Best hair colors for yellow skin undertones?

best hair color yellow undertones image

Avery.

I am half white, half Asian. I have normal sized eyes and eye folds, however i think I look more asian and i have a yellow skin undertone

I always wear realistic looking grey contacts though (for school, hanging out with friends, etc) my eyes are naturally dark brown. What hair color should i have? Would it match with both eye colors? Thanks!

Answer
Definitely nice neutral brown shades all the way up to black. You may even suit a cool brown colour, but most commonly a yellow undertoned person looks best with warm and neutral tones. Avoid blondes though, they'll make your face look even brighter/yellower and it will just look very artificial. Browns will look beautiful!

What hair color would look good with hazel eyes?

Q. I have hazel eyes and very light skin with a yellow undertone. What kind of hair color would look good with that combination, in your opinion?
Haha, Sur, I do not CARE what your imaginary friend thinks of my hair. You're not wanted here.

Answer
A dark chocolate brown would be gorgeous! Maybe even add a few highlights that are a few shades lighter than the chocolate brown.

Is the Brazilian blowout cure to severely damaged and frizzy hair?

best hair color portland or

best hair color portland or image

Pandora

My hair is sooo damaged and frizzy due to lots of coloring & bleaching treatments, and i see that the Brazilian blow out is just what im looking for. Is it really true that even the worst and severely damaged hair can come back to life with this miracle?

Answer
Chemicals can damage your hair bad, and if you have frizzy hair, it's already damaged, adding more chemicals to MORE DAMAGED hair can cause instant hair loss. The people who've given you that wrong advice must have been either trolls, or 11-13 year olds, or hairstylists who also have damaged hair - many of them do, since they're always hair experimenting with chemicals.

I wouldn't recommend them. There are many brands of hair straightening out there and they call them anyway they want to get your attention. Coco is another name brand. Some Japanese hair straightening processes can damage the hair and leave it flat and lifeless.
None is better than the other.
Ex. of one relaxer: http://monicabtheorganicstylist.wordpress.com/tag/hair-relaxers/

Keratin are not approved by the FDA. Visit their website & search for it in their web. If you're thinking about the Brazilian treatment, there's a danger about using formaldehyde, a chemical that causes cancer. The FDA does not restrict the use of that chemical in cosmetics.

A hairstylist in Portland, Or. is blowing a whistle on the treatment.
"A big red flag: About a month after she started using Brazilian Blowout on clients, Scrutton had the first nosebleed of her life."
http://www.oregonlive.com/health/index.ssf/2010/10/
after_hair_stylist_becomes_sus.html
(Type it in if they moved the page. "After hairstylist becomes suspicious of Brazilian Blowout, tests find formaldehyde".

Canada had issued a public health warning regarding Brazilian Blowout and has stopped the distribution of their salon product; Ireland has also issued a recall. ~ Also published in Vogue Feb. 2011.

Stylists and clients often wear gas masks or other protective equipment and still may feel the ill effects of this potentially fatal gas.

Many customers and stylists do not know that this Brazilian treatment often contains high concentrations of formaldehyde, a cancer-causing chemical.

Relaxers are for permanent, but they are damaging to hair.

The official complaints against hair straightening products range from serious hair breakage and hair damage to serious scalp burns that may require an emergency room visit.

Example of what one suffering severe hair loss after Japanese Hair Straightening from YA HAIR:
I got my hair rebonded back in March and have lost more than a third of it since then. Everytime I run my hands through my hair, I lose 7-10 strands on average!
In the shower I lose clumps after shampooing and conditioning.
Bald spots are showing up in my hair.
I used to have beautiful thick hair, ho can I get it back?

Another ex: I used to have very curly, beautiful hair..and then i got it chemically straightened..DONT DO IT! when it started growing out, it was mess and even more difficult to work with than before. and once it was completely grown out, my hair was no longer curly..it is now this aweful wavy mess, and only certain spots are still curly.

Another example: I don't recommend it. Hair went back to normal even before 4 months (it stated that the Keratin would stay on for 4months). Soft rebonding would be the better choice. I think the KeraStraight was a scam. Even the KeraStraight shampoo/conditioner did no contribution. It was a complete waste of money :/ However it was straight for awhile. But not very long.

