Prom is coming up and I really have no clue what color and style of dress I should look for. Does anybody know what would look best for my hair color and skin tone? I'm pretty pale, have really really really long darkish blond hair. I am 5' 7'' and 123 pounds, pretty small chested, flat stomach, but thicker legs, so short dresses don't look too great on me :/ Also suggestions for jewelry, accessories, and shoes would be appreciated! There is a link to a picture of me to help! Thanks! (:
Hairstyle tips would be great too! My hair is so long so it's hard to curl :/

Answer
can i just start off with how beautiful you are!!!, your hair is amazing!!

You would look good in a long flowy dress, baby blue chiffon material or a lilac, deep purple, those colours would look great, and because your tall (like me) long length will suit your figure beautifully....a few sparkles/diamanté would look great......dont go for a puffed-out dress, it will suit you but a loose flowy one will really compliment your figure :)

http://www.promdressesonlineshop.co.uk/images/prom1214/column-floor-length-one-shoulder-light-blue-pd1220-sequins-trailing-high-slit-prom-dress.jpg ................ something like this would look beautiful

http://syracusepromdress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Blush-prom-dress-9513.jpg - this is so cute and elegant

SHOES - because you are pale, silver is the perfect colour for you skin tone, go for a small ish heel like this - https://www.glitzy-n-glamorous.com/images/silvercrisscross31.jpg

BAG - pick a silver bag, try and match it with your shoes/ dress

ACCESSORIES - depends on the fitting of your dress if you dont have any fancy one-shoulder straps or strap wear a very elegant dimante necklace, dangly earring a ring and a cute bracelet, try and keep it matching too, a little colour would look good on the jewellery, (matching your dress)

HAIR - keep the colour its gorgeous, maybe you colour try sleeping in rollers? if you want it curly as it will make the curls stronger then curl with curler using very good hair products, try braiding it too, half up and down hair styles look very classy.....a updo would look really good too

here are my faves -

MAKE UP - go for a natural look - gold/copper/brown smokey eyes with a little eyeliner and a pair of natural false eyelashes, a nice pink bush and nude lipstick :)

hope i helped you out....enjoyed looking for ideas for you, good look have a nice prom xoxo

What color should I dye my hair?

Q. I have a pale skin tone and I want a grunge look. Ok so think Frances Bean. Same skin tone. Love her hair! When it's blonde. But the thing is, I don't want it blonde. I tried doing the ombre thing at home but I ruined it x(
I don't want to go to a salon. I cut my own hair as well as dye it. I'm thinking about dying it red. But it's hard to manage. I'm just stuck! Any ideas?

Answer
Pale skin often looks good with Dark browns or blacks, Rangas/oranges and bright reds.

Red hair is VERY hard to maintain, i warn you, but it looks AMAZING! If you go for a red, i suggest you touch it up about every 4 weeks. Or just whenever it starts to fade. Also, red is a bugger to get out, and will take a long time to get rid of when you want to change again. :)
Good luck.

How to make short straight men hair wavy without straighteners or curlers?

I have about 2 to 3 inch long hair. My hair is straight and no matter what i do it always just sticks up and looks stiff. I wanted to make it wavy to make it look different and not have the same straight hair look but just in different directions :/ . However i do not want to have to use a hair straighter or curler everyday as people say its bad for my hair. So I was wondering if there was any other way to achieve wavy hair from straight hair. I was going for something like this:(http://fashionhoster.com/wp-content/uploads/mens-hairstyles-fashion-trends-2012-2013.jpg)
If the original link doesn't work try this one, I want something like the third one down.

http://fashionhoster.com/top-short-haircuts-for-fine-hair/

Answer
before you go to bed get bobby pins, make curls and pin it to your head. when you wake up it should be wavy. another thing to get wavy hair is salt spray, it gets you the same texture you get when you go to the beach! for some reason the link you gave is showing up with "page not found" so i cant really see the exact look your trying to achieve but i suggest you try this first! itll get you wavy hair and make it look a little more thicker with more texture.

His hair looks naturaly spikey and his bangs hangout and off to the side like that. How can I do that to my hair? What type of haircut should I get to achieve it? Any tips or advice please? Thanks.

Answer
I would definitely talk to a hair dresser.

But what is your natural hair type. Sometimes you just cant do some stuff with the hair you have. try straightening it if its thick or curly. I doubt his hair is naturally spikey. Get some gel and mess around with it. Or show a hair dresser the pic and he/she could help you

I have dark brown hair with alot of gray through it, but the stuff I use from the store doesn't cover all my gray and I even leave it on the longest time suggested in the directions. 10Points!!!!

