My natural hair color is very light brown, some people even call it blonde. But my eyebrows are dark brown. It's not so bad in the winter but in the summer I constantly have people asking me if I dye my hair, and I don't. If I get them bleached, does that last forever, or do I have to keep doing it? I've read that you should tweeze them, but my eyebrows are kind of thick and pronounced. And I do NOT want to dye my hair to match them. I just want to know how to lighten them without making me look ridiculous or spending a ton of money. Help please?

Answer
Unless you're born with MATCHING EYEBROWS & LASHES with your hair color, you don't.

Myth 7: Dye your eyebrows to match your hair color.
False: â Your hair color and eyebrows should not be a perfect match. A slight contrast is good,â says Warren, makeup artist to the stars. To lighten up your brows and fill them in for a natural look, use a brow pencil or powder one shade lighter than your hair color.

Never dye your eyebrows or eyelashes. This can hurt your eyes. You might even go blind. FDA does not allow using hair dyes on eyelashes and eyebrows.

That's why someone invented eyebrow pencils. If you want to change the color of your eyebrows, shave them, then line them with eyebrow pencils. Google celebrities with different color hair and see what eyebrow colors they have. Google Lady Gaga and check out what color eyebrows she's got with her so many wig changes. Have you seen Miley's eyebrows? She's now blonde!
Google: Anne Hathaway blonde hair. See what color her eyebrows are.

Example from one salon to a client: "i have been a beauty therapist for 8 years and have never experienced a client react to an eyelash tint..
The client came in to have her hair done and while she was having this done asked about the eyelash tint.. she told me that she had a reaction in the past when she had it done so i gave her a patch test. about 40 Min's later she said that by now she would have reacted to it and said she would like to go with it and have it done.. so taking her world for it i done the tint she then asked for her eyebrows too..
this was on a saturday, monday morning i got a phone call from my boss saying i had to come in as the client had a reaction anyway when i got there i was a bit shaken as i didn't know what to expect the client was very sore.. she then said that she didn't want to take further action and that she just wanted me to know to be more careful for next time :s . . . . i think I'm going to give up my job too as my confidence has gone down the drain :( "

Watch Mirror Mirror - observe Lily Collin's eyebrows, that had become her trademark. Glamour magazine in Sept. 2012 issue was focused on her, by guest editor, Victoria Beckham. Lily is a model, English & British actress & TV personality. She's 23.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

Does your hair texture change as you get older?

Girl

I've noticed that alot of older women (40's & 50's) have hair that looks really hard and crispy and fried. Like their hair just doesn't feel soft at all, it just feels so hard and it doesn't move. Helmet hair basically.

Is it because they are using hair spray or is it because of their age?

Answer
Not exactly. It may dry out a little bit. And gray hair does have a slightly coarser texture than natural colored hair. This is because the older you get, the more dried out your skin will be. If you have dry skin you typically also have dry hair. So because your skin is not producing those oils like it did when you were younger, your hair is suffering from lack of natural oils.

Their hair probably looks crispy and fried because of what they're doing to it. My mom is 51 and her hair is gorgeous and silky. She colors it at home herself with a semi-permanent hair color at the most once a year. My mother-in-law, 55 years old on the other hand, changes her hair color...and I'm not joking about this, every 3 weeks with permanent dye...I'm really surprised it hasn't fallen out. And it's condition is so bad. Dry, frizzy. It looks very unhealthy.

If you take care of your hair it will not look bad when you're older. Of course, all you'd have to do if it did look that bad is hold off on the products until it all grew out.