Source(s):
I know hair. I have 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.

What is your opinion on unnaturally colored hair?

Ska.Ska.Sk

I'm not talking about a few carefully placed streaks in an attempt to look rebellious, I'm talking full out color. I've had neon pink hair since April and I've found that people really like it. [Though this may be because I live in Liberal-Land Portland, Oregon....] It's an easy conversation starter, gets me quite a few compliments, and acts as an idiot barrier. If people aren't willing to talk to me because of my hair color, then I don't want to be talking to them in the first place.

What do you think about people who dye their hair unnatural colors?
Are you more or less likely to talk to these people?
Do you find yourself making judgements about their personality because of their hair?

Answer
it sets your apart from the rest of the world who is afraid to DIFFERENT! dare to be YOU! i say go for it!

if you're gonna do it, don't half azz it. give it your whole heart!

Hairstyle for short forehead and wide jaw?

Manuela

I have really small and short forehead, really low & thin eyebrows and big cheeks with wide jaw. and lots of hair haha. imagine mickey mouse without the black ear part :D what hairstyle is appropriate for this.. weird face-shape?

Answer
I would say a high bun or a high messy bun would look pretty, this suits most faces and looks stunning. As if you leave the hair down, your head would look huge. But you said you have lots of hair therefore a bun would cover that all up. There are many tutorial on youtube and internet. Just search it up 'hair bun tutorial' ! You would pull it off! :)

How do you get henna out of hair?

Pixie

I've hennaed my hair for a while now, and I want to go back to my natural hair color. How do I get the henna out of my hair?

Answer
Henna is very difficult to remove from hair. It's like a natural permanent hair dye. Hair care professionals that offer hair color "removal" services even have a hard time removing henna from hair.

You are either going to have to let the parts of your hair that have henna in them grow out, or you will have to cut your hair out.

I would not recommend shampooing your hair repeatedly with clarifying shampoo, because it can be harsh and dry out your hair.

I'm in the middle of white and tan. I'm light skinned not super brown, almost like a pale yellow. Dont laugh. Okay pretty much Jennifer Lopez's skin tone and my husband is caucasian with white/tan his family memebers are really white with golden brown hair. What skin color do you think our child will have?

Answer
Your baby can be as dark as the darkest of your relatives or as light as the lightest. It is more likely you will have a lighter baby but not guaranteed.

What can i do to get my natural hair color back?

Mniiie

I had never dyed my hair before and I had the brilliant idea to dye it black. My natural hair color is a medium ash brown, I dyed it about two months ago and now its a really dark brown. What can I do to get it back to my natural hair color? The color is fading, do you think it would fade to my natural hair color?

Answer
Yes, if you just shampoo & condition as usual.
Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. Watch Victoria Newman on the Young & the Restless (her dyed blond hair had been growing for months & months), now Chloe on Y&R has two-tone hair, and another on Entertainment Tonight, she's one of the correspondence. Chloe Kardashian, Drew Barrymore & Guiliana Rancic (btw, she just had double mastectomy), Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez (when she's not wearing hair extensions) have had their hair done like that (letting their highlights fade) for years! The other night, I even spotted Ivanka Trump's hair, she's letting her hair grow naturally on the Apprentice. They call that look ombre hair color â darker roots, lighter ends â but colorists sees that fading. Women are wanting dimensional color with natural highlights that look like they've been playing out in the sun.

I have really curly hair that is just a little over shoulder length. So far the only hairstyles i've been trying out were a simple ponytail, bun, side bun, side ponytail, and that's it. My hair is starting to get kinda boring lol, so does anyone have any cute hairstyles for really curly hair?? Oh and don't forget that my hair is a little over shoulder length. Thanxx :)

Answer
Some cute hairstyles are:
Updos
Two side pony tails (not up like a little girl, loose on shoulers)
Take a small section of hair from the front and pull it back with bobby pins or a small hair tie.
Take the top half of hair and make a ponytail out of it, leaving some bottom layers down.
You can also, just throw in a cute headband, and leave your bangs out if you have any, or get a cute hair pin, and pull back a small section on the side(:

Also straighten it.

