look! People make all kinds of New Yearâs resolutions and for lots of people improving their appearance is one of them. The best place to start with a new look is with a new hairstyle. The 2007 hair style trends will guide you in the right direction for your new look in the New Year.

2007 Hair Style Trends for Men

A short and shaggy look that looks as if youâve just taken a roll in the hay is ultra cool for men in 2007. Women can also pull off a longer version of this look. The easiest way to maintain this cut is to wash and style the hair at night, sleep on it, and then wake ready to go. It will look perfectly messy and in style. Washing this style on a daily basis is not recommended because it takes all the natural shape out of the hair and is not the best way to keep this style looking hip.

Shorter and textured hair that is cleaner cut than messy is making a comeback for 2007. This is great news for men who like the more controlled style that doesnât require too much effort. Texture will be cut into the short style to make it stylish and trendy. Also, warmer hair tones are in style for men looking to really create a trendy look in 2007.

The styles mentioned here are just some of the cool hair trends for men and women in 2007. Many variations of all of these styles will also be cool for the upcoming year and may change slightly depending on the season. The best thing to do if you are looking for a new 2007 trendy hair style is to talk with your stylist and consider the styles you like best. Then, you can figure out which style complements you the best and go from there. Because ultimately you want a cool and trendy style but one that makes you look cool and trendy rather than one that makes you look like you are trying too hard. Your stylist is the best one to help you make the right decision!

LADIES: Will you help me choose a trendy hairstyle ?

Handsome_L

http://www.flickr.com/photos/39665826@N07/7054322739/in/photostream

I am getting bored with my face, and wonder if a change will do good. To start with I plan to have a new hairstyle- something more modern and trendy. Perhaps a bit short with layers. Can you suggest some smart and trendy hairstyles ?

Then a big step - getting my moush off. Do you think it would be a good thing to try a clean shaven look ?

Answer
Clean and shaven will make you much more put together and handsome! You look alot like my uncle did:)
A nice, short hairstyle Id say would look great is something you could run your hands through. Try to cut it as short as you can without a buzz or shaven. Dont be aftraid of having a bit of a short shag, just dont let anything fall past your face, and have a closer cut to your neck.
Should look very nice
Good luck!

What are non-trendy hairstyles for teen girls?

Q. i don't like today's hairstyles :p.

Answer
I agree :D

*Wavy/curly long natural hair
*super-short crops
*weird messy bobs and asymmetrical cuts
*brightly colored hair! no black or blonde, try banana yellow, turquoise, etc.
*hugely back combed/hawked hair.
*dreads!
*1930's-50's inspired haircuts. Soft curls, pinned up hair, Marilyn Monroe-style bobs.
*Pin-up girl haircuts as well. Soft, soft, natural blacks or blondes with super-short fringes, flipped out at the end.
*Hippy-chic cuts. These are my favorite! Weird braids in your hair, random dreads in odd places, natural brown colors, shiny, soft, wavy and touchable.

Basically go for anything that's not scene, black, bleach-blonde, obviously dyed, sleekly bobbed or straightened, obviously highlighted, etc. It's easy to take inspiration from old hairstyles, such as a HUGE mound of creamy pink Marie Antoinette hair piled on top of your head. Maybe stick a butterfly or fake bird in there as well. Did you know the french used tinted powders to color their hair? Blue was a favorite as was pink. Candy hair! Today, though, brands like Manic Panic and Special Effects make semi-permanent vegetable dyes in crazy colors like Purple Haze, Candy Apple Red, and Atomic Turquoise. My personal favorite is a very light baby-blue, which would look insanely awesome if you had long, gently curling hair! awesome :O

Of course, you might not be as mad as I am. You can always just let it grow long and natural and put it up in a topknot or ballerina-style messy bun. Sticking some weird ornaments, extensions, flowers or headbands in there couldn't hurt, either.

Anyhow good luck! I wish I had any hair to play with :( in the good nature of charity I shaved my head a few months ago, and it's just reached crop-stage now. Boring. Glittery faux-hawks are my only option.

