I am spanish and have sort of a darkish skin tone and i want a really cool punk hair style with multiple colors that would look awsome. So please give me some ideas that you might have.
Thank you.
P.S im a girl

Answer
It's not supposed to look good. It's supposed to look disgusting and shocking. That's the point. It's supposed to alienate you from every one else. It's not about being pretty and trendy or picking an edgy hairstyle that your parents won't yell at you for. You want a punk haircut? Take some clippers and just run them through your hair randomly. I sit out in the middle of the street sometimes and let strangers take swipes at it. Then die whatever is left some bright nasty loud colors. Spike it. There you go. You might stand out at the MCR concert though.

What type of hair style looks best on girls with a square face?

And what color looks best with sun tanned skin? I want a new hairstyle and I have a square face shape, tan skin and a slightly wide nose. What type of hair style and color would look best? I can upload a picture if my descriptions aren't good enough

Emma

Someone told me that the ombre hairstyles fits my personality perfectly, what do they mean? Basically what personality does the ombre hairstyle convey? Sorry this is kind of a stupid question :) thank you!

Answer
the best way to know what they meant would be to ask them. most girls I see with ombre hair think they're really fashion forward and trendy.

How long does it take for fashion to change?

M4NY

LIke before people used to have differnet kind of clothes, hairstyles and also personalities. But as fashion changes peoples personality changes also, how long does it normally take for fashion to change for example like 5 years back there wasnt that many girls/boys that used gel now everywhere you see there is bound to be gel used in hair.
So how long really will it take for fashion to change?

Thanks.

Answer
well actually its mostly the big clothes companies that change the fashion. really without even trying, but it can also be a popular person. but just make your own style... i mean it probably wont take that long for the fashion to change again. just wait a year or less!

I have a warm skin tone, which means i have golden under tone . My eyes are dark brown .What hair color would match my skin tone the best?

Answer
dark brown.
and some girls even look good with bleach blonde hair too.

How do you determine the best hair color for you based on your skin tone?

It'sa Me,

I think my hair color is a little... not very great so I'm trying to figure out the best hair color for my skin tone, and all I get is these stupid virtual picture hair things... I don't care about what a fake hairstyle looks like on my picture. I need the right color that looks best with my skin tone.

Answer
Well, maybe you're using the wrong type of virtual hairdresser.
Try seventeen.com's, because it works really well.
Or else purchase some different semi-permants or temporary dyes. They can be purchased at specialty beauty shops, like Sally's.
Temporary will just last a wash or two, and semi permanent (depending on how porous your hair is) will last about 10 washes.
Talk to your stylist about possible colors, too. They have little wig tester things that they hold up to your skin that'll get what color'll be pretty for your skin. :]

Generally, warm blondes look good on lighter skin, and the darker your skin, the darker your hair. Try getting highlights and lowlights, and using a glaze (John Freida - Walmart - $10) in your color to boost it.
It's all the rave in Seventeen, but I've used it and am personally in love with it. It keeps your red actually red, as long as you use it. :]

What is the best color(s) to wear for a job interview?

I live on the west coast and I am scheduled for some interviews what are the best colors and styles to wear? I am in mymid 30s I dont want to look matronely and dress "too old" for my age nor do I want to dress too teen ager like and overly trendy and look ridicilous? Any advice? I am a redhead with grey eyes and a large size woman but I look solid. What jewlery and accesories should I wear?

Answer
I agree with HB, dress for the type of job you are applying for. A good professional looking pair of slacks is a great addition to any wardrobe from about 20 on up. Pin-striping makes for a lovely line on the body, lengthening and trimming the leg. For a more casual low-key job interview pair a great gray pin-stripe pant with a soft blue cashmere sweater and medium high heels nothing over 3.0 really. For more up scaled job interviews pair the pin-stripe pants with a classic button down shirt and a chic jacket over the top. For your hair, in a more causal setting a low pony tail or bun, more up scale go with a nice low chignon. For make up keep it light, minimal mascara, a sweep or two of blush and a neutral lip. Jewelry, a simple necklace, nothing to long, should hit your collar bone no lower or higher. A simple watch, dainty, small faced. As for a purse, avoid slouchy hobos, messy graffiti printing, or busy attachments. A good structured yet stylish shoulder bag. Here are some links to examples of what I mean:

Answer
Now a days it seems you can wear anything. I guess shorts so short half the butt is hanging out. Skirts that short (for guys its kinda hot LOL), and a big one, LATEX!! Also if you wear see-thru clothing, boob revealing and private showing clothes you know that's unacceptable.