How do you get an acting agent?

DUUUUHHH

Do you have to get a head shot? Where do you Get it? Do you do your own make up and hair when you go and get your head shot? HOw do you do your resume? where is a good place to look for agents? When you get one, what if they never call you? in southern Orange County, where is a good place to get your head shot and an agent you have to audition for?

please answer only if you know. can you please put down any other information you might have that you may think is important for me? thanks so mmuch.

Answer
The first thing you need to do is a good head shot, black and white 8" x 10".

In your resume:
I. Name and Last name, address phone and e mail address.

II. Skin Color
Weight
height
body type

III. Performance Experience You need to start with the most recent you've have made. Then follow the chronology order. Write there only the important things. Agents don't like to read long resumes.

IV. Master Classes, Seminars, Trainings etc.

V Prizes and honors (If you have received) Could be Scholarships.

VI. Studies (If you have formal studies example: BA degree in musical Theater from UCLA)

VII. Skills (Those skills you can apply in your acting career. Example: 4 years of Ballet, 12 years of Classical Piano etc.

Your resume should be only One Page, Unless you have a lot of experience like important roles, commercials, TV etc.

Go to Hollywood, there is a big book store only for actors and actress. They sell a list of agents addresses, phone numbers and e mails. That cost like $20.00

Other choice is trying to start making movies as an extra, and ask for auditions.

Some agents are busy trying to push other artists that they consider have more potential. Be aware of this. If you want to go far in your career, find someone big.

Hope this help.

Any good place to purchase Cosplay/Anime materials around Southern California?

houounotot

A group of friends and myself are trying to make costumes for Anime Expo 2009. Does anyone know where we can buy some stuff like akatsuki red cloud patterns or wigs or ninja headbands from naruto. Any suggestions around Los Angeles or Orange County is helpful. Thanks!

Answer
Oh boy! You're cutting it close...AX09 is only days away! ;)

I usually purchase all of my cosplay needs online (eBay, etc.), so I'm not sure where you'd be able to find all the things you mentioned around LA. I'll try to give you a few suggestions though. Try JoAnn's fabric stores for the material, and if you can't find exactly what you need, try purchasing plain fabric of the correct color and paint the design on by hand. As for wigs, there are many costume shops around LA and the OC. Do a search for these shops online and be sure to call ahead so you don't waste time looking for things they might not stock.

Here's a place you might try:
Halloween Castle
(323) 268-8720
3674 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90063

Another good place is Anime Jungle:
http://www.animejungle.net/user/scripts/user/product_search.php
(213) 621-1661
319 E 2nd St #103
LA CA 90012

If you have no luck finding wigs, you can always use temporary hair dye instead. Manic Panic is a good quality dye and can be found in most big chain pharmacies such as Rite Aid or Walgreen's. Also check your local beauty supply store, which would likely have a larger color selection.

Hope this helps...but you better hurry! AX will soon be here!

What hairstyles will help with keeping my scalp cool during the summer?

best hairstyle for 60 year old woman
on Hairstyles for Older Women -- Hairstyles for Women Over Age 50
best hairstyle for 60 year old woman image

dreamwalke

I have long thick hair and during the summer my hair makes me miserably hot. I don't want to cut my hair, so what would help with the heat?

Answer
My hair is thick and knee length. I also have hot flashes, menopausal 60 years old, imagine how cool as a cucumber I am when it's summer!

I keep shaded under an umbrella, or walk in the shade, and do my errands when the sun had gone down.

I take a shower 2x a day, when it's 90-100+ weather. I stay indoors.

For my hair, I braid them, and keep them off my neck. I do that anyway, when I leave the house, style my hair up 7 different styles a week, takes 2-10 mins. The only times you see my hair down, is after I washed it, and air-drying, right after I brushed them smooth.

I also keep my hair up, and wear a wide brim hat, so they don't get discolored from sunburned! And protect the hair from getting tangled in the breeze.

