whats the most trendiest teen hair color/shade right now?

m_yprettye

is it brown, red, blonde, green, purple?

what shade

Answer
I'd think it's when the top layer of hair is blonde, but the bottom layer is dyed either a dark brown or black. Like 80% of tween girls I see nowadays have this style. Or it's the dark blonde with light blonde highlights.

Which color coat should i buy?

I am torn over which color i should buy- im 14 and have dark brown hair and eyes. This is my soon to be winter coat and i don't know which color! My family and i are leaning toward blue because it is more neutral and will go with more things but the red is more daring.

the red- http://shop.pacsun.com/girls/girls-jackets/Brit-Buffalo-Red-Jacket/index.pro

or the blue- http://shop.pacsun.com/girls/girls-jackets/Brit-Buffalo-Blue-Jacket/index.pro

Thanks

Answer
Blue would look trendier and more winder-esque.
Your hair color doesn't make a huge difference between the coats, therefore you should focus more on the style of them.
The red is more classic and woodsy, but switching the color to blue puts a modern twist on and old trend. Along with that furry hood, you've got a winner! :)

hair coloring developer?

Taylor

I have medium/ dark brown hair. I dye my hair black often, using soft black hair dye from a box. I am wanting to use professional permanent dye from sally's beauty supply this time, because my hair is fading in a weeks time. the only thing is, is i don't know how to decide what kind of developer i need and professionals don't actually work at sally's either so can someone on here tell me what developer i should use with black hair dye to apply to medium dark brown hair? thank-you.

Answer
You're only depositing color so 10 volume will work just fine. They higher volumes are for lifting color when you want to go lighter, box color usually comes with 30 volume developer which is harsher when you only want to make the hair darker.

Out of all the hair color Sally's carries I find that the ION Color Brilliance and Wella Color Charm dyes last the longest. ION's colors are richer though, in my opinion and they have their own brand of ION developer that's gentle on your scalp.

Make sure you use some good color protecting shampoo and conditioner so the color won't fade as fast!

hair color developer?

paulsbaby_

can i add developer to my store bought hair dye to make it lighter? creme or clear if yes i have volume 30 creme and clear and i am trying to go from brown to lightest blond possible i can't afford bleach so its outta the question and I have like 5 different blondes from loreal

Answer
Good question. Today I bought 30 volume and 40 volume developer and several hair colors designed for women with dark hair. I think I have everything I need but not bleach. I have naturally dark brown hair and I'm looking for dark blond and light brown highlights. I'm curious to hear the other responses.

I've heard that if you use 40 volume cream on dark hair then it will turn orange or yellow first. Be careful about damage.

The best thing you can do to see if it works is mix a 1:1 ratio of the developer with the dye in a small amount, then test a nice snip of your hair for the recommended time (mine is 30 minutes). Check the result and see if it's what you want.

Hair product question! Heat-protection/split-ends/long, healthy hair?

Lily. :)

First of all, hello Yahoo! Answers Community. :)
I have a few questions today:

My hair is chemically straightened, so I want my hair to be very healthy. The last time I got my relaxer was August 2010, so my natural hair is coming back. This causes me to straighten my hair.

SO HERE ARE THE ?s:

-Best heat protection sprays/products? Are there any that are under $20?
-Also, are there any leave-in conditioners that are just AMAZING?
-I have a lot of split-ends, what products would help?
-Tips on how to get healthy, long hair? Preferably past my elbows. :p

Please leave a link or the name of the brand. :)

If you have an answer to one, multiple, or maybe even all, please help and thank you for your time! :3

Answer
1. Heat protectant doesn't protect hair 100%. Like sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Not only will your hair get damaged, relaxers also can give you cancer.

Relaxers Warning: but they're not permanent. It is a billion dollar business, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse', in this case, cancer.
Google Permanently straightening hair warning, about 7,410,000 results (0.08 seconds) , more warnings during the last month. I've been posting about them since 2009. Canada had issued a public health warning regarding Brazilian Blowout and has stopped the distribution of their salon product; Ireland has also issued a recall. ~ Also published in Vogue Feb. 2011.

2. Leave-in conditioners does very little benefits for the hair.

3. Spend 5-10 mins. on a sunny day so you can spot your split ends easier, using a 2" scissors, cut strand by strand, section by section, allowing new growth to take over, then 2x a year get a good hair cut.

Eliminating the 'causes' will make your hair healthier, stronger, longer, and $400 richer each time you 'save your hair'.