How has the world changed since 1966 to present day?

MiMi

I am working on a project and need some answers please. How has entertainment changed since 1966? How has shopping changed since 1966? How has education changed since 1966? How has housing changed since 1966? How have vacations changed since 1966? How have clothing and hair styles changed since 1966? How have gadgets changed since 1966? Answers to one or more questions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks SO much!

Answer
I was alive in 1966, and I must say: Everything has changed since 1966! In that year, the war in Viet Nam was escalating, and the Hippie movement was just beginning. (The year 1967 saw "The Summer of Love" in San Fransisco, particularly.) In 1966 there were no personal computers; I worked in a new hospital which was one of the first in our area to be "computerized"; the computers were huge "machines" housed in a second floor room where the temperature was rigidly coolly controlled; the hospital had central air conditioning -- almost unheard of in northern Ohio in those days. Of course all commercial items, cars, houses, and food were much much less expensive than they are today, and the availability and variety of foods were not so great as they are now. Many families lived in the "cookie cutter" housing which burgeoned in the suburbs after World War II; a fairly nice house of that sort could be purchased for $10,000 in 1966 probably. Education likewise was much less expensive at the college level. Students did not carry cell phones since they hadn't been invented! The courses offered or required in high school were not so different from those of today, although, naturally, human knowledge has increased over the years since the 1960s. Most schools had dress codes, so clothing for school was more formal than it is currently. There was no mass testing such as there is today in public schools, and there were no shootings occurring at schools in those days, so schools were generally places of security, at least in the suburbs and smaller cities, although inner city schools experienced gang-related violence and disruptions. I took some really nice vacations for very little money in those days -- for instance, a cruise from New York City to the Bahamas for about two hundred dollars -- no porthole, though! In the sixties, fashions changed drastically from the fifties; skirts became progressively shorter until the mini-skirt was the predominant fashion. After the Beatles gained world-wide popularity (1964), longer hair styles were the mode, both for males and females; as the Hippie movement accelerated, really long hair was the style -- although Hippies generally were not interested in style, per se. Marijuana and LSD were also becoming popular and mainstream (although illegal, of course) in the late sixties. Rock and Roll was the "British Invasion" with many English groups following in the wake of the Beatles. The sources for music were still radio and records, and album music was just becoming popular. Gadgets were non-electronic since nothing digital existed! Color television had just also become mainstream so that black and white TV was becoming obsolete. That is my memory of the sixties! I hope that it's useful to you!

What is an easy hairstyle for long thin hair?

trendy hairstyles for older women image

Stephii

I have very thin hair that comes to the middle of my back. I will not cut it.
What is a simple hairstyle made for my hair type?
Most styles I see don't look right since my hair is so flat

Answer
AVOID using heat & chemicals = hair's worst enemies.

HOW TO STYLE LONG HAIR:
Dress up an easy down day with a bow.
Try the trendy wrap-around braid with bangs.
Make your hair and accessory with a huge topknot.
Scrunch with a texturizing spray for a beach-y look.
Soften up a work blazer with a sweet side part.
Use a round brush for a full-of-body blowout.
Rough up a side pony with a rugged safari hat.
Try a classic French braid, coil to the side.
Embrace fluffy curls - the bigger, the better!
Do Duchess Catherine brown (the new blond).
Disguise grow-out bangs with a single braid.
If you dare: shaved sides are having a moment.
Do a Farrah-style flip, any face shape.
Whip up a Rapunzelesque rope braid.
Days-old hair? Do a double deck pony.
Rock an easy side braid for a weekend look. Add Wafarer-style specs and a red0hot lip. Fierce!
THINK BIG: The new blowout is all about big, bouncy volume. Start blow-drying hair with a large barrel brush, set in loose pin curls for 10 minutes, then shake out until ends are wavy.
CREATE A HALO: Braiding hair horizontally on either side of a deep side part creates a whimsical, hippie-like effect. I call it the Hunger Games style. Other magazines called it the 'goddess' look. I've seen them last week during Dancing with the Stars. Dayana Mendoza the Miss Universe, recently on the Apprentice had that same hairstyle, & recently Florence Welch wore her hair during the Met Gala. Google her. Took about 10 mins. to do, use bobby pins to secure the braids to your head. Other magazines called it, the Goddess look. Victoria Newman on the Young & the Restless did a similar a week ago! Kelly Osborne wore it during Fashion Police 10-8-12.
I'm sure NO ONE in you school have done that! Today, first day of spring, I added some funky flower hair clips, looking like Flower Power!