Answer
Box colors are all about the same and give the same result. You may have to change and use professional colors. These are just as easy to use as box colors. If you use one bottle of color that would be 2 oz. mix in with 2 oz of 20 volume developer, you will have 4 oz of color. Apply the same way. If you need 2 bottles of color then use 4 oz of developer giving you 8 oz of color. There are some beauty supply stores that will sell to the public.

Can you recommend good hair dye brand for long term use that doesn't cause allergies or cancer?

Nookie

My mom dyes her grey hair every 2 months, she ends up with redness all over her neck and any spot that comes in contact with her hair dye. Are there any safe hair dye products out there?

Answer
your mother is allergic to hair dye. Usually, this does not happen. Most hair color is safe to use, but to be sure, you should perform a spot test behind your ear. By this, I mean take a small sample of the hair color on a cotton ball and apply behind your ear. If you dont have an allergy to it, you should be fine to use the product. If your having it done at a salon, you can go in for a spot test. They wont mind. You could very well be senitive to the color since your mom is, so i reccomend it. As for cancer, it has NOT EVER been proven to cause cancer, unless you drink 40 bottles a day for a year. That is the only way a researcher has ever proved that haircolor causes cancer. Good luck with your color!!

Looking for hairstyles for extremely fine hair on a plus size female any suggestions where to look?

I have extremely fine hair and I am tired of the same style. I have kind of a fat round face and everything looks bad to me. I need a web site that gives ideas especially for fine hair or plus size people. Most cuts are made for the thin! Any suggestions where to look?

Answer
I am a plus sized woman with fine hair.

What I did was go to websites for plus-size clothing and see what models are wearing.

Try looking up true plus-sized models, such as on Monif C's site or loveyourpeaches.com. Loose, flowy, and volumnious is how those women wear it.

Generally a combo of volume and length works. Don't thin out your hair with layers, try one length just below shoulder (if long enough for that).

Concentrate on shine & volume. I like Loreal's Pearl Shine shampoo & conditioner and Bumble & Bumble's Thickening Spray.

If you're feeling adventurous get a loose permanent for waves. Or try a new color, something bold like red, black, or very blonde.

Good Luck!

What are good hairstyles for round faces?

Chelsey

I'm a 13 year old girl and I have a round face. So I was wondering what would be some good hairstyles?

Answer
BEST HAIRSTYLES FOR ROUND FACES:

Firstly, what is your hair type?

Medium to long curly hair? Ask your stylist for some choppy layers through the back and the bottom of your hair to give it some shape and sex appeal. Whether your hair is long or short, if it's prone to a wave or curl, avoid at all costs ending up with a rounded 'bubble cut'.

Straight hair? The golden rule to remember is that round faces need a style that has longer pieces that fall onto your face to lengthen your cheeks - making them look slimmer and your cheekbones more structured. Try a graduated bob cut on to the face and higher at the back. Alternatively, a choppy shag will suit your face shape.

Fringe options: Don't go near a short blunt fringe - it will only emphasise a round face. On the other hand, a long wispy fringe will look great and suit fine hair. And if your hair is thicker, a longer fringe that you can sweep to the side will lengthen your face.

⢠Colour you sexy: Talk to your stylist about low lights at the side of the face and lighter highlights at the top of the head to create the illusion of lustrous length.

Avoid
Chin length hair with a rounded line that mirrors faceâs circular shape. Center parts. Short-short crops, straight "chopped" bangs. Fullness at side of ears. A rounded haircut ending at the chin will certainly add weight to your face shape. Because the widest part of your face is at the cheeks and ears, you need to avoid having the fullness of the cut here as it will make your face appear wider.

Other round face celebrities include:
Ingrid Bergman, Roseanne Barr, Kate Winslet, Natalie Merchant, Drew Barrymore, Christina Ricci, Charlotte Church

More about round face hairstyles:

Parts

A side part with a sweeping fringe is the traditional recommendation for round faces. I must admit, it is my favourite part too â it is so feminine and it adds more dimension to the face with the different angles

A centre part can work well â it creates a balance between the roundness of the cheeks and the hairline. However I havenât seen this look actually done well often â the layers in the hair need to be just right, and the hair needs to be the right length.

Fringes

Side swept, longer bangs is the standard advice given to round faces, as they add dimension as well as flattering the face shape.

Round faces have always been warned off the straight bangs. However these need not be totally off limits â they just need to be a bit choppy at the ends, finishing just before they hit your eyes, and not too full. Alternatively, think of Audrey Hepburn, with her very short fringe. Remember that hers was also quite choppy, and not a straight line.