Your hair is envy from us stick straight haired girls! If you know how to care for your hair type, you won't have this problem. Melina Kanakaredes is an example who has hair like yours and she's got beautiful wavy hair.

Shampoo. Condition. Towel dry, scrunch with gel like Samy, blow-dry using a diffuser briefly, tousle the hair, finger comb, shake your head & you're good to go. If you don't have a diffuser, use a blow heat dryer on low for 5 mins.
When you wake up, instead of shampooing again, keep a bottled water filled with water/conditioner and spray on your hair. Scrunch, finger comb and you're good to go!

One method to make it look fuller, add body, tame the curls, bouncier, thicker, SEXIER, softer & shinier hair is to set your hair with plastic curlers (not Velcro) after you towel dry, you'll end up with uniform balance of curls. Blow dry briefly while curling them in curlers. Take them out, and finger comb to style. Used by the best hair color models, and the fashion industry, like Victoria Secret Fashion Show Dec. 2009, America's Next Top Models, EXPRESS, Dancing with the Stars, even used on Oprah's hair . . . . and continued to be used today where salons care about pampering your hair. When you see hair on TV a hair color commercial, they're not done by curling or straightening tools. Hair that shines like that and feels like hair, not hay, has to be done by the best hair tools available w/out damaging to the hair. When you take the curlers out, finger comb to style or lightly brush. Tousle the hair up. or shake your hair. You can use large, medium or small curlers, that depends on the length of your hair.
There's a reason why JLo was voted the most Sexiest Woman, by People magazine, she's got long beautiful hair!

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - the website had moved, type it in.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tempered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

What would be a good hairstyle or cut for me? Pictures would be nice thanks!!

Maybe first of all you should try getting some type of bang cut... Then try curling it.

Try something like this style http://www.girlyana.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/fringe_hairstyle.jpg

What are some hairstyles that suit long faces?

Adella

I'm dying my hair soon and i'm hoping to get it cut a different way. I want something REALLY different, but long. I have a very round face. Any ideas?
excuse me...long hairstyles for round faces. I have a round face.

Answer
colour doesn't really matter :)

Try scrunching or curling your hair, you want a style that doesn't drag your face down:)

And although i HATE to say this since its a common topic, but try looking at the girl who plays bella in twilight and how her hair looks in the movie. Soft curls look nice in long hair basically :)

Are hair color removal kits damaging?

mmr

I was thinking of either buying hair color removal or having it taken out at a salon, but does it damage your hair ANY bit? I know stylists say hair coloring isnt damaging, but eventually it always seems to dry my hair out, and i don't want it to get any dryer looking by using color removal.

Also, will it take all of the dye out without turning it an odd color? My hair is dyed orangeish-red and is naturally light brown, and I don't want it to come out a differant color.

Answer
If a stylist tells you hair color is not damaging she/he is not being truthful. Blow drying is damaging. Having said that, a certain amount of damage to hair is acceptable, even nessacary for those individuals with fine limp hair because it gives the hair more body. So, what you need to be concerned with is the AMOUNT of damage any particular service does to hair. Hair color removal is an extreme process that requires someone with the knowledge and experience to make the proper analysis of your hair and how much it can withstand. Hair color or it's removal is both an artistic and chemical process. Attempting it yourself is not wise. Remember, corrective color in a salon is more expensive than having the initail process done, not to mention safer when it comes to the condition of your hair.

Hair Colour?

kenrick f

hello friends .i jus got an awesome cut.im thinking about colouring my hair.but i want to know wheter hair colour is bad for the hair and what are its negative effects.much help would be appreciated

Answer
What hair colour you should get depends on how you look, the shape of your face, the skin tone and the eye colour.
Haircolours aren't the best thing for the hair. It dries the hair and it breaks easier. If you want a lighter hair colour, you need to bleach your hair, which really damages it. I personally like haircolours with oils, because they soften the hair. After you've coloured it, use lots of conditioner and stuff. Keep the hair soft and healthy. But, just by colouring it, your hair won't just break and fall of, but it won't be as strong as it was before. Bleaching can break the hair so much it falls of, but it's rare. It often gets damaged though

what is the best hair styling wax/cream for men ?

Asad

does anyone knows some good brands of hair wax for men? should give nice looking texture and firm hold, and fragrance also... any suggestions ?

P.S: Im asian with dark black hair.

Answer
Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they're dry, like a sponge.