Google: Peopleâs Choice Awards Hair: Helmet Braids Dominate 1-10-13

Soft updos and silk scarves at Dolce & Gabbana. The summery hair at Dolce was anchored by beautiful printed scarves that hairstylist Guido Paulo wrapped around textured, pulled-apart updos. He started by rough-drying the models' hair with mousse before pinning it into an updo that was "not really a twist, not really a knot, just exactly how a Sicilian woman would pin her hair up," he said. To keep the headband from looking severe, Paulo left a few centimeters of the hairline exposed, covered the very tops of the ears with the scarf, and tied it on the side.
HOW I STYLED MY HAIR IN HS with past the shoulder length to long hair?
My hair cut was below my boobs, until I grad. from HS it went down to my waist. I have various styles for my hair, didn't have bangs then.

1. I parted them in the middle, had two baby pony tails right where the top of my ears, and they fall to the front, while the rest of my hair hang loose on the back. I also curled the ends under, using plastic curlers (when I go to sleep).

2. Other times, I braided my hair after they're washed, so they're curly for days! I have about 6 sections that was braided so the curls are tighter. In the morning, when I take the braids out, finger comb so they don't get frizzy.

3. Do the Pocahantas bun. Divide your hair vertically in 2. Coil the top section, using bobby pins. Let the other bottom half loose.

4. Add hairsticks to your bun, instead.

5. Coil the top, coil the bottom section.

6. Braid the top coil, bun it. Let the rest fall out.

7. Add hair sticks to the braided bun.

I can do 7 different styles per week (even now). The idea is to experiment, practice the night before, so you can easily do them by morning. Takes me 2-10 mins. to style my knee length hair. I've posted 98 on Facebook.

Need a new hairstyle but I have really thick shoulder length hair, any good ideas besides straightening?

If I want to become a male fashion model? Where do I start?

trendy hair color photos image

suhedreams

I would like to become a male model, high fashion/commercial/art etc
What should I do? Where do I start? What's the best way to start such a career? I think I have the model look, the body, and the photogenic edge. Anyone?

Answer
First of all, you'll need a portfolio. And not one full of photos taken by your friends. Go to a professional photographer who will know how to show you in the best possible light -- literally.

Your portfolio should include at least one head shot where you're looking right into the camera and at least one full-length shot, and it should contain both color and black-and-white photos. Wear fashionable clothes, but go for "timeless" over "trendy" -- plain t-shirts with jeans, plain oxford shirts with dark-colored dress pants -- styles that won't look "dated" a couple of months after the photos are taken.

You'll want at least two sets of 18-24 8"x10" photos -- one set for you to keep and the other(s) to bring with you when you visit modeling agencies, either by responding to ads or by looking them up in your local yellow pages (on- or off-line). Put them in nice (not necessarily expensive) photo albums (discount stores like Wal-Mart carry them), one photo per page. Put a printed (not handwritten) label on the inside cover with your name, contact info, and vital statistics (age, height, weight, hair color, eye color). It's a good idea to put a label on the back of each photo with just your name and phone number, too.

Another thing you can do is call or visit local art schools, and/or the art departments of any local colleges, to see if they need models (paid or volunteer). It's not glamorous work, but it will help you get used to some of the non-glamorous aspects of modeling -- long hours on your feet (or other parts of your body), holding poses, and being stared at by strangers.

Best of luck to you.

What to wear when having headshots taken?

Little_Tig

What should i wear for a photo shoot to get some nice headshots.

i am 15 years old, long wavy brown hair, blue eyes.

i was thinking of wearing jeans my chuck taylor converses and just a plainish t-shirt or top??

thanks :)

Answer
For headshots, what you wear on the bottom is irrelevant (it won't show). On top, wear a neutral-color collared shirt (polo or button-down, ideally solid black). Wearing some overly-trendy or casual top will date the photo in years to come, and most head-shots are intended to be timeless. Since the focus should be on your face, be sure not to wear too much makeup, (will almost never look good in a photo unless it was applied professionally), wear your hair down (straight or wavy, no funky styles), classy earrings are fine but avoid big dangly ones and necklaces, and generally they to stick with a classic natural look. Past that, the photographer will do the rest. If you have a big zit the day of or something, DO NOT wear gobs of concealer or foundation. It will be far easier and look much better in the end for the photographer to retouch a few blemishes than try to do something about cakey makeup.

