What brand of hair dye will work on black hair and not make it orange?

I recently dyed my hair "golden brown". It turned out very nice but over time it has faded into an ugly shade of orange.

I don't want to spend another 70 dollars on getting my hair dyed again so I was considering buying a box of hair dye from a store.

What brands would you consider for a brass-free hair dye that works on black hair?

Answer
so im guessing your natural haircolor is black so ur roots are growing out black?
if thats the case u might have to bleach just your roots and then when ur done dye it the color you want all over. bleaching just your roots really isnt that bad since its the healthiest hair on your head since its new hair growth

Good haircolor brand to lighten with besides clairol?

OhSoJazzy

I want to dye my hair from black to a strawberry blonde. I have used clairol and ion before, but two years ago my hair fell out after using it. I want to use a different haircolor brand that's just as effective. What should I use?

Answer
Maybe consider bleaching, although if your hair has already fallen out before this may not be the best option. I've tried the L'oreal Excellence Cremes, which are pretty good. Always check on the side of the box to see the darkest hair colour it lightens.

Since your hair is black, I'm not sure how it would turn out seeing as anyone with black hair or dark brown hair trying to go blonde have only one option which, like I said firstly, is bleaching. It is very damaging but that also depends on the developer you use. The higher the developer the quicker, but more damaging, it is to your hair.

For starters, you can lighten your hair to a light brown with, as I recommended, 'L'oreal Excellence Creme' dyes. It is easier to go blonde from light brown hair than straight from black.

Also just an extra note, if you ever get yellow or orange hair, yes, toners are an option but not everyone can go buy a toner on short notice. I recommend using ash blonde hair dyes because they can get rid of the yellow brassy tones, and I know this from experience.

Hope this helped (:

I recently stopped using chemical straighteners in my hair and decided to cut off my hair so it can grow back thick and strong, the moisturizers is use keep my hair moist for a couple about an hour, so if i leave the house my hair is dry until i return home. Is there long lasting moisturizes and and you tell me which?

Answer
Hair products are NOT made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged, or hair loss, or make them grow . . . . they are a trillion dollar business. They also do NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals - hair's worst enemies.

Look @ videos or hairstyles of women in the late 40's or 50's, and see how healthy & silky their curly hair was. Have you seen Miracle on 34th Street or Downton Abbey? Their hair wasn't styled by professional hairstylists. They were styled by maids. No hair oil, no serum, no hair sprays, and no gels with just the use of shampoo & conditioner. Many countries didn't even have bottled shampoo & conditioner, example in my country, all we've ever used was a bar of soap for our bodies, hair & laundry. I did that for 13 years, even though my hair was permed, but there was no frizzy, no blowdrying and my hair was the same as today: silky, shiny, soft, smooth it IS HOW they are styled when they're wet, and no hair dryer (for 13 years I lived in Asia). Many women then had long hair, curly hair and they wore hats, and pin-curled or plastic curlers curled HAIRSTYLES. The men too, have very shiny hair like the women, although the men used pomade . . .that was before Bumble & Bumble's production 70's, John Frieda's production 1988 or the invention of heating tools, and WEN in 1996. Another way to find the secret to beautiful hair? Find someone with beautiful healthy curls or silky, shiny (not greasy) straight hair and ask him or her to share secrets, preferably someone who is 40-60 years older than YOU. I have 5 decades, so you're getting the answers you need, right here! I won't charge you a penny!

CARE: 1. Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they're dry, like a sponge. Shampoo & condition is all you need.

DIET: If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .
RE: HAIR OIL: "You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesnât get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,â Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

Best answer comes from people with Avatars, showing their healthy, shiny, silky, soft, smooth hair.

What is the best curling iron for long hair?

Wednesday

My hair is waist length and when I try to curl it, it just curls the bottom part because as I wrap it so many times, the heat doesn't reach the top part. I need a a very good curler because my hair doesn't hold curls for too long, it straightens out within the hour.

Answer
I recommend you don't do this . .
Here's a good one. Google: Tori Locklear Burns Own Hair Off In YouTube Beauty Tutorial (VIDEO)

You've got waist length hair, you NEED large plastic curlers. What I do when I want long curly hair, like my knee-length hair? After I've washed it, I braid my hair in several sections, about 7-9 sections, then in the morning take the braids out, FINGER COMB. They will be curly for days!

Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. If you want curly hair, (or straight hair to tame your curly hair) look @ videos or hairstyles of women in the late 40's or 50's, and see how healthy & silky their curly hair was. Have you seen Miracle on 34th Street or Downton Abbey? Their hair wasn't styled by professional hairstylists. They were styled by maids. People slept with their curlers on, or sit in the beauty salon for 20 mins. under a helmet of hair dryer.

Curlers comes in small, medium, large curlers.
Small if you want tighter curls, shorter hair.
Medium: medium curls, medium length hair.
Large: longer hair, larger curls.

"smaller section of hair you use the tighter/bouncier the curl, and the longer bigger section you use the bigger the wave or loose the curl. "

Start your curlers, where you want the curls to begin.

You can also pin curls your hair, if they're short to medium. You can also braid your hair the night before, several sections of braid . . . .after they've been wash, all night and sleep with them, and take the braids out in the morning. Finger comb to style. Use scarf to keep them from the wind.

HEAT PROTECTION, does not protect hair 100%. Like using sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Same with hair. Hair products are not made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged or hair loss, they ARE A TRILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS, and the hair industry also do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals.

I'm a female, with pretty short hair, shoulder length to be exact. Well, I can't put it up in a bun, but if I let it hang loose, it would probably touch the collar of the uniform. Would the barber at basic trim it, or should I just might as well get it shorter? Can you go to basic with super boy hair cut, or not? THank you.

Answer
I guess you "could" go to basic with super short hair, there's nothing in the Reg about having it too short. However, this is a look that I don't think every woman can pull off.

If it can touch the collar it is probably long enough to be put up, even if not in a bun.

I have seen women in the Army with both the really short hair and the hair put up, but not long enough for a bun.

(3) Female haircuts will conform to the following standards.
(a) Females will ensure their hair is neatly groomed, that the length and bulk of the hair are not excessive, and that the hair does not present a ragged, unkempt, or extreme appearance. Likewise, trendy styles that result in shaved portions of the scalp (other than the neckline) or designs cut into the hair are prohibited. Females may wear braids and cornrows as long as the braided style is conservative, the braids and cornrows lie snugly on the head, and any hairholding devices comply with the standards in 1â8a(3) (d) below. Dreadlocks (unkempt, twisted, matted individual parts
of hair) are prohibited in uniform or in civilian clothes on duty. Hair will not fall over the eyebrows or extend below the bottom edge of the collar at any time during normal activity or when standing in formation. Long hair that falls naturally below the bottom edge of the collar, to include braids, will be neatly and inconspicuously fastened or pinned,so no free-hanging hair is visible. This includes styles worn with the physical fitness uniform/improved physical fitness uniform (PFU/IPFU).
(b) Styles that are lopsided or distinctly unbalanced are prohibited. Ponytails, pigtails, or braids that are not secured to the head (allowing hair to hang freely), widely spaced individual hanging locks, and other extreme styles that protrude from the head are prohibited. Extensions, weaves, wigs, and hairpieces are authorized; however, these additions must have the same general appearance as the individualâs natural hair. Additionally, any wigs, extensions, hairpieces, or weaves must comply with the grooming policies set forth in this paragraph.
(c) Females will ensure that hairstyles do not interfere with proper wear of military headgear and protective masks or equipment at any time (see 1â8a(1)(a), above). When headgear is worn, the hair will not extend below the bottom edge of the front of the headgear, nor will it extend below the bottom edge of the collar.
(d) Hair-holding devices are authorized only for the purpose of securing the hair. Soldiers will not place hairholding devices in the hair for decorative purposes. All hair-holding devices must be plain and of a color as close to the soldierâs hair as is possible or clear. Authorized devices include, but are not limited to, small, plain scrunchies (elastic hair bands covered with material), barrettes, combs, pins, clips, rubber bands, and hair bands. Devices that are conspicuous, excessive, or decorative are prohibited. Some examples of prohibited devices include, but are not limited to, large, lacy scrunchies; beads, bows, or claw clips; clips, pins, or barrettes with butterflies, flowers, sparkles, gems, or scalloped edges; and bows made from hairpieces.
(e) Soldiers may not wear hairnets unless they are required for health or safety reasons, or in the performance of duties (such as those of a cook). No other type of hair covering is authorized in lieu of the hairnet. The commander will provide the hairnet to the soldier at no cost.