HOW TO STYLE LONG HAIR:
Dress up an easy down day with a bow.
Try the trendy wrap-around braid with bangs.
Make your hair and accessory with a huge topknot.
Scrunch with a texturizing spray for a beach-y look.
Soften up a work blazer with a sweet side part.
Use a round brush for a full-of-body blowout.
Rough up a side pony with a rugged safari hat.
Try a classic French braid, coil to the side.
Embrace fluffy curls - the bigger, the better!
Do Duchess Catherine brown (the new blond).
Disguise grow-out bangs with a single braid.
If you dare: shaved sides are having a moment.
Do a Farrah-style flip, any face shape.
Whip up a Rapunzelesque rope braid.
Days-old hair? Do a double deck pony.
Rock an easy side braid for a weekend look. Add Wafarer-style specs and a red0hot lip. Fierce!
THINK BIG: The new blowout is all about big, bouncy volume. Start blow-drying hair with a large barrel brush, set in loose pin curls for 10 minutes, then shake out until ends are wavy.
CREATE A HALO: Braiding hair horizontally on either side of a deep side part creates a whimsical, hippie-like effect. I call it the Hunger Games style. Other magazines called it the 'goddess' look. I've seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Other magazines called it, the Goddess look. Victoria Newman on the Young & the Restless did a similar a week ago! Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12.
I'm sure NO ONE in you school have done that!

Google: Peopleâs Choice Awards Hair: Helmet Braids Dominate 1-10-13

Soft updos and silk scarves at Dolce & Gabbana. The summery hair at Dolce was anchored by beautiful printed scarves that hairstylist Guido Paulo wrapped around textured, pulled-apart updos. He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. To keep the headband from looking severe, Paulo left a few centimeters of the hairline exposed, covered the very tops of the ears with the scarf, and tied it on the side.
HOW I STYLED MY HAIR IN HS with past the shoulder length to long hair?
My hair cut was below my boobs, until I grad. from HS it went down to my waist. I have various styles for my hair, didn't have bangs then.

1. I parted them in the middle, had two baby pony tails right where the top of my ears, and they fall to the front, while the rest of my hair hang loose on the back. I also curled the ends under, using plastic curlers (when I go to sleep).

2. Other times, I braided my hair after they're washed, so they're curly for days! I have about 6 sections that was braided so the curls are tighter. In the morning, when I take the braids out, finger comb so they don't get frizzy.

3. Do the Pocahantas bun. Divide your hair vertically in 2. Coil the top section, using bobby pins. Let the other bottom half loose.

4. Add hairsticks to your bun, instead.

5. Coil the top, coil the bottom section.

6. Braid the top coil, bun it. Let the rest fall out.

7. Add hair sticks to the braided bun.

How does a weave protect natural hair?

Lost in Te

I read all the time that celebrities like Gabrielle Union wear weave to protect their own hair. But would the natural hair have to be styled along with the weave? I've never worn one, so I honestly don't know. I've seen women before who have hardly any hair around their hairline from constant weaves and braiding, so just curious how a weave can help. A lace front make sense, but not a traditional weave.

Thanks!

Answer
Weave stresses the hair, worst than wearing hair accessories. IT DOESN'T. Those giving advice? Don't KNOW much about their own hair.

HAIR WEAVES & BRAIDS: Some hairstyles, including tight braids and weaves, may increase the risk of developing an irreversible form of scarring hair loss, according to a new study in the Archives of Dermatology.
Seen predominately in African-American women, this type of hair loss, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, centers on the vertex (crown) of the scalp and spreads peripherally.
âAny style that causes too much tension and traction on the hair, such as braiding with artificial hair weaved in, can possibly lead to scarring hair loss,â says study author Angela Kyei, MD, a dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
In the study, 326 African-American women answered questionnaires about their hair-grooming methods, health status, and other demographic information. Dermatologists then performed a scalp examination to grade hair loss.
Nearly 60% of the women showed signs of advanced central hair loss with scarring. The women were also more likely to have type 2 diabetes and bacterial scalp infections, and sport hair styles associated with traction, including braids and weaves, the study showed.
âBut hair loss is permanent, meaning that we can inject steroids or creams but it won't bring your hair back, so itâs very important to seek help with dermatologists early on,â she says.