Good luck, and remember a head shot isn't suppose to be an overly dramatic or artsy portrait. It is suppose to capture how you actually look. If you want to do some fun/artsy shots where you dress up and wear crazy makeup/hairstyles, then do an actual photoshoot where you discuss the desired results with the photographer beforehand. That way, he/she can prep to do some funky stuff. When you go in for a head shot, they expect to do a nice classic shot, and have their lighting and equiptment set up beforehand to do just that (which will look phenomenal if done by a true professional).

I have never dyed my hair, but the lady at the beauty supply store gave me "Pureology Serious color care shampoo: essential repair" and "Pureology serious color care shampoo: Hydrate"
I heard these are really good hair products .. but I don't know if I can use them? Thanks

Answer
I no nothing ABOUT YOUR HAIR to answer why you have been given that product.

Hair products, are not made of glue to FIX, PREVENT, REVERSE hair from getting damaged nor hair falls, caused by 'abuse'.

They are trillion dollar business and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss.

In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.

Don't believe the hype: "For skin care products, 'organic is not enough,. Some organic products are fabulous, and some are not." ~ Dr. Lisa Chipps , M.D. specializes in removing skin cancer & repairing the resultant wound (laser therapy whiz) in Rodeo Drive.
"Organic skin care products are trendy, but that does not mean nonorganic ones are dangerous," Wendy E. Roberts, M.D. past president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.

Something I can spray on my hair after showering that will detangle, volumize & strengthen?

Esme

I have fine hair that's not in the best shape right now, thanks to bleaching some strands & basically just being too rough with it. I just switched to 100% vegan shampoo/condit. that has no sulfates or parabans or whatever they are called in it. I'm also looking for something to spray on my hair once I get out of the shower. I want it to *detangle *strengthen & *volumize. Any ideas for something that can do all 3? Or a combination of 2 products that can do all 3? I don't want to weigh my hair down either... Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Hair products are NOT made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged, or hair loss, or make them grow . . . . they are a trillion dollar business. They also do NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals - hair's worst enemies.

For DETANGLING, a normal conditioner is all you need. You get the strength FROM ALL THE VITAMINS & MINERALS you eat everyday.

I haven't used conditioner for 16 years, we also have soft water. I also have stopped using chemicals. Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. When traveling, I briefly rinse with bottled water. Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

Relaxers contain formaldehyde causing cancer.

NEVER brush or comb your hair when they're wet! I brush mine when they're 95% dried. Blow-dry for 5 mins. or less. If you're drying your hair longer, you're not only stressing your hair but your hair dryer, too!

I do tend to like my hair on the long side than short, but i am willing to cut it short if i think a hairstyle will look good. could anyone help me?

I'm wanting to get a new hairstyle for 2013. I'm bored of having longish/bieber hair. I have a young looking face, i look about 15-16 but i'm actually 18. I don't know if an 18 year old should have bieber hair. It's mostly for 13 year olds i heard. So i want to know any hair styles that most 18 year old guys have and is nice and mature. As i said, i do look about 15, so what hairstyle make you look older?

Answer
Google hairstyles of Brad Pitt when he was 18.

Bieber copied hairstyles of my 70's exBF.

What hairstyles are these and how can I tell my barber to cut my hair like these?

DatGerman

Hey all. Well I'm getting tired of not always getting the haircut I want, and it's mainly because I've been going to places like Supercuts where they basically cut your hair the way they want to. I've decided to go with a friend to his barbershop to get this same exact hairstyle. I have the same color and my oval face shape could make it look good without a problem. Here's some pictures on how I want it:

Answer
None of those haircuts were cut by a barber. They are stylist's renditions of a short regular hair cut or a long ivy league. Expertly tapered and well blended classic versions of these styles cut by a good barber more fully suit most guys. The haircuts below are how these styles appear when cut by a barber. Show the barber a photo of the style of haircut you want.

short crew cut:
http://www.gstatic.com/hostedimg/dfbf10e504bce8a1_large
Some barbers consider that all crew cuts should have a flat top, so it is best to not rely on words alone for even a widely recognized style like a crew cut.
flat top crew cut:

ttp://oi50.tinypic.com/2v33tok.jpg
Search the internet for images of football(soccer)star Lukas Podolski for examples of ivy league and crew cut styles. A minute dab of control wax aka butch wax will keep the hair looking well groomed at crew cut and ivy league length. A butch comb also helps with grooming the short pomp styles- the small, flat, plastic, oval, pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar. A boar bristle military brush is usually available for a few dollars and while too large for a guy to carry in his pocket, is nice to have at home.