What are some timeless clothing staples that every woman should have in her closet?

In the Lan

I just turned 30 (I'm not a teenager) and don't want my wardrobe full of clothes that will be out of style by the time 2008 rolls around. I would like to have as many "must haves" as possible, but I can't think of any besides the crisp white blouse and a great pair of jeans. I am planning to spend some nice dough to make sure these clothes last a while so please feel free to point me in the right direction. Thanks for your time.

If you're looking for a more mature and classic look, you could try this mixed in with your trendier stuff.

Anyway, some things you could look for would be....

Button-down shirts/blouses, jeans that aren't too trendy (by that, I mean classic cuts and styles), trousers that are straight leg in neutral colors (black, gray, tan, brown, even some pinstriped), fitted blazers and other structured jackets, pencil skirts, a-line skirts, 3/4 length sleeved tops (can be v-necked, wrap tops, etc), wrap dresses, pea coats or trenches.
Accessories are where you can have inexpensive fun with chunky, long, beaded necklaces, dangley earrings, scarves, belts, etc.

Also, be aware when choosing color. Bright colors are great, but sometimes jewel-toned shades are more sophisticated. Having said that, color can be great to add some flair to an otherwise neutral and drab wardrobe.

Fit is important. In a classic look, it seems that nothing is ever too tight or baggy.

Also, although some may see this as copying, you can look at other people's styles to see what you like. You'd be simply drawing inspiration. Make note of what you like on other people and consider if it would work on you. Look through magazines. Look at street fashion sites. You can either find what you like, or you can at least see what you DON'T like.

I'm planning to re-dye my hair soon, and I want my hair to turn out really good. Right now, my hair is light blonde. I'm planning on either doing light auburn with blonde highlights, light brown hair with blonde highlights, or an even lighter shade of blonde. What is your favorite drugstore brand for hair color? Which one gives the best color, and leaves your hair looking the shiniest and healthiest after dying? I would also like one that is fairly easy to apply. The only ones I've used this far are Preference and Garnier Nutrisse. Thanks!

I color my hair. It is all gray. I am afraid to shampoo often because I fear that the color will come out. Does anyone know of a gentle drugstore brand that is affordable and good and won't strip my hair color? Any advice is greatly appreciated xox.

There's Herbal Essences "color me happy" which is a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. You can find out more about it and other Herbal Essences shampoos at http://herbalessences.com/en-US/hair-care .

There's also Aussie "Color Mate" which is a bit hard for find but you may be able to find it.

There's Garnier Fruitcus and Pantene too!

I dyed my hair a lighter blonde using an Herbal Essence hair color. Now they have changed their blonde products. My roots have grown out a great deal but I am afraid to color them with another product. Any suggestions?

Answer
I think that they improved it. They changed mine, too and I use the closest color match. It works all the same. Just the marketing package is different and the names of the colors are different. HOWEVER, it is the same.
Ebay sometimes sells the original Herbal Essence is you are set on that color. ebay.com

Q. somebody has told me that hair color from walmart or other stores have mettalic dye in it, or something like that. I dont see what the difference is between store bought and salon color, does anybody know? I just ordered three bottles of loreal excellence blonde hair color.

Answer
Over the counter hair color usually contains amonia and very low levels of developer. When you go to a professional salon, we use non-amonia hair color, and we can chose what level developer is necessary for the process. With over the counter color, you dont have a choice. That is why most hair colors dont turn out the way you expect them to.

Is 9 years old to young to use flattening iron to straightening a girl hair?

Cindy

My daughter 9 year old and she inherited my very thick curly hair, and like me she hates it. She always comes home crying or asking why her hair can't be strait like her friends and what she can do about it. She hates brushing her hair too because how thick it is and how long it takes, and hurts to get the knots.