Cute odd hair colors?

Constipate

I wanted light green, ash green ish, but my mom wouldn't allow me. I could go by myself to the hairdresser, but then the color has to be amazing.

Anyone got pictures of hair colors that are 'wow!' ?
NOT PINK, I hate the color pink. Other than that, any color is welcome. Please pictures.
My hair is middle length, untill my bra opening, and it's quite curly. Big curls, not small an many, naturally.

It's brown/red now, with a bit black. But I'm tired of this color, and when I go back to school, I want people's head turning to me (: I don't care if it's weird and odd, I love standing out. I hate mainstream people, who want to adjust to the trend.

Mindless zombies following "fashion models". :l ew.

Answer
Too bad you don't like pink, I think that is the hottest coplor out. Well here are some non pink ideas. I reall like the 3rd and 4th ones.

what kind of hairstyles are popular in japan, I really like this japanese guy's hairstyle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobuo_Uematsu

do you know some of the popular hairstyles in japan, and is the hairstyle of the guy in the link popular or is it unique to the guy

Answer
hairstyles vary around the country. You would find more lively hairstyle in Tokyo and more traditional anywhere else. There are lots of different styles. Many Japanese die their hair or use many accesories. I have seen lots of hairstyles that are layered (guuys and girls) and also many using buns (mostly girls ^^)
My current hairstyle I got from a japanese pop artist Kumi Koda.
This site has a bunch of cool ones!

I dont know if this has guy hairstyles too but it shows a lot of girls ones.

What was the popular fashion and the popular hairstlyes?

Answer
The late sixties were all about freedom of expression, which meant that both men and women tried to out-do themselves and out-grow their hair. It was all about shaking yourself out of the image society pinned you up against. Again, long hair was in. Baggy clothes (especially for women) were in. Flowers were worn and skin art was hip and cool.

Hair poll. What color???

CatielynnM

Okay I'm dying my hair and I would love some non-biased input. Okay so out of these what color should I get.

Strawberry Blonde

Blonde Blonde
http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj65/gymnaSTAR/?action=view&current=taaz_makeover2.jpg

Warm Chocolate Brown
http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj65/gymnaSTAR/?action=view&current=taaz_makeover3.jpg

or red:
(this isn't me, but it's my favorite color and no free virtual makeover site has this color.

http://proudtointroduce.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/milwaukee-childrens-photographer-red-hair.jpg

Answer
The strawberry blonde was awful. I think I liked the brown the best but maybe because it's the closest to your eyebrow color. If you lighten those you'd look ok with the blonde. I guess that would be true for the strawberry blonde too, but to me that color just didn't look right.

The red wouldn't work for me either.

what is a good hairstyle that will let me keep my LONG hair but give it style? ( young teen) something trendy.

analyzer4d

My hair is thick, long, and pretty frizzy. I need a transformation...

Answer
if your hair is frizzy, straighten it.
you can get a straightener from walmart, target, online, and any beauty suppy shop. (sally's beauty supply is my favorite.)

if your parents will allow you, DYE YOUR HAIR. make it look natural! nothings better than a whole new color to go with your new straightened hair! if not, look into streaks, highlights, and maybe just a little color. (as in blue, green, ect.)

if your hair is thick, and your not happy with it, go to the salon, ask for just a quick thinning. they'll know what to do, and to make it 'edgy' but 'trendy' get a razor cut. it always looks great, maybe even get some layers? <3

do you have bangs? you can get long bangs, grow them out. you can get side-bangs, (which always look great!) just part it with a come to the side you prefer.

look online for cool pictures of styles you admire, show your parents, you dont wanna come home with something they dont like, they'll just keep bugging you until you fix/change it.

bring preference pictures with you to salons, they'll get a better view of what you want, remember, if they're doing something you dont like to your hair. immediatly say something! dont hold back and wait until the damage is done, i know from experience you'll just be sorry in the end.

stay away from any shampoo's that are greasy and not made for your type of hair. it will result in dandruff, greasy hair, and it will sometimes have a weird smell.

i hope this helped :)

best hair extensions?