Can anyone tell me what the best store bought hair colour is for covering grey hair?

best hair color for gray hair
 on gray hair image
best hair color for gray hair image

Chewie

I'm only 27, but because I took after my dad, I started to get grey hair at a young age (a few here and there).

I find that most hair colour doesn't cover grey hair for very long.

Answer
First to clear up one fact is that your hair doesn't turn Grey. It starts losing color pigmentation. When that happens the individual hair will become flatter in circumference. Each color inside a hair has different size color molecules. When you add color, the molecules in that color will attach itself to the one inside the hair. Gray lacking in molecules, has no ability to hold onto the color molecules, permanently. You can help it by adding a filler first. You can get a clear filler and apply it first to dry hair and let it dry. Then add the color. You can get a bottle of filler from your favorite beauty salon, or have them apply it the day before you color. The filler has a different molecule structure that will grab hold of the gray, and then the color molecules will attach to the them, giving more holding power. Not sure which color is best to buy. That depends on if your going for ease, price, or both. Try them and see what works best for you. Good Luck

What is the best hair color brand to cover grey hair?

pam e

I just turned 47 this year and cannot seem to find a brand of hair color that covers grey. I have dark brown hair and I was really happy with Natural Instincts. But it does not seem to cover the grey. The last brand I used was ION from Sally's. I am also concerned with the amount of damage certain brands cause. Any ideas out there?

Answer
If you are concerned with protecting your hair while getting the best grey protection, you can use an ammonia free hair color line. Herbatint is a great Italian hair color a little pricey but personally I think its much better than the grocery brands. http://www.thebeautycenter.com/brand/herbatint

I had an interview at ulta and am having another interview at sephora, which should i choose?

Kayla

I want to know which is a better company to work for, also it is a sephora inside JCP if that makes a difference. All of the girls at both places seem really nice. I want to become a make up artist, which one has better opportunities? better training? more room to move up within the company? more training and gratis? I have heard sephora pays a little more. please help this is a hard decision!

Answer
Below are employee reviews from Sephora and Ulta, pros and cons, then you make the decision.

âGreat Company to Work Forâ Product Consultant (Former Employee) Lakeland, FL
I worked at Sephora part-time for more than a year
Pros â Gratis, Fun work environment, Great Training, Not too stressful
Cons â Retail hours, push to sell JCP credit cards.

Cast Member (Current Employee) Denver, CO I have working Sephora part-time for less than a year
Pros âPros â
Great benefits for part time and full time employees, flexible shifts
1.Values based company(work life balance, teamwork, passion for clients, initiative, etc)
2. Gratis
3. Company invests thousands of dollars in your development( training that includes airfare, meal and hotel accommodations if traveling)
4. Fun environment where the majority of fellow teammates are very vested in sephora's culture.
5. Lot's of growth potential from leadership, educator roles, and PRO Team.
6. You don't have to be licensed to work at Sephora as long as you are passionate about learning! You learn so much from experience and client interactions! There is NO WAY that as a makeup artist in school that you would have the opportunity to work on 60+ faces a day! Plus with different skin tones, concerns, shapes, etc.
7. Perfect for product junkies that just want to play with new products, experiment with colors, and SECRETLY shop while working on clients........ all day long! ;)
8. NON COMMISSION based. Team goals and bonuses. Monthly sales bonus and quarterly service bonuses. The highest level in sales bonus is like 25% of your gross monthly income!
Pros â Decent pay, lots of job perks including free product, overall fun work. Excellent training provided, and cash bonuses.
Cons â Very strict policies and procedures, little schedule flexibility- work on Holidays. weekends, etc. Difficult to advance quickly or transfer over to corporate side. Can be competitive among employees at times.

I worked at Ulta Beauty part-time for less than a year
Pros â You receive a nice discount on the high end beauty and skin care products. This also includes discounts for the hair salon, facials and the brow bar for locations that have these services.
Cons â Extremely poor pay, as well as not enough hours. Only the managers have full time hours so there is no opportunity for employee benefits unless you are full time.
When it is the end of your shift you could stand around for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for the manager to check your bag so you could leave the premises.