Its Deva for me because I remember feeling this way when I was her age and going through same stuff. I didn't start to relax my hair and using flattening irons until I was in my 20's

She wants to use my flattening iron but I'm not sure this is good idea, I'm worried she too young to feel this way and she should be happy how she looks because she already Beautiful and she not happy about her appearance breaks my heart. I'm just worried set her thinking in wrong direction...

Maybe I'm over thinking it? Because I flat iron my hair to get rid of curls frizzes....What do you think I should do?
I'm sorry, I forgot to mention we do use detangled spray, only comb her hair when its wet and we tried different hair cuts, layers, shorter in past to help tame it.

Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. Heat tampers the hair! Your hair has static electricity so when you're hair TOUCHES heat, it tampers the growth, making the hair grow ABNORMAL or none. Also if you know how to do it directions would be nice! Thanks i'll pick a best answer!

Answer
This popular yahoo group has tons of pictures for the latest 2010/2011 hairstyles without adds or pop ups. There are also illustrations and how toâs with some links. It can take some patience, because there are so many different styles to view. The link is below.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/feelgoodlookgoodhairstyles/

Get yourself some rollers to get yourself started . The length is great. You can do pageboys, flips, updo's, scene styles, straight hair using jumbo rollers, ect. You will probably want to do an updo.
Heat tools are terrible for hair and not only cause damage that looks horrible, and with continued use will cause permanent hair damage and or hair loss- Great for wig shops! Rollers produce longer lasting curl, gorgeous hair, donât damage your hair, and are actually faster to use!
Take a look at my profile picture. It only took me 15 minutes to set my hair in rollers at night, then 20 minutes in the morning to remove the rollers and style it out. So what is faster, better for your hair and looks better? You can do the same thing for any hairstyle you would like. For an updo, Roll your hair with plastic rollers when it is wet with hair gel. After it is dry, take the rollers out and run your fingers through the curls. DONT BRUSH OR COMB THE CURLS. Then tease all of your hair. After your hair is teased and in a big mess, spray it with hairspray. After the hairspray it dry, gently brush your hair back into the desired up do and pin in up in the back. You can see some styles and roller diagrams from the link provided.
You can also use sponge or other types of softer rollers for sleeping. It takes some patience when first getting started, so don't get discourage. It takes practice for awhile to get them in nicely and to get fast at it. And have some fun trying different styles !! -Your options are endless!!
You can get rollers at stores like Walmart, drug stores and grocery stores, but they sell out quickly because they are so popular now. You can also buy them online

I am going to get a haircut soon, and I am looking for the right hairstyle. For many years I have stayed with the same style and I want to change that. I am looking for a style that makes my round face look less wide, and something to draw attention away from my large nose, can someone please help me?? I really need this, all my friends have their right hairstyles and I just have a plain look. It takes me a long time to make my hair because I can't do anything with it. HELP Please!

How to get an English Rose style?

How do I get an old fashioned English Rose appearance? In terms of hair, makeup, clothing?
Any advice would be so grately appreciated! Thank you!

Answer
An English Rose look is characterised by a soft colour palette (in terms of makeup), a simple, natural looking hair style and a pretty spring wardrobe.
This is just my interpretation so please don't take my word for it :]
makeup is usually based on a paler complexion, usually rosy cheeks created by a pink blusher (usually applied to the apples of the cheeks). The lips again would be a neutral shade, maybe a light gloss, lip tint or even just some vaseline to show off your natural lip colour, any lipsticks or anything as heavy is a no no, as the whole point to the english rose style is natural beauty. There may be a light brush of mascara and again a thin line of eye liner to bring out your eyes. Any complementary shade of eye shadow is appropriate (depending on your eye colour) however again part of a neutral palette (no electric blue!) things like pale greens, pinks, browns etc. As for the eyebrows, keep them natural, not overly plucked.

Kate Winslet and Keira Knightley are great examples of this, they both have the 'pale and flushed' look down.