One example who just got a weave:
"okay , i got it done exactly a week ago . it was ripple deep curls . now , it's A MESS . no curls at ALL . and then i have school tomorrow , how can i fix it and make the curls come back ?"

What can I do about my employer's ban on unnatural hair color?

Eve

I've been working in an office environment for the past few years. Some of my male and female co-workers have dyed part of their hair in what my employer refers to as "unnatural" hair color: varying shades of green, pink and lavender.

My employer has now issued a ban on unnatural hair colors for all employees, giving all employees one week to comply or face immediate job termination. What can I do about my employer's ban on unnatural hair color?

Answer
Your boss is running a business, and he's asking employees to have a businesslike appearance -- or at least avoid un-businesslike appearances. Your appearance is a billboard that says, "I'm a serious adult," or "I'm juvenile." If you were running the same business, which would you prefer? If you want to be in a business where you can have green hair, tattoos, piercings, etc., you need to work for a trendy boutique or something similar.

Forget the "constitutional right" argument. Anyone can be terminated for any reason. All they have to do is give you difficult assignments with short deadlines, and you can be fired for cause.

What are those dolls that you can customize hair, eye and skin color, choose outfits, and then buy?

I saw these dolls online about a year ago, they are teenage girl dolls, very pretty and very trendy fashions. You could choose the dolls skin color, hair color and eye color, then dress her head to toe in available fashions, and preview the finished product before purchasing. Trouble is, I can't remember what they are called! Can you help?

Answer
I'm not exactly sure if they are the ones you are thinking about, but you can customize your own American Girl doll to make it look how you want to.

I am a natural redhead. My natural color is a lot like Connie Britton on Nashville. But with age comes white hair. Does anyone out there know which hair dye would be the right one for me, to get my hair color back to my natural color. I have tried a few out there, Auburn is way too dark, and usually has a pink or burgandy tone to it. Which I hate. Please help me.

Hi :)

If your hair is the same colour as Connie Britton, Then you are Strawberry Blonde :) So if your picking a colour to dye it as close as you can to yours, then go for a Strawberry Blonde coloured dye :D

I just don't know where to get them?!?!?! Help please anywhere would b great and I live in TN so places near Nashville

Answer
Non-prescription colored contacts are illegal in the state of Tennessee. Too many people had serious infections, some leading to blindness, after using them. They are not regulated, and some overseas manufactures don't care who they hurt.

How to get rid of brassiness without dying hair?

Valerie

I have naturally dirty blonde hair which I've never dyed, and I don't want to ever touch the color because I've always been really happy with it. However, I just moved to NYC and I think the water in my apartment might be funky, because my hair has been really brassy ever since I came here. I would really like to try a home remedy to get rid of it, if possible, because I don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive hair products. But any cheap-ish solutions would help.

Thanks!

Answer
Here are a few options:

1. Going after the root of the problem. Im guessing your new apartment has "hard water" in the shower, which causes the brassiness. But this can easily be fixed by visiting a store like Home Depot or Menards and asking for a hard water shower head. I heard it's relatively inexpensive too.

2. I don't know how well this works, but tea is a pretty powerful substance in a lot of aspects. People claim that it has properties that can tint the hair. I've heard stories of people pouring a cold cup of Lipton tea in their hair and sitting out in the sun for half an hour or so. It's worth a try, I suppose.

3. There's this chemical process at a salon called "toning". It's not dying, and it doesn't damage hair like dying does. It's pretty cheap, at least at the salon I work at. (My situation: got highlights done, they were waay too brassy, got hair toned, the brassiness was gone). At a Fantastic Sams salon, it costs a mere 10 dollars to get your hair toned. It's just like a colored shampoo, and takes only about 10 minutes or less. It's probably the most effective treatment, besides getting rid of the hard water in your shower.

Good luck with whatever route you take!

What salons in NYC are good to lighten by black hair to brown with highlights?

