Hairstyles for blunt bangs?

Pixi

I have naturally curly hair that is straightened right now, I have blunt bangs that fo straight across and layers. What are some good hairstyle ideas i could use?

Answer
I personally love blunt bangs, and with really curly hair (myself) iI could never have em :P

Since you have a natural curl, try letting your hair air dry, but straightening your bangs http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dominosguide.com/uploads/dominosguide/images/200831823282120977801.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dominosguide.com/page/35%3Fs%3Dhair&usg=__K1fXN1sO0xDmclb8p5JdsmxxefE=&h=350&w=446&sz=58&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=N_jNVxEaO6fREM:&tbnh=159&tbnw=213&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dblunt%2Bbangs%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1053%26bih%3D642%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=350&vpy=95&dur=180&hovh=199&hovw=253&tx=106&ty=127&ei=ftR6TJmPCYO88gaxr-SDBg&oei=ftR6TJmPCYO88gaxr-SDBg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0

Or Pull a Kim Kardashian and curl them http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://stylebell.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/kim-kardashian1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://mystylebell.com/2009/01/26/blunt-bangs-are-all-the-rage/&usg=__bDIXwOFwJ0teyT3E421bUM43WuM=&h=294&w=220&sz=15&hl=en&start=17&zoom=1&tbnid=ZfGJEk3TiCEoEM:&tbnh=161&tbnw=118&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dblunt%2Bbangs%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1053%26bih%3D642%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=257&vpy=241&dur=535&hovh=235&hovw=176&tx=88&ty=128&ei=hNR6TJzdLsKblgfTt7zrCw&oei=ftR6TJmPCYO88gaxr-SDBg&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:17

One of the best things about this style, is you can make a bun or a pony tail look really edgy! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://0.tqn.com/d/beauty/1/0/H/k/tyrabanks.JPG&imgrefurl=http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/ponytailphotos_8.htm&usg=__r78QYLRQ4-GhSzNDsJ0QSrZ2Otw=&h=400&w=326&sz=18&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=vcScMXYZRJgSdM:&tbnh=165&tbnw=134&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dblunt%2Bbangs%2Bponytail%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1053%26bih%3D642%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=256&vpy=65&dur=3122&hovh=249&hovw=203&tx=110&ty=145&ei=ftV6TKyhF8P68AaXgIHtBQ&oei=ftV6TKyhF8P68AaXgIHtBQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0

Or part them like side bangs http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://thegloss.com/files/684/2009/01/bluntbangs3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://thegloss.com/beauty/trend-forecast-blunt-bangs-684/&usg=__fJNLrX8-6Q0HueWG1Wb-JckN-nA=&h=201&w=280&sz=11&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=XUrTOCd60iV6LM:&tbnh=160&tbnw=219&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dblunt%2Bbangs%2Bponytail%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26biw%3D1053%26bih%3D642%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=399&ei=ftV6TKyhF8P68AaXgIHtBQ&oei=ftV6TKyhF8P68AaXgIHtBQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0&tx=61&ty=52

New hair style after hair donation?

Aphrodite

Tomorrow morning I am going to donate my hair, going to the Hair Massacre (those that live in/around Edmonton should know what this is).
After a year getting my hair healthy again and then another year and a half growing it out it is at 10 inches long,
I'm just not sure what to do with what's left, there won't be a lot left, and currently my bangs are blunt just over my eyebrows. Like I will look like a boy I'm sure
I'm happy to be doing this, June of 2009 my mom's best friend passed from breast cancer, and as soon as I found out I dyed my hair back to my natural color to start growing it out and getting healthy again

BQ: have you ever had phantom hair after getting rid of a lot all at once?

I know I have, but this is the first time my hair will be this short

Answer
God I remember having short hair.. actually people can look pretty cute with short hair.

asian hairstyle ideas fassttt!!?

Mikio A

im a 14 year old male. i want a asian hairstyle. my hair is stick straight nd black.im looking at anime? but i dont want something tht is outrageous or needs like 98473 minutes to prepare in the morning. can someone give me a few pictures?