Jaimee

I want to get hair extensions but dont know where to buy them from. I'm looking for a good price too

Answer
There's Remy & Lux, Remy is the one most stolen by thieves from salons to resell online.

Getting extensions are not that easy, like buying shoes. AND if you have problem styling your own hair, add hair extensions to the formula, it will be even harder to style when you have them.

People waste tons of money on extensions because it's the new trend. Without doing much research. Then, they come to YA HAIR and ask us questions on how to clip it on their hair, if they can go swimming, play sports, if they can dye or perm, etc. Do you think you'll have time for school, trying to put on hair extensions over 1 hour every morning? Then, they ruin it by dyeing to match their hair.
If you live in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Texas or San Diego and you wear hair extensions made by Remy, it COULD have been from a stolen beauty store and are sold for much more! It's also possible they're being sold ONLINE.
It's really not that simple! Then again, it will not work out if you have thin hair, the clip will be showing through! How embarrassing will that be, if it keeps falling out from your head, if it's not on right!?!
May 22, 2011: Model and businesswoman Katie Price, who was formerly topless model Jordan, is demanding compensation from a top Los Angeles hair salon after she spent $17,000 on hair colourings and extensions that she claims were botched, leaving her hair so damaged it began falling out.

Kate Gosselin got hers from a salon, and she was on the front cover of People magazine, but she HATED her hair!!!! Access Hollywood. She paid $7,000 for hers. Took 7 hours.

At the salon: 25-50 ($50-$100) extensions, they also have hidden costs, like monthly maintenance fees, one girl charge YA poster $248 more saying the salon put 120 extensions on her head, but she only counted 60. They are very charming!
Google Britney Spear's hair extensions. July 21, 2010.
Jessica Simpson & Paris Hilton don't even use their own hair extensions, plus they have stylists to do them in photo shoots or travel with them. Jessica was photographed, showing her clip-ons during a windy day.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT their HAIR EXTENSIONS
well on friday i got synthetic extensions, and they dont curl very well, so i was wondering if i plaited them and left them over night would they go crinkly and mix in with my real hair
because theyre fake i dont know if i can actually style them very well, which is annoying!
+they are starting too get ratty, any tips on how to take care of them ?
thanks!

And another ex:
I have sewn in hair extensions. My natural hair is neck-length, and these extensions are down to my chest. They're sewn in (if you didn't already know) with black tracks, while the hair is my natural hair colour: brown. But I want to have it up in a high-ish ponytail. But, obviously, the tracks are really obvious. How can I make them less obvious?
I hate having to have my hair down all the time. I've always wanted it, but now I'm getting bored. :/

One more ex:
I removed my hair extensions yesterday after 4 months. My hair is really thin does any1 no any good products to thicken it?

And another ex:
i bought 100 dollars clip in 100% human hair extensions and it hurts and pulls my hair. u shud just wait til it grows out. my hair was real short and i wanted extensions real bad and now i feel bad wasting 100 bucks on that where i cud of spent it on clothes or sumother beauty thing. ur not going to wear them after a while cuz u get annoyed having to keep clipping them in and all or whateever kind of extensions ur getting.

This one says it all:
i have had hair extensions done in a hairdressers in melton mowbray 3weeks ago. i have been told they are 100% real hair but they look terrible,it looks like i have been back-combing it. if i curl them it just goes frizzy and if i straighten them it also goes very frizzy with the back-coming look. i have bought all the products that was advised and i have looked after them the way i was told to. i have had hair extensions before and they were lovely, i had no problems. i have been back 2 times to the hairdressers for help and advise and i was told that the hair is rubbing on my shoulders which is giving the back-combing look (my shoulders are not that big). i am now asking for my money back and the hair taken out but they are refusing. i have spoke to the hairdressing federation and they told me to call trading standards, they said to get them tested but i do not know where to send them. thanks for any help.