Pros â Training on products, good staff
Cons â Long Hours and Working Holidays
Pros â 25% employee discount
Benefits are great for young adults 18+
Great selection of makeup basically it's a one stop shop because they have high end products, drug store products, fragrance, a salon, nail products, hair products, pretty much everything and more
Cons â Hours can be poor and there's a lot of responsibility and rules you must follow by.
Pros â They have flexible hours if you are going to school. The discount is good.
Cons â Hours are dependent on how much store merchandise is sold for the week. This could be a good thing and a very bad thing at the same time.
Pros â Working with makeup, and gratis!
Cons: Nobody in the beauty industry cares about Ulta because they do not train and create make up artists there, and no one cares that you have worked with a bunch of products found at Walmart or Target.Maybe it is just my store, but I know that this store has been like that for years and the fact that none of the higher-ups have ever done anything about any of this says a lot about the company.

Has anyone ever been to an Aveda school salon?

liz_petal

The one I might go to is in Denver but I'd like to know experience anywhere. I'm on a budget and I want highlights/cut/style. I love Aveda products and it says they have consultants but I'm wondering if it might still be a bad student doing hair experience like a few other places I've been. Help!

Answer
Aveda schools are just like any other. Going there for a service is chancy - keep in mind that they are all still learning. You may get lucky and be with someone who has lots of experience in home haircutting and coloring, but you don't get to choose who takes you. I work at a salon and one of our clients was short on cash and decided to go to the Aveda school here in Chicago. She had her hair colored (all one color) and cut. She came to us that same day practically crying because her haircut was just hideous. Yet, her color was fine. The color formulations are done by instructors, so all over color is less risky. Highlighting requires skill in the application, so if you're afraid of looking stripy or having bleed marks - you'd be better off going to a slightly more expensive salon (at least they're licensed and have more experience). Good luck!

You will still learn a lot starting at 11. I love ballet and you should definitely take it too. You might be in classes with younger girls at first, depending on the school you go to, but don't let that bring you down. As far as preparing for the classes, it won't hurt to start stretching a little bit everyday. Just sit in a strattle and stretch out the hamstrings of each of you legs. You'll also need ballet shoes, tights and a leotard which can be found at any dance store. It is very important to get the right size shoe with the elastic and everything. Some schools are very particular about what color and even brand of leotard/tights you have so you'll want to find all that out before you start. You'll also need to wear your hair in a bun so you might start experimenting with that. I usually use a small hair colored hair net and bobby pins. I hope this helped and good luck with ballet!

Why are a lot of teenagers so easily influenced by the media and trends?

Hypnotizia

NOT all teens. I said A Lot. I see it, I go to high school.

Answer
The media targets the youth because teenagers are some of the biggest consumers in the market. The media is also the barometer for what is important in pop culture.Teenagers are constantly changing their mind, they want to go with what is popular, pop culture. For example if a popular young actress like Vanessa Hudgens or singer like Rihanna, Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus are wearing a certain jacket, outfit etc. girls will go out and buy that jacket (or something that looks similar because most of the clothes that stars wear are custom made, and designer which means very expensive. Trends are generational too, each trend defines a generation, what was going on in the world at that time. For example in the mid 1960's people wore bell bottoms, flowers in their hair, the hippie look, the whole 'peace and love thing'.The 1980's Reaganomics came into play (the 80's excess, yuppies) teenagers dressed up like Madonna, bright colors, big shoulder pads, big hair, the 1990's (Bush Sr. was President, start of Iraq War (Desert Storm, Saddam Hussein, oil fields in Kuwait) was the start of Grunge, alternative music, generation X, Kurt Cobain inspired flannel, messy hair for guys, Doc Martins, by 2000's ( Microsoft, internet growing popularity, emailing, texting, reality t.v. anyone can get famous (YouTube) twitter, facebook etc. 9/11, increased access to private information) it was a a move back to the 70's look, today it's a mixture of 80's,90's,40's and 50's. Teenagers (most) want to be a part of trends because it allows them to share in what other teenagers around the world are doing, plus their friends are on facebook, twitter etc, they want to communicate with their friends. Whether it's a good way (letting teenagers know about the effects of the environment) or a bad way photoshopping these so called perfect skinny models on magazine covers so teenage girls feel the unrealistic expectation to look like these models) the media influences teens in one way or another.