Answer
OK number 1, IF YOU WANT AN ASIAN HAIRSTYLE, NEVER USE GEL.
number 2, get your hair layered, or thinned(only do this wens ur hair get long, dont bother getting it layered wen its short because it would just grow back to its old self again and this HAS to be done by an asian because white people dont know how to), fringe should be up to ur eyes, sideburns should be down to middle of cheek, and the back should be as long as ur side burns.
number 3, wash hair, blow dry, straighten it. etc. (watever u want to do with it)
number 4, MOST IMPORTANT HAIR PRODUCT: GATSBY MOVING RUBBER!!(ALL ASIAN HAIRSTYLES NEED GATSBY) preferably pink, for the manga/anime spikey hairstyle.
number 5. I dont know what hairstyle you want, type 'asian hairstyle' in youtube and you will find lots of hairstyle toturials or you can go on the gatsby website www.gatsby.com.my/movingrubber it has vidoes and pictures

A good website with asian hairstyles?

Answer
Hair is composed of 50.65% carbon, 20.85% oxygen, 17.14% nitrogen, 6.36% hydrogen, and 5.0% sulfur. Hair also contains trace amounts of magnesium, arsenic, iron, chromium and other metals and minerals.

Darker hair contains higher levels of carbon than blonde hair.

The fine, downy hair that covers the cheeks and other parts of the face is called lanugo hair.

Hair grows approximately one-half inch per month. Hair growth occurs fastest between the ages of 15 and 30, and grows faster on women than men.

The average life span of a strand of hair is between 4 and 7 years.

Hair's natural part is caused by the condition known as a hairstream. Hairstream refers to the effect that is created when the hair follicles slope in the same direction, thereby determining the directional flow of the hair. When two hairstreams slope in opposite directions, a natural part occurs. In other words, hair follicles on one side of the part slope differently than the follicles on the other side of the part.

Hair is shed on a daily basis. It is normal to shed between 75-150 hairs per day.

The numbers of hairs on the head vary with the hair's natural color. Redheads have about 90,000. Black, 108,000. Brown, 140,000. And blondes not only have more fun, they have more hair too. They have about 140,000.

There is an average of 1,000 hairs per square inch. I guess that means the bigger your head is, the more hair you have.

Normally, dry hair can be stretched one-fifth of it's length before breaking. Wet hair can stretch between 40-50% of it's length.

Canities is the technical term for gray hair. Trichoptilosis is the technical term for split ends. So next time you go to the salon, ask your stylist to color your canities and trim off your trichoptilosis.

The finger rest on a pair of scissors is called a tang. Tang is also a tasty orange-flavored drink mix. One of my favorite things is to mix Tang with milk instead of water. Try it, you'll love it.

The curling iron was developed in 1875 by a Frenchman, Marcel Grateau. Not to be confused with Marcel Marceau, the famous mime.

Many store-bought haircolors contain metallic salts. These salts accumulate on the hairshaft and can cause breakage or severe discoloration if colored or permed by a hairstylist. To determine if hair has been colored by a metallic dye, mix 1 oz. of 20-volume peroxide with 20 drops of 28% ammonia. Submerge 20 strands of hair in the solution and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. If hair lightens rapidly, the hair contains lead. If there is no reaction after 30 minutes, the hair contains silver or bismuth. If the solution starts to boil and emits a foul odor, the hair contains copper. Hair that has no metallic salt buildup should lighten very slightly.

The level system of haircolor, which is a 1-10 scale used to measure darkness (level 1 is black, level 10 is light blonde), was originally developed by law enforcement officials as a means to identify suspected criminals.

The removal of unwanted body hair can be dated back to the time of the ancient Egyptians, who used abrasion as a way to remove hair. Ancient Romans and Greeks used pumice stones and other abrasives to remove hair. Native Americans and Pacific Islanders removed hair by scraping with seashells. In ancient Mayan and Aztec cultures, the volcanic glass obsidian was used to shave hair. Obsidian can be honed many times sharper than most razor blades.

The earliest means of chemical hair removal dates back to the ancient Turks, who used a concoction known as "rusma". Rusma is a combination of yellow sulfide of arsenic, quicklime, and rose water.

Electrolysis was invented by Charles E. Michel, a St. Louis opthalmologist in 1875. Dr. Michel used galvanic current and a surgical needle in his device, which was developed to treat ingrown eyelashes.

Pretty fascinating stuff, huh? I thought so. These facts were accumulated from a variety of sources, including various cosmetology textbooks and general knowledge.

What colour eyes/hair do most Germans have??

Oh my.

Im half German and I have Blue/Brown.
âThe Twin duo {Kesha & Karry}â
I said Germans not irish.

Clyde
I dont care about Hiltler he wasnt even German. He was Austrian!