Sources:
I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.

How can I get this hair color? (pictures included)?

bec

I have medium brown hair (picture: http://tinypic.com/r/2hnt9hl/7 ) and I want my hair this color: http://www.salonapprentice.com/chicago/chicago_log_in/user_images/ashlee-simpson-red-hair-color-1.jpg

I'm assuming I have to go to a salon so I'm wondering if they'd have to bleach it first (which is a deal breaker for me) and what service/process they would use (foil?) because I want some sort of price estimate before I go. Thanks!

Answer
Welllllllll if you have no hair dye in your right now like it's all natural, the bleach they would have to use would be a 20 or even a 10. The least hard one.. I guess? because it would pick up to your hair amazingly because it's new hair basically. It doesn't burn your scalp like the rest. This coming from experience. And it would only need to be on your hair for probably not longer than 20 minutes. They would then apply the red base, along with the toner. Then trim maybe like an inch or two off so there's no dead ends. You'd have to wash it with cold water and color treated shampoo if you want it to last.

Red hair is A LOT of work. Lol. I was blonde and that was hard.

Answer
Sry, no pics! Haha, but I just want to say that in that pic of you, you look like you are my age [8th grade]! Are you seriously in 10th?
Wow, anyways here are things you can do for color...
1] Get either honey, chestnut, light brown, or if you are daring, blonde highlights for your hair.
2] Or, dye it a little darker, but with a reddish tint [soooo pretty, that's what my friend did] or dye it a little blonder.

For your hair style...
1] Make your bangs swoop bangs. That's what I had a year ago, it's totally cuter then just hollywood bangs.
2] Get layers. I don't know if your hair is thick enough, but give it a try.
3] OR turn your bangs and hair into a BOB cut, I had that 2 years ago haha. Basically that means cutting you bangs across your forehead, and cutting the rest of it to a shoulder length. Very trendy.

So ya, good luck with everything, your hair right now is nice with good shine. Also, try using more mascara and eyeliner.

OK nvm I found pics...here they are...

how do i stop my hair from falling out (female)?

Lilly

i've got very thin hair as it is, but recently more and more has been coming out, especially when washing (i wash every 3rd day). huge clumps of hair come out during and after the wash (ie when i comb it).
i use organic shampoo and conditioner (so it doesn't have lots of chemicals in), and rarely blow dry. i never brush my hair when it's wet, i always comb, and i don't ever straighten/curl my hair.
what might i be doing wrong? might it be dietry? also what can i do to promote hair growth to make my hair thicker?
thanks

Answer
"i use organic shampoo and conditioner (so it doesn't have lots of chemicals in),"

In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.

Don't believe the hype: "For skin care products, 'organic is not enough,. Some organic products are fabulous, and some are not." ~ Dr. Lisa Chipps , M.D. specializes in removing skin cancer & repairing the resultant wound (laser therapy whiz) in Rodeo Drive.
"Organic skin care products are trendy, but that does not mean nonorganic ones are dangerous," Wendy E. Roberts, M.D. past president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.

Dove hairfall facts:
1. Humidity makes hair dry and brittle, leading to hairfall
2. Colouring the hair damages the hair strands leading to breakage
3. Pollution is also an unseen killer of healthy hair
4. Tangled hair is the most common reason for hair fall
5. While shampooing cleanses your hair, regular conditioning is required for adequate moisturization. Regular use of conditioner post shampoo also solves the problem of entangling which is the major cause of hairfall.