What are cute, easy hairstyles that don't take much work and you sleep in them?

Q. Ok so normally my hair is straight and that gets kinda boring. I need some cute, easy hairstyles where you dont have to go buy something like a straghtener or curler. You can just do it and sleep in it and take it out in the morning and Vwala! :)

Answer
If you have curlers, you can roll your hair at night and take the curlers out in the orning, which will give you awesome hair and its fast.

Hey all. Well I'm getting tired of not always getting the haircut I want, and it's mainly because I've been going to places like Supercuts where they basically cut your hair the way they want to. I've decided to go with a friend to his barbershop to get this same exact hairstyle. I have the same color and my oval face shape could make it look good without a problem. Here's some pictures on how I want it:

None of those haircuts were cut by a barber. They are stylist's renditions of a short regular hair cut or a long ivy league. Expertly tapered and well blended classic versions of these styles cut by a good barber more fully suit most guys. The haircuts below are how these styles appear when cut by a barber. Show the barber a photo of the style of haircut you want.

Some barbers consider that all crew cuts should have a flat top, so it is best to not rely on words alone for even a widely recognized style like a crew cut.

Search the internet for images of football(soccer)star Lukas Podolski for examples of ivy league and crew cut styles. A minute dab of control wax aka butch wax will keep the hair looking well groomed at crew cut and ivy league length. A butch comb also helps with grooming the short pomp styles- the small, flat, plastic, oval, pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar. A boar bristle military brush is usually available for a few dollars and while too large for a guy to carry in his pocket, is nice to have at home.

How can I make my hair like this?

His hair looks naturaly spikey and his bangs hangout and off to the side like that. How can I do that to my hair? What type of haircut should I get to achieve it? Any tips or advice please? Thanks.

Answer
I would definitely talk to a hair dresser.

But what is your natural hair type. Sometimes you just cant do some stuff with the hair you have. try straightening it if its thick or curly. I doubt his hair is naturally spikey. Get some gel and mess around with it. Or show a hair dresser the pic and he/she could help you

How to get ombre or dip-dye on very dark relaxed hair?

best hair color over 60 women image

Tiffany

Hi. I already asked a question about this but I forgot a couple details. Okay..

History of my hair-
When I was younger I always wore my hair natural. I am African-American and partially Native-American so my hair (in it's natural state) is coarse and SUPER THICK. My hair color is black with natural red undertones. My mom managed my hair for me and kept it pretty healthy and wanted to keep my hair natural for as long as possible. Then my mom decided it was time for me to start getting my hair relaxed. I first got it relaxed a little bit after I turned 12. I've been getting it relaxed about every 10 weeks since then. Also, I've never dyed my hair, never used any bleach or peroxide. Nope, nothing. I have went to get bangs cut a couple of times and the person who relaxes my hair cuts off the split ends of my hair every once in awhile.

Now: I'm almost 15 and my hair is slightly past shoulder-length. Right now, I'm trying to grow my hair a little longer. I use a shampoo & conditioner that does not use parabens, silicones, sulfates, alcohol, blah blah blah and it's mineral and plant based. I wash my hair once a week ( I wait 2 weeks after I relax it) and I deep condition my hair and I oil it. And I use this product chi silk infusion which I LOVE. I like my natural hair color. When I part my hair, sometimes you can see the lighter parts of my hair. Now, since I like my natural hair color for the most part and don't want to go through the trouble of my roots or anything, I only want to dye the tips of my hair. I honestly don't care if the ends of my hair turn out super bright or if they're just tinted a different color. I just want it to look a little different. Now here's what I want and don't want.

1. I don't want to have to use bleach or anything that will cause bad damage/breakage to my hair or leave it dry.
2. The dye or whatever has to be safe to use on my hair and I would prefer it to be a natural product.
3. If you EXTREMELY suggest I just leave my hair alone, please tell me.

Also, I'm going to wait until my hair is at the desired length before I do anything. Plus I am looking for great haircare tips and products in general :) Thank you!