Long

Texturising and layering, slimming down hair round the face looks great â it reduces bulkiness around the face, allowing the face shape to shine!

Long layers are the perfect compliment â so sweeping and feminine!

Short

A really great style is one that is a little shorter at the back and a little longer at the front, hitting between the chin and the shoulder. This is a sexy, edgy look, with a great contrast between the face shape and hairline.

One thing to avoid with short hair is rounded bobs sitting at chin level â youa re not doing yourself justice with this hairstyle! Try growing it out a little to have it sitting a little lower, and getting the sides trimmed so there is less roundedness.

Curls

Loose, sweeping curls are hot! Avoid tight ringlets round the face â these just add bulk.

Keep them full around shoulder height and lower, and loose the bulk around the cheeks and you will have one sexy head!

Straight

If you have a round face and straight hair, I bet you have despaired at times, as straight hair has often been told it is âtoo severeâ for round faces. Well, again I disagree â you can certainly make straight hair work for you! Adding layers, shifting the part and going for asymmetric styles is where its at! Because round faces by nature very symmetrical in shape from all angles, they are complimented by asymmetric styles, regardless of whether they are curly or straight.

In an up-do

Have the hair fuller at the crown, and close to the head around the ear and cheek level. This balances the hair and face shape nicely! Think quiffs! Conversely, avoid volume at the sides â this will not do your face justice!

For something more casual, if you have a couple of waves in your hair, tie it in a loose, slightly tossled, low side bun. This is SUCH a sexy look â the loose waves create a gentle look, and the low bun gives a nice balance!

To make this style a little more striking, get a couple of bobby-pins and loosely pin the top half of your hair in the middle at the back, pushing the bobbyâs upward to add height. Then grab the rest and make the same bun.

Hope this helps :)

I've been dyeing my hair black for a bout 3 years now and i'd like to dye it a vibrant red, but in order to do that i need to get my hair a light blonde. For now i JUST want to remove the black dye using home remedies since i don't have much time to go out and buy color strip products, i don't care what color it might turn,

Answer
Try using the lemon juice method. You need to basically spray your hair with lemon juice(look up the other things to put into it, idk..) walk out and you can sun bleach it. It'll only go a tone higher, but it lightens it! Black is a very difficult colour to bleach alone.. so good luck.

What does more long term damage to your hair?

Bleaching it? Or Stripping your hair color with a stripping product?

Bleaching it.

best hair color for women over 65 image

your.halo.

how do you prepare them and where can you find them?
are there any other *healthier* teas?

Answer
Green Tea:

Green Tea (tee) Extract acts as an antioxidant, lowers serum glucose, maintains kidney health and blocks angiogenesis. It reduces platelet aggregation (preventing clots) and lowers high blood pressure.

Spearmint Tea:

Spearmint tea - A possible treatment for mild hirsutism

Women with hirsutism grow hair on their faces, breasts and stomachs. This can cause great distress. The hair grows because they have abnormally high levels of the 'masculinising' androgen hormones. Androgens travel around the body in the blood stream, and a key way of treating hirsutism is to reduce the level of these androgens.

Preparation:

Green Tea/White Tea Preparation For green tea brewing, a lower temperature 65 to 80 degrees Centigrade (150-175 degrees Fahrenheit) is recommended. Steep for about 2-3 minutes. Use 1 teaspoon of tea for every 8-12 ounces of water depending on your taste. If you use the same leaves for a second and/or more serving do it right away. Usually green tea and white tea leaves can be have up to fourth serving. If the leaves sit for more than 2 hours discard them and brew a fresh pot. Low temperature can preserve the green color, flavor, and nutrition of high-end green tea. Put tea leaves into the teapot first; pour in the medium temperature water ( or you can pour 70% of hot water first, and immediately followed by the 30% cold water at room temperature); then, leave the tea pot or tea glass open to air so that the quality preserved. Leave the tea pot open is critical to green tea/white tea preparation. Never boil/cook the green tea leaves!

Spearmint Leaf :

To use as a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water
over 1 teaspoon of herb, cover and steep
for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wow, people are being really mean to you. There's nothing wrong with sharing a little information. I'm starting to think that we DO need a healthy eating section.

I agree that you feel a lot better eating that way, but I just can't stay out of Maggie Mudd. Neither can I leave the curly fries alone, or the popcorn or the reese's cereal....basically if it's not hurting an animal I'll eat it, despite the hydrogenated oils and all that other bad stuff.