Give it a final rinse with carbonated or sparkling water. Sparkling water reduces frizz because of its low pH level. This is a good treatment if you often let your curls air-dry because it will help to eliminate the frizz caused by humidity.
When you wake up, instead of shampooing again, keep a bottled water filled with water/conditioner and spray on your hair. Scrunch, finger comb and you're good to go! Google Haley Rinehart - American Idol she's got long beautiful curly hair! When my hair was permed in the 80's, my hair looked like hers. Look @ my hair now.

In a pinch lip balm can double as hair wax to add definition and get rid of hairline frizz.

what does styling cream for hair do?

Esad M

what is it used for?

is it like gel or something?

Answer
Most styling creams (Miss Jessies, Hair Rules, Mixed Chicks, Shea Moisture, etc) are all mostly used for natural hair types, or any hair that doesnt have a relaxer in it. The creams help to define the natural curls or waves. Some creams leaves the hair shinier, softer than others. You would have to experiment with different brands to see which works best for you. Gels also help to define the curls and waves but gels leaves the hair more stiff, hard, and crunchy. Feel free to email me.

what is the best hairstyle for a square face?

My eyes hu

Short, medium or long. Pictures would be nice too. Thanks in advance!

Answer
Long hair is the best hair length for a square face since it balances your face shape. Short/medium haircuts make your face appear smaller and boxier, focusing more attention to your strong jaw shape rather than your entire face. However an extremely short haircut like this would look great:

As for long hairstyles:

I do believe my face is either square for heart shaped. And I don't know if I should grow my hair out longer or get it cut shorter. My hair is pretty thin and has a natural wave to it.

What are good hairstyles for an oblong face?

Q. i have an oblong face and i want to change my hairstyle, but i don't know what kinds of hairstyles would look good on my face. What celebrities have an oblong face.....i would like pics of hairstyles for and oblong face too.

Answer
hello abigale here some sites

www.totalhair.net/ - 26k

hairstyle appropriate for the round face needs to provide volume or height at the top of the head, have minimal bulk or lie close at the sides, and if it is a longer style, should keep minimal volume and bulk at the lower ends of the hair. Individuals with round faces should avoid styles with full sides, and in cases where the hair is curly, layering and texturing to keep the hair close on the sides is imperative.

Fringe areas should feature angled curved or asymmetrical lines rather than horizontal ones so as to prevent emphasizing the width of the face. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways as shown in the images accompanying this article.

Style One:
This style is a variation on the pixie cut. It is short and layered, styled to lie close to the scalp, and would work especially well with wavy hair. The bangs are cut in a curved line and then notched to give texture and create an asymmetrical look. The close cut sides, and slight lift on top combine to create the illusion that the head is longer vertically, and thus more oval in shape.

Style Two:
This is a long blunt cut style with razor-cut layers framing the face. The hair is styled with a center parting and curved line around the face to keep the softness, while the length gives an illusion of a longer face by camouflaging the width of the face. The overall effect is a smooth, soft look. This is an ideal style for those with naturally straight, fine-to-medium hair.

Style Three:
This is another short, gamine haircut with textured bangs. This style is excellent for those with straight hair and can easily be styled as shown to create lots of lift and volume in the short layers, or with minimal volume to give a sleeker, smoother look. This style features an off-center parting and wedge-shaped bangs that are heavily textured with a razor. Like style one, this style creates the appearance that the face is longer by adding height, and therefore gives the impression that the face is an oval as opposed to being round.

Style Four:
This is a long hair style featuring an angle-cut fringe, and layering around the face on a basic blunt cut. The off-centered and angled parting draw the eye upward, while the closeness on the sides and length help to stretch the face into a more oval appearance. The bangs, while angle-cut, are also textured to offer a softer look and keep the face from appearing angular. This style would be excellent for those individuals with other features (such as prominent noses, wide-spaced or close-set eyes, etc.) which need a style that distracts.

Style Five:
This long layered hairstyle offers more volume and curl that the previous styles. The style creates the needed illusion of length by using the added volume and lift at the top of the head and the extra length to counter the volume on the sides. The bangs are wispy and the hair is styled with an off-center parting. The layered curls are styled to frame the face and enhance the impression that the face is more oval. This is a great style for those who have thick, curly or wavy hair.

Style Six:
Hereâs a style option chosen to show that you donât have to have super-short hair on a round face. The style is completely asymmetrical and center parted. The base style is a wedge-cut back that progresses to an A-line bob in front. The hair is styled straight and is razor-cut to give smooth texture to the look. The long fringe framing the face helps to create the impression of elongation and the appearance of an oval face. The asymmetry makes the style ideal for those with other challenges due to prominent or out of balance features.