Oh sorry I'm rambling! I'll try to be more brief.
As for hair, keep it simple and natural with either flowing, wavy locks, not overly procesessed curls or straightended hair again think natural. Or, a casual updo (not messy by a refined 'just got out of bed look - i'll link some pictures so you know what i mean). Either of these can be done using curling irons or leaving hair to naturally dry and then pinning hair.
Similarily, you can use accessories like flower clips or floral hairbands.
e.g. http://www.trendy-hairstyles.com/wp-content/themes/digg-3-col/images/keira-knightley-hairstyles.jpg
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Akhrz6b1MY4/TaZWQx1i78I/AAAAAAAABFo/lFXmgSILIOc/s1600/keira+knightley+11.png
you can look up tutorials for similar hairstyles on youtube, just type something like 'english rose hair' or 'keira knightley hair tutorial' you get the idea :]

In terms of clothing, flowy tea dresses are best, think alice in wonderland goes to topshop. The best examples I have found at the moment are on Urban Outfitters where I've actually ordered the white lace thistlepearl dress :] http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/category.jsp?navAction=jump&isSortBy=true&pushId=WOMENS&id=W_APP_DRESSES
but you can find many cheaper alternatives all over the web (i live in the UK so i'd suggest topshop, new look, asos) A good rule of thumb is florals, they are everywhere at the moment (atleast here in England) so anything flowery is good. baggy cardigans can also be paired with the dresses to keep you tostie :]

I hope this helps and isn't too rambly, if you have any other questions just ask!

I have a small round face, caramel complexion, with almond shaped eyes.I need some hairstyle tips and colors that will emphasis my almond shaped eyes but at the same time is trendy and youthful.

Answer
Front bangs or a longish sideswept fringe would look great. if you get an eyebrow sweeping fringe it draws attention to your eyes and make them stand out. for colours, i guess it would depend on your eye colour. if your eyes are dark brown, for instance, then dye your hair jet black, it'll make them "pop". with the bangs and your eyecolour, it would look absolutely amazing and trendy! :)

What are cute hairstyles for an 8th grade graduation?

Q. I told my little sister i would help her with her hair for her graduation, but I'm not sure what to do. She has long, straight brown hair. She has a round face and she looks pretty good with her hair back up off her face. She wants it curled but she doesn't want it just down or just up. She wants something cute and trendy. Any suggestions?

Answer
Well first things first, make her hair curly and a little bit wet. Then after, put it up in a bun and to me i think it would look cute.

What the best treatment for african american hair (to restore it and keep the hair strong)?

My hair is very weak and i need something to make it stronger. Whats the best shampoo and conditioner? I used to use Paul Mitchell. Is that fine? I would also like a moisturize that will help my hair to grow longer and faster... any recommendations?

Answer
Paul Mitchell is actually a good choice; however, it is not all natural and as a stylist, I have found that natural products work better on african american hair. Why? Because black hair needs a lot of moisture to stay strong and grow, it does not produce natural oils like many other hair types. Any hair care products packed with natural oils will make your hair thrive. The best all natural products, that also make African American hair grow fast are Beauty 4 Ashes A Double Portion hair growth products. They have great oils like shea, jojoba, sunflower, avocado, and emu. I would also recommend Carol's daughter's hair milk.

Also, do the following things:
1) Limit heat styling to once a week
2) Limit hair coloring
3) Try to relax no more than every 6-8 weeks
4) Do not trim your hair unless it is ravaged...get rid of your cut happy stylist. Dominican stylists are supportive of growing african american hair
5)Eat lean protein, such as soy, fish, turkey, egg whites, and chicken
6) Take a B Complex Vitamin

What is a really good hair care product for African American, color treated hair?

Ivonna T

I am in the market for a new hair care product. I stopped using Pantene Pro V and Olive Oil Root Stimulator because I started color treating my hair and didn't feel they were the best products to use with my hair type. I recently starting using Motions Marula Formula and am not impressed. I just want something to promote hair growth, shine, and health.

Answer
Well, you could try using natural based products and see how they perform on your hair. Mineral Indulgence has natural products for relaxed hair and they helped with my daughter's relaxed hair. I purchase the Relaxed Hair Regimen as it's cheaper than buying the products individually. Plus you get a free scalp butter for hair growth if you get the regimen.

How do I go from dark dyed hair to gray without looking like a mangy animal in between?

best hair color for 50 women
on ... and smart, fierce and fabulous, these 10 women over 50 got it going on
best hair color for 50 women image

My nautral color is dark brown but I have dyed it for years because I suspect I am now nearly gray. I just would like to know if I ever want to stop dyeing it, do I have to look like a mangy animal in between or is there a way to go to all gray 'gracefully' ..