I have always liked more of the I guess punk/emo hairstyles like with the sweepy bangs and kinda choppy. I also want something where I can pull most of my hair back. Can anyone help me? Is there a hair color that does not color the gray hairs?

best hair color for gray hair image

ajbbs@sbcg

I love my gray hair (about 25%) but would like to add auburn tones to my natural color. I don't want to lighten or darken, just add a little bit of red.

Is there a hair color that would just add a little color to my "regular" hair and leave my gray hair as is?

Answer
Use gray dye for all the hair, it will do the job.

Can anyone tell me what the best store bought hair colour is for covering grey hair?

Chewie

I'm only 27, but because I took after my dad, I started to get grey hair at a young age (a few here and there).

I find that most hair colour doesn't cover grey hair for very long.

Answer
First to clear up one fact is that your hair doesn't turn Grey. It starts losing color pigmentation. When that happens the individual hair will become flatter in circumference. Each color inside a hair has different size color molecules. When you add color, the molecules in that color will attach itself to the one inside the hair. Gray lacking in molecules, has no ability to hold onto the color molecules, permanently. You can help it by adding a filler first. You can get a clear filler and apply it first to dry hair and let it dry. Then add the color. You can get a bottle of filler from your favorite beauty salon, or have them apply it the day before you color. The filler has a different molecule structure that will grab hold of the gray, and then the color molecules will attach to the them, giving more holding power. Not sure which color is best to buy. That depends on if your going for ease, price, or both. Try them and see what works best for you. Good Luck

How can I lighten my hair without using expensive products?

Sheylah

Okay, I have a dark brown hair color, and I want it to be light brown, but my mom won't buy me ANY product made specially for that purpose. Any ideas? Oh, and nothing that is going to completely fry my hair, either. Thanks!

Answer
You can use a honey deep condition with: Raw honey, distilled water, and olive oil or coconut oil. OPTIONAL: Cinnamon. Raw honey has traceable amount of peroxide in it to lighten hair, and the other ingredients just enhance that peroxide.
Mix about 1/4 cup of raw honey, 1 tablespoon of oil, and enough distilled water to spread it, but not make it super watery. Add cinnamon if you want for bleaching/streaking properties.
Apply as a conditioner to wet hair in sections, to thoroughly saturate your hair. Leave it in for at least an hour or so. Then rinse it out.

This is not going to give overnight results, especially with darker hair. Repeat until you achieve desired results (may take weeks, may take months). Because all these ingredients are natural, nothing bad will happen to your hair. Even if it doesn't lighten, you're still getting an awesome deep condition!

Warning: Cinnamon may cause tingling sensation. If cinnamon starts to burn your scalp, omit it from the recipe.

Repeat this maybe 1-3 times a week. I don't know what your hair type is, so I don't wanna say how many times you should condition it.

A great video to watch would be AndreasChoice video (she's amazing) Just type in DIY Hair Lightener. She should be one of the first results on YouTube.

I am planning on dying my hair, it is very coppery right now.

My skin tone is medium with coppery undertones and I don't want to look washed out, but my eyes are very dark and I'm not sure if it'd look awkward.

I am Asian and my natural hair color is cool black.

The opposite of green is red, so a redish brown might help your eyes stand out. But golden blonde is beautiful, if I were you, I would keep that. (:

When did getting unatural colored hair dyes get popular?

most popular hairstyle 2012
on Want to know what kind of hairstyles are going to be in vogue for 2013 ...
most popular hairstyle 2012 image

Me

I'm writing about about hair dyeing. Like, who made it popular and how, where did it get more popular, what artists are known for doing it a lot, what type of people did it (like emo, scene, etc). When did it get popular? what did people think about it? Mostly everything please x
Interesting facts too!

Answer
Colourful hair mostly got extremely popular When scene or $c3n3 got popular.
It looks like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmKDJXNLg4I

people often found in entertaining to add cool colours to this hairstyle.
girls most commonly from the ages of 13-17 who go through those kinds
of hairstyles call it their "$c3n3 phase".

scene has been going on for a really long time but kind of started in 2008, failed
by summer of 2009 then started coming back in fall of 2010.

It partially slowed down then came back in 2012.

Its a colourful emo style that spread wildly over myspace!

Dying your hair unnatural colors was frowned upon by past generations. The younger generation now is known to be very rebelious and started this trend. Some clame its a way of people "begging for attention" Others think its all part of a "rock or punk theme". Both could be true in different cases. There are many reasons for dying your hair unnatural colours such as stepping out of the crowd, to stand out, rebel, show their true colors, to cope, to support someone of something, self confidence issues, or remembrance.