Style Seven:
This mid-long razor-cut style offers a wispy fringe area, and an off-center parting. The angle of the bangs area helps to create a smooth look and helps create the impression of an oval shape. The style can be finished as shown for an up-to-date and trendy look, or can be blown smooth with a round brush, turning the ends under to make the look
sleek and smooth. This style works well for those who have fine-to-medium textured hair.

can u show pics. pls

Answer
Round faces look best with hairstyles that enlongate or "toughen up" your face. These are really easy to do and won't take too much time:

The Bump enlongates your faces and makes you look more symmetrical:

Pinned Bangs with flat-ironed hair toughen your smooth face:

Soft Sude Buns accentuate your beautiful, soft features:

Ponytails with headband create volume to lengthen the face:

A simple bob that follows the curve of your face is very flattering:

Answer
Dear girl, you are SO beautiful, ANY hair style would look great on you. You may wish to go to a pro to correct the color of your hair so it looks natural & you're happy with it. Sure, it will still be blonde, but perhaps a more natural blonde you like a lot more.

A great way to see what would look good on you for one, is to pull all your hair back & take snapshots of your face, then upload the photo in to one of those programs or find a site that lets you fiddle with the program for free, that allows you to try on different hairstyles, cuts & colors.

The other thing you can do is to find a celebrity that resembles you the most & go to google images & type her name in there to scroll through lots of haircuts & styles that girl has tried to get a great idea of how it would look on you. I think Reece WItherspoon, Dakota Fanning and her sister Ellie Fanning would all have a similar look. Try putting each of their names in google images & just scroll through to see what you love most. It's SO fun being a girl at your age & trying different fun hair cuts. Just have fun with whatever you pick & wear it with confidence. Again, just about any hair style would look terrific on you since you're such a lovely girl. You have a great fresh look to you. You will never need much makeup to look your loveliest!! Woohoo!

A tip with this free software, if you like a style & want to save it, you can first wait until you have the hairstyle you like, then to take a snapshot of it, press the "PrtSc"button over there on the top right on your keyboard, then paste in to your microsoft paint program that image to save it before moving on to the next one & do the same to collect them. Maybe you can save a dozen hairstyles & cuts, THEN post them up & number them, then ask everyone to vote on the one they like best on you. That would be FUN!!!

do you know any good hair styles?

Little Cal

i need some good hair styles for school and just because i need some new things to do with my hair. (ex. pts for pics! :]) thanks in advance!

p.s. my hair is about 3/4/5 inches longer then my shoulders.
please answer!

Answer
1st of all when you get a hair style it should be a hair style you like not just because others like it.
2nd if you don't like this hair style then it's o.k but find one that you like.

you can change the hair color if you want or you don't even need this hair style.

male hairstyles for a round face?

Joe T

Ok my face is round/diamond and I'm bored of my hairstyle is medium lengh with a side fringe and long side burns to cover my cheekbones, I was thinking of some hairstyles but I can't copy them (I'm on the iPod touch. But if you search on youtube "1million" and it is the models hair, the second one is (YouTube "syncsta" and watch the bid saying "tea drinking" and it's the guy in yellow. any other suggestions? Sorry it's a wall of text the bloody thing has no enter button LOL !
well i have i small forehead and diagonally goes out to wide cheekbones but i have a rounded jaw

Answer
There is no way I can see to have a round/diamond face. Long sideburns shorten a face, so they don't suit a round face. With a round face shorter sideburns than usually go with a style are appropriate. I am betting your face might be heart shaped. For hairstyles, try the galleries at the haircuts for men site.

"Round: The round face is short with a wide forehead, a rounded hairline, curved jawbones that slope either to an oval or pointed chin. The forehead, cheeks, and jawbones are of equal width. Try to break down the round look. Maximize top hair to balance jawbones and thus lengthen the face. "
L.S. Trusty, "The Art and Science of Barbering" pg 130.
"Diamond: The diamond face is wide at the eyes and cheekbones and narrow at the forehead and chin. Its oblique jawbones taper sharply to a pointed chin. Minimize the top hair and maximize the hair at the sides.
L.S. Trusty, "The Art and Science of Barbering" pg 131.
"Heart: The heart shaped face is broadest across the cheekbones and has a wide, broad forehead. It is narrow at the jaw line and wide at the eyes. The jawbones curve either to an oval or pointed chin that completes the heart shape. Almost any style is becoming on this normal type of face. The hair may be either short or long, but preferably a little fuller on the top than on the sides."