Answer
Austrians and Germans are 50% Blond/50% other hair colors.Of the Blonds, only 35% have blue eyes.Few people know that Hitler had planned on eliminating those(65% of his own people) or driving them out to create his perfect Aryan race.He and/or his cohorts had actually set up breeding camps for Blond-haired, blue-eyed men and women, ordering pairings/marriages.Those that produced other than Blond,blue-eyed children were to be eliminated along with their children.Ironically Hitler, himself, had brown hair and blue eyes.

I Need A New Hairstyle For 2013.!?

Lindsey

I'm gonna be a senior in August and I'm tired of the same hair style. Right now it's past my shoulder blades and its blonde. I have side bangs and I really liked the bob I had in 9th grade. Any help.?

Answer
I do not suggest you mess with heat & chemicals (hair's worst enemies), it sounds like you have BEAUTIFUL blonde hair!
Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

HOW TO STYLE MEDIUM HAIR:
Do a classic side part and keep hair down all day.
Pull back big curls to show off your pretty face, by using headbands.
Pony up. Can't go wrong with this simple style.
Give ruby red hair a sophisticated twist front, make a bun on the back.
Tuck two cornrows into a neat little bun.
Tie on a ribbon. Blair Waldorf would approve!
Creat a cutesy side-swept fishtail braid.
Bring on the Technicolor to update a retro look.
Try DIY hair accessories - no rules apply!
Weave ribbon into a braided headband.
Wear a chill beanie and let your hair be.
Mix leave-in conditioner and alcohol-free gel to style springy, crunch-free curls. Wear a fedora hat.
Do you like the movie the Hunger Games? I haven't seen it, but I saw it briefly during their trailer. My hairstyle (for weeks) came from the movie, and have seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Magazines called that the Goddess look or the Halo crown. I've seen it in The Savages. Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12.
I'm sure NO ONE in you school have done that!

Google: Peopleâs Choice Awards Hair: Helmet Braids Dominate 1-10-13

THINK BIG: The new blowout is all about big, bouncy volume. Start blow-drying hair with a large barrel brush, set in loose pin curls for 10 minutes, then shake out until ends are wavy.
Grunge rock and roll meets retro punk - example Kristen Stewart @ the MTV Award. Sexy, textured and undone hair.
Soft updos and silk scarves at Dolce & Gabbana. The summery hair at Dolce was anchored by beautiful printed scarves that hairstylist Guido Paulo wrapped around textured, pulled-apart updos. He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. To keep the headband from looking severe, Paulo left a few centimeters of the hairline exposed, covered the very tops of the ears with the scarf, and tied it on the side.
Messy knots at Marni. The inspiration for this look was Saturday-morning errands. In other words, "a bad ponytail," said hairstylist Paul Hanlon. "Itâs very organic, very realâalmost like a [model] coming in for a fitting." Before blow-drying, he applied Tigi Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day Thickening Spray to add grip and volume. He created a side part, then swept hair across the forehead and gathered it into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. He split the tail in two, teased both sides, and secured a loop using U-shaped pins. He smoothed down the sides with Elnett to refine it a bit.

HOW I STYLED MY HAIR IN HS with past the shoulder length to long hair?
My hair cut was below my boobs, until I grad. from HS it went down to my waist. I have various styles for my hair, didn't have bangs then.

1. I parted them in the middle, had two baby pony tails right where the top of my ears, and they fall to the front, while the rest of my hair hang loose on the back. I also curled the ends under, using plastic curlers (when I go to sleep).

2. Other times, I braided my hair after they're washed, so they're curly for days! I have about 6 sections that was braided so the curls are tighter. In the morning, when I take the braids out, finger comb so they don't get frizzy.

3. Do the Pocahantas bun. Divide your hair vertically in 2. Coil the top section, using bobby pins. Let the other bottom half loose.

4. Add hairsticks to your bun, instead.

5. Coil the top, coil the bottom section.

6. Braid the top coil, bun it. Let the rest fall out.

7. Add hair sticks to the braided bun.

I can do 7 different styles per week (even now). The idea is to experiment, practice the night before, so you can easily do them by morning. Takes me 2-10 mins. to style my knee length hair. I've posted 98 on Facebook.

Suitable DS games?

Q. My sister is young and into Fashion/Hair styling games that you play online etc.
Was just wondering if anyone knew of any on DS, I have found a few but there not worth looking into! Ty! =]

Answer
There is a game called Imagine: Fashion Designer. If she likes fashion and hair this might be a good choice. I haven't played it at all, though, so I'm not sure if it's worth buying or not. But it's $29.99 new. My advice is to maybe rent it, or go to a used game store and buy it. Some stores have money-back guarantees. Look into it...that way if she doesn't like the game she or you could always bring it back to the store for your money back.
Hope this helps!