Manic Panic is one of the most popular hair coloring products.
In 2004, MTV mentioned Manic Panic in a television documentary, crediting them for beginning what would become a trend of men and women wearing different hair colors in the 2000s.

Victoriandustrial artist Emilie Autumn uses Manic Panic hair-dye. Marilyn Manson also uses many Manic Panic products

Hope this helps!

What do people think of me with this hairstyle?

Loren

I've always had this hairstyle https://s3.amazonaws.com/luuux-original-files/bookmarklet_uploaded/scene-hair_0.jpg I do my hair like this because i'm into asian hairstyles and anime. Now i know it's considered emo but i'm not nor scene or any of that i'm wondering what do people actually think of people having this hairstyle?

Answer
I've worked in fashion for a number of years and this hairstyle was "in" starting all the way back in 2006 got really popular in 2009-2012 and now is kind of fizzling out everywhere except some stereo groups in japan and Asia which it's still pretty big and that are still trying to keep it going.

To me its an OK hairstyle, turns heads but not always for the right reasons. It's difficult to keep that shape so when some girls do get it right it doesn't stay like that for long and they are tempted to cut it themselves turning it into some awful Edward scissor hands hack-job.
On another note it hides a a lot of girls faces making them un-approachable. It hides their beauty. It shows little confidence when you hide behind your hair. Then again it can be cute if accesorised well and you don't wear so much eye-liner.

Can the American Girl Place in LA or Dallas change a dolls eye color?

Q. We're visiting LA and won't be back for a while and I want a doll, but all of them either have the rong eye or hair color- I would like it to be where they look like me :) Can they like put in new eye balls or something after you buy the doll?

Answer
The AG hospital refuses to do so, but I do have some advice for getting the doll of your dreams. Buy a doll with the eye colour you want, and the face shape that you like. Then, find a wig online and rewig her.
Link for a great wig site: rubyredgalleria.com

Link for how to rewig your AG doll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnNAfGxpgQY

Then sell your old wig, still in perfect condition, on ebay. You can probably get 20-30 dollars for it. People want authentic AG wigs in good condition.

I went to the Salon yesterday. I asked for a cut, and to color and highlight. The sign out front said COLOR: $39.95. We decided to do some highlights also. I got my hair highlighted and colored, then she washed it out and cut it about 1 inch. When I got rang up, a hairstyle that cost me $40.00 before ended up costing $105.00. Is it normal for her to charge me $39.95 for color, $49.95 for highlights, $13.50 for Shampoo and Cut? I feel I overpaid but I could be wrong. Also, she charged a friend of mine $100.00 for a perm, the advertised price was $39.95, she charged $59.95 (Said it goes by length), plus $13.50 for cut and shampoo (which was not asked for, except to trim while rolling and wash the perm out), and she got some "product" that was on sale. I may be wrong, but I feel we were over charged, please let me know if this is the "usual" price. The salon was in a Wal-Mart, so it's not really a "High End" salon.
Also, we didn't add anything on. Right from the time we sat down we told her exactly what we wanted. The color and highlights were done at the same time, and i thought they came together (like last time), and my friend didnt ask for a seperate haircut, the cutting was done with the perm to make the hair even.

Answer
where ever you are high end or not thins are on a sliding scale and actually you and your friend paid for exactly what you got granted she should not have cut her hair with out asking and most perms come with a cut but it was also your friends responsibility to say something when she took ou the sissors to tell you the truth the prices you put down are the same as mine with the exception of the cut i'm sorry i'm sure this wasn't the answer you were looking for but it is from a stylist point of view and in your case when a client sits in your chair and starts adding things on you assume they know it will cost extra you also say in you question that
"I got my hair highlighted and colored, then she washed it out and cut it about 1 inch"
labeling each task seperatly indicating they were different services

I need hairstyle ideas for school but it's a little challenging. Have any help?

sweetlyhop

I am on swim team but my practices are from 6-7am. When I get home at approximately 7:10am, I have to get dressed before school starts in 1 hour plus the time it takes to get to school which leaves me about 50 minutes for my hair. I shower for about 5 minutes and blow-dry. (but it takes FOREVER to do that) so do you have ANY ideas for shoulder length hair?

Answer
you could put your hair in a cute messy bun?Or why dont you just go to youtube.com and search 'quick hairstyles' or 'hairstyles for shoulder length hair', theres alot of people who do hair tutorials on there so...yea :]