HEAT & CHEMICALS are hair's worst enemies. You've got any of those on your hair?
Supplements, medications, anti-acne products, hair oil, birth control pills, pollution in the water, to name just a few . . . ALL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS. Watch the movie called SIDE EFFECTS. Any reactions to a drug - like Vitamin B complex which is a supplement - 'side effect' is a negative reaction to a drug - this is your body telling you that what you just gave it is toxic to it, and instead of helping you, it is actually hurting you.  It is your body's way of telling you to stop.  All drugs have side effects, and are toxic...even lethal...to some people at some dosage.  Another term for toxic is poisonous.  We owe it to ourselves to try less toxic treatments first.  Especially since too many drugs merely cover up symptoms rather than treat the underlying cause of the symptom in the first place. Another example: Green Tea supplement: Green tea extract supplements have been linked to several cases of liver damage. Green tea extracts might make liver disease worse.

NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. .

What color should I dye my hair?

Q. I have a pale skin tone and I want a grunge look. Ok so think Frances Bean. Same skin tone. Love her hair! When it's blonde. But the thing is, I don't want it blonde. I tried doing the ombre thing at home but I ruined it x(
I don't want to go to a salon. I cut my own hair as well as dye it. I'm thinking about dying it red. But it's hard to manage. I'm just stuck! Any ideas?

Answer
Pale skin often looks good with Dark browns or blacks, Rangas/oranges and bright reds.

Red hair is VERY hard to maintain, i warn you, but it looks AMAZING! If you go for a red, i suggest you touch it up about every 4 weeks. Or just whenever it starts to fade. Also, red is a bugger to get out, and will take a long time to get rid of when you want to change again. :)
Good luck.

Color Oops Extra Strength Hair Color Remover .?

William H

My current hair color is orange!!=[
but i want natural hair color back which is light brown.
do you think Color Oops Extra Strength Hair Color Remover will fix it and make it back to normal.?

Answer
I used Color Oops MANY times, even though I lightened my hair! It works great, I dont know what I would do without it.

Since you have orange hair, you probably lightened your hair color, so it will be hard to go back to your natural color.

It says to leave it on for 20 minutes. What I did was I did many strand tests and left the color oops on different amounts of time. I tried 5,10, and 15 minutes; and each turned out to be a different color. So I chose the one I liked better and did that on my whole head.

Trust me it works SO WELL ! (=
good luck and I hoped I helped <3

Hair color remover question?

gweneveres

I've dyed my hair from medium to dark brown a lot inthe past two years (I'm naturally dark blonde/light brown) and I really want my hair back to its natural hair color, or close to it. I really don't want to bleach it, but I've heard of color removers, such as Vanish, and I was wondering if anyone has ever used it, and how good it is, and if there are any disadvantages (hair loss, orange hair, etc) to it. Or if there are better hair color removers out there.

Thank you!
Also, is L'Oreal Colorist Secrets Haircolor Remover any good?

Answer
Hair color removers are generally used to remove color that was done very recently. It is probably not the best option in your case. Also, they tend to be much harsher than bleach anyway. Your best bet really is to do a heavy highlight and have the highlights toned with a color close to what you are going for. If you have a picture of you with your natural hair color, I would bring that in to a stylist to discuss your options. I don't mean a picture of when you were a little kid, because your hair changes a lot through the years. Get a picture that is as recent as possible before you went darker. Going back to your natural when your natural is lighter than the color you currently have is a tricky process and I would recommend seeing a professional to do so. if you are short on cash, you can try going to a beauty school and it will be cheaper. The work is supervised by classroom instructors, just be aware that there may be more of a risk seeing students vs. professionals. That being said, you never know if you are going to get a good professional either and at least with beauty school students they are trying hard because they want to learn and get a good grade. There is a good chance with a color remover your hair will turn orange. They are not really meant to use alone. A bleach bath, as someone mentioned could work, but I wouldn't recommend it without the help of someone who knows how to do it.

URGENT: Ideas for a short trendy haircut?

Vicky

I've been thinking about cutting my long brunette hair (medium to thick texture) for quite a time. I urgently need pics I can take to a salon tomorrow, as I've just got my sister to cut my ponytail off (and my boyfriend is laughing at me)!

Hair is now like a bob but shorter in the nape than front which is about chin length so styles need to be pretty short!
The Frankie cut - do you mean her new ultra short pixie or Asymmetric Bob?