What hair colours are coming in style?

Cat

I like to keep up with the fashion world. I want to change my hair colour soon. And I want to be ahead of the game with the new popular colours. For example, brown was a very trendy colour a few seasons ago.
Can you tell me what the rage will be for the upcoming seasons?

*Please don't answer if you're going to lecture me on why fashion is not important.
Please backup your answer
Thanks for all the good feed back. :)
Except for the first answer, did I not JUST write in there that I didn't want to be lectured.? That's so annoying. If you can't answer the question, don't write anuthing...
But other wise, thank you for the answers. They'll help lots.:)

I really want trendy n cool haircut. My hair is long and brown. I have layered haircut. It really looks good. This is the one hairstyle that suits me a lot. But I want something new and different as I've been having this hairstyle from past 2 years.
I am just tired of checking out those same boring haircuts on internet.

I recommend this hair cut but instead of having the top colored blonde maybe go for a brownish color depending on what goes best with you. It all depends on your skin tone and eye color hope this helped!

Thoughts on this haircut?

Krys

I'm want to get a new haircut in the distant future, and I'm contemplating this one:

http://www.besthairstyles2013.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/short-haircuts-11.jpg

I think it's cute and it would definitely work with my face shape (oval). I'm just a little nervous with cutting my relatively long hair, which I am very sick of. And well, to me it's cute but it's always nice to have a second opinion, right?

Also, I'm self-concise with hair color. My hair color is golden brown, do you think it'd look okay in that hairstyle?

So all you hair experts, what do you think?

Answer
It's very trendy, and very edgy. I like it. Any haircut looks fine with any color.

When you go to get it cut, ask your hairdresser what she thinks, too. Usually if she says 'are you sure?' She has doubts about it on you. So when she says that ask her if she has another suggestion.

By chance, whats your natural hair type? Curly, wavy, straight? If its straight, this would be a dream. If its wavy it could work with minimal styling.

But if your hair is curly, you would have to do a bit of damage for it to duplicate the girl in the picture. Just some food for thought.

Trendy Hairstyles?

Are there any trendy hairstyles that you can recommend along with a pic ??
Im kinda sick of my hair!!!
Thanks a billion!
Hey 1st poster! I heard bangs were in too but i dnt think they r 4 me
-Are you ready-

You are so funny! Where did u come up with that comeback? HAHAHAHA what are u like 10?

Have fun at ur concert! Not!

Answer
So many people are doing side bangs and/or layers they would be perfect for you but first go on google and find a pic show it to your stylist and say that's kinda how you want your hair
these ones aren't the best but...

http://prom.hairresources.net/PromPonyTail210.jpg

http://www.hyfntrak.com/thecheetahgirls/downloads/cheetah_01_800x600.jpg

the third one I choose because of the middle girl with blonde hair her hair is really cute I'm not the biggest fan of the Cheetah Girls but I love her hair I think her name is Sabrina Bryans or something like that!

I got your details another great hairstyle is the messy bun

Short or Long? Hairstyles for Teenage Girls 2013?

Kimberly

I have medium brown hair and it's naturally wavy and I'm fourteen. For 2013 should I grow it out or cut it short? I've always had my hair about shoulder length and I'm getting tired of it. What's some ways I can style it for 2013? Thanks so much! God Bless!

The Pompadour Hairstyle?

DeathKid

What is the name of this hairstyle?
I'm not if it's the pompadour?
But this hairstyle has the sides and back shaved, long on top.
I would like to have this hairstyle. Although, my hair is thick and wavy/curly.
Please and Thank you!

It's the first picture on the site.

Answer
It's a fad hairstyle that does not have a commonly recognized name like an ivy league or crew cut and like most fad styles will fully suit relatively few guys. It is sort of like a style that was popular in WWII Germany. A long pompadour does not have the sides and back that short. A short pompadour does. Pompadour is the prior name in the English language for a crew cut and flat top crew cut. Pompadour later became short pompadour when referring to the styles now referred to as a crew cut and a flat top crew cut. If you want that style, don't be concerned with the name; print the photo to describe the style to a hairdresser.

i have black hair currently and brown eyes help me out please!!

Answer
You should always color your hair the color it was when you were a child. So look at pictures when you were 4 or so and color it that color. As for the cut....you have the face shape that can do any hairstyle and look great...however....The writer, Linda Wells, stated that almost everyone at Allure Magazine where she works has shoulder-length hair. Turns out shoulder-length is universally the most flattering length. Think about it: No matter how tall or short you are, no matter how fat or narrow your face is, no matter how frizzy or curly your locks, you will look good in shoulder-length hair. So go with a shoulder length hair with fun layers!!