Answer
First of all, heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. The relaxers on your head, already contains formaldehyde causing cancer. If they're dye, they're all chemicals, even Henna which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It's a good read! Google: Henna for Hair Warnings.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that look ombre hair color â darker roots, lighter ends â but colorists sees that fading. Women are wanting dimensional color with natural highlights that look like they've been playing out in the sun. On Fashion Police 1-29-13 episode, Khloe Kardashian said: "I had that in 2011!"

"Ombre is the number one poorly done color in this country! It takes a lot of blending and finesse to look natural. The key is to highlight the whole head, then deepen just the roots. Unfortunately, a lot of the ombre I see today is bad - I'm ready for that to be retired! Dye should make hair look expensive and chic. Otherwise, what's the point?" ~ Harry Josh, Hollywood's top hairstylist, who have given Gisele ombre color for 13 years.

They DO SELL OMBRE kits. They also sell hair extensions that you can clip on, comes in various colors, 2/$5 @ Claire's and take them out when you get home. They're fun, funky & safe!

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Your hair is the most fragile of all hair types. They snap & break easily. So you need more TLCs than thin hair. No chemicals. No relaxers specially! No heating styling tools. Finger comb is best or use a wide tooth comb. Do what Oprah & Michelle Obama have been, going natural, using plastic curlers to set their hair. Use oil or conditioner to keep them moisturized. Heat & chemicals are your hair's worst enemies.

The hair of many black women is very fragile and studies have demonstrated that normal brushing and combing the hair can result in breakage. Brushing your hair 100-times a day is a no-no for your hair. Only comb and brush your hair to style it. Also avoid rubber bands or other implements that can physically cut into and break the hair shaft.

Google: Rhonda Lee. Copied & pasted from her getting fired @ the KTBS station.
"I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn't grow downward. It grows upward."
"Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don't find it necessary."
"I'm very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. As women we come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty."
"Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society," the TV personality concluded.
Watch: Good Hair - Documentary by Chris Rock 2009. or Tyra Banks What is Good Hair. Black women spend 80% of all hair products. She's got good advice!
Michael âRahniâ Flowers, who served as Obamaâs hairstylist in Chicago for more than 20 years, knows full well the importance great hair plays in a womanâs lifeâand so does Michelle, he says. âSheâs always taken very good care of her hair,â Flowers explains. âHaving beautiful hair is such a sign of health and attractiveness, particularly for black women, because their hair tends to be very fragile, and it needs extra care. Having it look good at all times is an amazing feat in itself. âSheâs never been the kind of woman that obsessed over hair and makeup too much.â

How can I grow my hair but also keep it healthy?

nat?

I'm trying to grow my hair, and my layers out, but I want it to be healthy and shiny. My hair is pretty thin and about shoulder length, I want to grow it so it falls just below my boobs. I've dyed it/bleached it (I had to bleach it because I wanted to go red, my hair is really dark brown) a few times as well and it's still not healthy from that. I've since dyed it back to my natural hair colour though.

So, how can I grow it long but keep it healthy at the same time?

Answer
First and foremost, a well balanced diet is essential the your overall well-being. You NEED those vitamains and minerals included in a well balanced diet. No fads. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out a well-balanced diet is THE key to your overall health. Julia Child said it years ago, "Everything in moderation!" and it still applies today, over 50 years later. That said, washing is also key. Your hair is naturally oily, as is your entire skin. It HAS to be to remain supple. Without natural oils, your skin dries and cracks! Chapped lips are a minor example, but that is what happens in real life. WHY mankind insists on removing natural oils from the body is a mystery to me. They do it in the name of being "clean" but how can natural oils be UNclean? Every time you apply a "treatment" to change color or whatever, you remove more and more oil! This ends up in the extreme, making your hair thin, dry and brittle so it breaks, and gets split ends! AND in the worst case, you can lose ALL of your hair! The answer is to let your hair grow naturally and then minimize any treatments and use a basic shampoo, ONCE in a while, NOT every day. Your hair gets dirty NOT from the oil, but from the dirt in the atmosphere that sticks TO the oil. In the old west, all women did was use a hairbrush, which spread the natural oils throughout the hair, and THEY had NO problem. Learn a lesson from you ancestors here. Get a BIG hairbrush with ALL NATURAL fibers and USE it daily to brush your hair. Daily brushing will actually help remove some of the accumulated dirt as well as spread the oils from you scalp evenly in your hair. My mother did this, 100 brush strokes every day, and a wash once in a while and she had beautiful hair, long enough that she could sit on it. All 3 of my sisters have followed our mother's example and also have extra long, beautiful hair. none of my sisters use any hair coloring, and in their late 50's and early 60's are all mostly gray, but who cares? Their hair is completely healthy, full bodied, very LONG, and except for the color of gray, exactly what you hope to achieve.