Answer
My mother just went through this same thing (she's about 75% - 80% grey). She wanted to go grey for years so she could stop dying her hair dark brown.

What you'll need to do it go to a salon that does highlights/foils. Tell them you want white ash colored highlights so you can start to grow your grey hair out (the lighest color blond with an ash tone to it takes away any yellow color and makes it almost seem silver/grey). Also let them know you want the highlights small and lots of them, not just a few large thick ones. Emphasize that you want the highlights very white, not yellow blond, that this is to help you go grey, not to go blond.

The first time my mother went in to get this done, the woman didn't listen to her at all and dyed her hair a reddish brown and gave her yellow/blond highlights. Sure, she looked great, but she was trying to go grey and look in her 50's, not look 30.

The second time she went in, I sent her to the girl who does my hair and explained to the stylist that we needed white ash highlights to go grey. She did it and it worked. She went in 1 more time about 2 months later and had some more white ash highlights put in (to help blend in the new growth). And now she has all her natural color (salt and pepper brown/grey, mostly grey).

The white ash highlights basically look like grey hair and will make the new growth you will have of you own grey hair blend better. Be sure to make it clear to whom ever is doing you hair what you want. If they have that look about them like they are thinking "yeah yeah I know what you want", then they aren't listening. Get someone who actually is listening to what your goal is, and isn't just thinking you one of the hundreds of people coming in who want regular blond highlights.

I know pale was in style, but it seemed everyone had pale gray hair and rather plump features.
Make that Renaissance.

Answer
Plump people were considered attractive because during that era, being plump signified you were healthy and wealthy enough to afford to eat on a regular basis. Also, pale skin meant you spent most of your time indoors, out of the sun and not performing manual labour all day in the fields. People considered attractive today (hard bodied, model physique) would have been thought peasants, poor, and unattractive.

You're wrong about the era on the pale gray hair though. Powdered wigs didn't come into style until the 18th century. People in the Renaissance wore their hair in natural colours.

Hope this helped you,
Peace.

Do you agree that women are like picked fruit and mine like wine, when aging?

Damnable

Women look the best around 15, that's why you married them at that age back in the day, and why models need to be skinny etc. And after that age they become less, and less attractive.

Men on the other hand age with style. A little gray hair is a sign of wisdom. He matures mentally, becoming a superior man that has learned fromhis misstakes.

What do you think?

Answer
nonsence. at 15 i looked dreadful (not that im full of myself now but then i was stick thin with really bad hair-not good) and models should not be skinny-very unhealthy.
i think some men age well, some dont. some women age well, some dont. and we all mature over time-women quicker then men regarding that.

What kind of hair color can I use at home to beautifully cover grays and last?

Bottlecrac

All right ladies, I need your help. I love going to my local Aveda salon and having my hair done to the tune of $150. But going through a divorce, going to school full-time and only being able to work part-time now, I just can't afford it. Can anyone please recommend a brand of hair color I can do at home that covers grays effectively, stays beautiful and true for more than two to three weeks and will shine? Thank you!

Answer
I've always used Excellence Creme by Loreal. I only color the roots and have to do it about every 4 to 5 weeks.

My hair is a very light blonde. I want to go to a darker color such as caramel or honey. I don't have the money to go to a salon. So just wondering if anyone knew of some good hair coloring products to use to do so?

Answer
I have always used Revlon Hair Coloring boxes. Youd have to go to your local CVS or walgreens or even Walkmart, and look and see what colors they have go with a color that youd want to have and try it. They have very many choices.

Good Luck

I have dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and a olive- beige skin tone. I want to go lighter, but I am not exactly sure what would be the best for me. I am sick of just this brown hair all of the time. So can someone please help me???

Answer
I have the same hair color and complexion =P

What has worked for me in the past:
-ashy, dark blonde highlights (bleach with light ash brown toner)
-blue highlights (bleach + manic panic)

And consequently, what hasn't worked:
-red
-golden dark blond
-all-over blue

To sum it up, I'd stick with cool colors.. but some reason, olive skin is 'supposedly' is more suited for warm colors. Eh