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

I've responded to many girls (guys now too) under 15 experiencing in hair loss since 2009, due to hair straightening, relaxers and hair dyes. Women 60-90 have those same symptoms but it took them years to get there. But for 15 & under, giving advice here? They can't predict the future of their hairs, until they're in their 30's, but 15 & under with hair loss? C'mon! I've responded 7 in 2 hours 9-3-10, (before school started) 4 in 1hour 3-5-11 alone.

One example of hair loss on a 16 years old.
I'm 16 years old, i don't really die my hair that much i probably died it like twice this whole year. well i lose soooo much hair EVEY SINGLE DAY, i lose soo much, that I'm literally almost bald :,( my doctor said she thinks its some kind of hormone change, then my hairstylist says its because its waaay to dry, but idk what it is because it wont stop falling out!!! It might be because i use to straighten it when i had mouse in it, but that was like 2 years ago.. helpp!!!

Another example: Before i dye my hair, my hair is so healthy and thick, but now after i dye my hair , my hair becoming disaster... my hair doesn't health like before! my hair loss LOT! i tried to try all kind of shampoo!

Another example, ? about her age:
"I recently decided to dye my hair. I didn't like the first color so I dyed it again a week later. Then I permed it 4 weeks later, now its really dry and brittle and falls out everywhere, it comes out in chucks when I comb it or even wash."

When it does that, it is too late to do anything about it. That's another reason why the hair industry is a billion dollar business, their main job is to make tons of money and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss, due to 'abuse'.

Google hair dyes & cancer spec. black hair dyes which is made from tar. Some people smoke & tan all their lives and do not get cancer. But there are 2nd hand & 3rd hand smoke who are now carrying their oxygen tank so they can breath or have cancer. Same with hair dyes. If you're not affected today, or next month, you may never be affected and you're one of the lucky ones. It doesn't take overnight, it takes years of hair experimentation with hair dyes.

Here's a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It's a good read!

One example on someone who had re-bleached her hair now they're falling out.

I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.

people with gray hair and people with thinning hair?

JB

how come if a persons hair turns white or starts to bald its almost always one or the other?
you see a person with a full head of white hair, or a person with a receding hairline or is balding and has their natural color.

its nearly never a combination of the two, why is this?

Answer
genes. some men get completely bald at the age of 19
some guys have a full thick head of hair at 90 and still have there natural color.
some woman start balding even at young ages.
some woman never get white or gray hair even when there in there senior years.
it all goes back to a persons genetic traits.
and yes there are ppl who are balding and have gray or white hair.

Hairstyle for square/oval face?

Dew

Hi, I'm 19 years old, but I look 16-17ish. I'm asian (Indian-subcontinental) so I have a tanned complexion. My face is fairly square, slightly oval-ish. I have natural black hair but currently dyed very dark purple, and spiky towards the front. I'm getting tired of it. My hair is pretty thick and it's hard to maintain a clean spiky look because it get muddled easily. If I cut it any shorter it doesn't stand out much. I use L'oreal texturising fibre glue gel. However I don't use a hair straightener or blow dryer. Frankly I'm lacking ideas and the know-how.

So I need advice for suitable hairstyles, if possible with pictures. Please give me tips how I can maintain the hairstyle on my own, what products I should use, should I dye it a different colour, etc. I'm from London, UK, so if you can please recommend a good salon.

Thanks.

SQUARE FACE
(straight hairline; angular jaw; wide face)
Your hairstyle should work to soften the sharp angle of your jawline and minimize a squared-off brow look. Hairstyles that emphasize the cheekbones mid-line of the face are most flattering, so short layers (cut into longer hair) that swing foreward onto cheekbones will look great. Bangs and waves at the temple also soften the square of your face. Hair length is best about one inch below the chin, or extending to shoulder length, to reduce and soften the squareness of your jaw. Hair worn on the forehead is always perfect for you, as long as it is wispy or fringed. Never wear straight bangs. Hair turned under at the bottom also will narrow the width of the jaw. Styles in loose curls and waves add extra dimension to the square face in a good way. Styles that round out your hair can decrease the appearance of a square face shape, so adding curl, angled or wispy bangs, and a few wisps on the cheek area will all help. A cut that allows for some height is also a good idea. Wear a side part as opposed to a center part.