Answer
very straight hair, a little longer than shoulder length, layered, all black hair,,just a little brown highlights, far side parted bangs(short).I've seen it before it looks really cute, and makes you look very young.

What kind of hairstyles look best for an oval-shape face?

Q. I have a short forehead. I also have very thick, fine, straight hair that tangles easily.

My hair is medium length. Right now I just have it all one length with an angle cut in the front, and I part it to the side. I don't really like the side part, but parting it down the middle looks plain. I usually just get long layers and an angle in the front, and I part it to the side... but it gets old. I want something different! I would try some side bangs, but my face is long and I have a short forehead.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Answer
Oval Shape
Egg shaped with a forehead and jaw that are the same width
The ideal face shape, because it is proportionally balanced.

Styles to try: an oval face will suit any hairstyle be it straight, wavy, curly, short, medium or long.

Styles to avoid: try to avoid wearing your hairstyle on your face as you'll lose the shape behind the hair and may also add the appearance of weight to your face.

If you have a short forehead avoid short bangs. You can get a haircut that look good straight, and also able to make it curly or wavy. To style your hair in different ways is the key to look different. Use hair accesories like headbands, hairclips, etc. Try to put your hair in a messy bun, or a half updo.

I will recommend that you visit these websites in which you can download you photo, and see yourself in different haircuts:

Whatever you decide just remember the way you style and take care of your hair is the key. Use a leave-in conditioner for your tangles. Also try this boar brush to help it to detangle, and give it more shine:

How can you do at home root touch up without leaving a weird mark in your hair?

best hair color root touch up image

Ms. Floats

If you use an at home root touch up kit, does it ever overlap the existing color and cause a weird break line or is it mostly undetectable. I don't want my hair to break off at a weak points way on top of my hair or something bizarre like that. But I want to bleach at home and maintain it with over the counter box kits. Is that a good or bad idea?

Answer
I promise it wil break. You don`t have control of where you are place color in the back of your head, or anywhere. You will over lap and it will break over time. Out of lets say 50 people I have seen maybe 1 person that actually did a pretty good job, but they more than likely have good strong hair. I strongly recommend going to a Professional. Don`t be cheap with the one thing people see first.

How to remove color to get back to natural hair color?

denimead

My hair is naturally drab gray. I just started coloring my hair at home over the last 9 months (after having it professionally done for the last 20 years). I want the end result of my hair color to be golden brown. I do not touch up roots in between hair coloring. I do an overall color. Each time I colored my hair, I chose a color that wasn't quite light enough. I'm ready for another coloring. My roots are drab gray, the rest of my hair looks like one solid light brown color. Since I have been using different shades of golden brown each time I color, should I use a hair color remover first to get back to my natural color and then do an overall color of a very light golden brown/blonde? Or just color my hair with the very light golden brown. I do not have different colors in my hair now, but mentally I feel like I do because of the 4 different times I've colored with a different color. Help!!!

Answer
yes..If youre going from darker to lighter with about 4 different colors youll definately want to remove the color. They sell a product...its a powder and you mix it with a 20 volume liquid..you can buy the powder and possibly 20 vol at Walmart...The particular powder Im thinking of is called Un-color, but the other brands work just as well...its in a packet usually on the bottom shelf. Be careful using a lot of anything on the hair or it will become "mushy" and break off, especially if heat is applied. Good luck! *I have been a professional hairdresser for 16 years*
