I feel like men, ESPECIALLY black men have been brainwashed with "white beauty" and have formed these crazy obsessions with lighter skinned women.
I am becoming more, and more convinced that a black man will choose a basic light skinned girl ANYDAY over a fine dark skinned one.
So why do most men think that the ideal women should have light skin, light eyes, long hair, and slender and curvy? Is it really a preference or the result of brainwashing?
Now be honest guys, would you choose to date a light skinned girl who rated like a 6, or a dark skinned girl who rates a 7?

Some black men have been conditioned to like light skinned women over dark skinned women because of today's media. It wasn't like this back in the 50s through 90s. It happened when the image of a black women changed to having multiple features of both Eurocentric and Afrocentric features (Halle Berry)
It just so happened that women with these features were either biracial or light skinned. Thus people made the assumption that the only women with Eurocentric and Afrocentric features are biracial and light skinned black women. Those women were then stigmatized as exotic and having a beauty beyond comparison.
The music industry played a vital role in this as well because they are publicly showing this. Not only are they selling their music which may be good or bad, they are selling an image.

---Image of whats good looking (yellow bone red bone)
That further conditioned black men to admiring light skinned and lighter women.
Personally, this is exactly why I bashed and blame the media for most things. The people that show these things are doing it for marketing reasons and personal reasons. They might not realize that what they are doing is affecting the youth. Ideas get passed down so if we all grow up believing one thing, we're likely to pass that idea down to our kids.
Lastly, I tend to rebel against the image the media portray of people, and the message they are persuading people to believe.

The media claims that women of that color is unattractive, all I say is less competition for me.
So I would date a dark skinned girl who is a 7, without regrets or hesitation :)
BUT do not get me wrong. I date people who meet my standards of having a good personality, not having a good skin color.
As long as we click positively, I like her. If she got dark chocolate skin, that is a plus.

I'm young, attractive, and successful, but I'm never approached by women or hit on by them when I'm in public. What am I doing wrong? I don't have low self esteem but this definitely doesn't help my ego.

Okay these are some five steps i have prepared for you from my experience as a woman. You complete these 5 steps and by the end of the month you will see yourself running away from all the girls out there.
1- STYLE : I am not going to lie. Looks are important to women. Wear clothes that will get you noticed and get you compliments. Such as white collared shirts ( always open the buttons to your chest) , simple t-shirts with a bright color or cheesy words that will get you noticed, belts over the shirt or chemise your wearing give you a sexy image, neat dark jeans, some sunglasses over your head with a necklace...etc. Make sure the shirts are a little tight so they can fit you and give you a buff composure. So all in all your style should be natural and sexy at the same time.
2- HAIR : The attractive women in our society prefer a modern man who is clean cut, usually shaven and has a trendy hair cut.However don't cut your hair too much, leave it slightly tall so that you can fluff it up or change styles whenever you want. If its curly try straightening it, if its straight try messing it.
3- FACIAL EXPRESSIONS : Have an animated smile on your face all the time. A modern man who attracts women naturally has no reason to look gloomy or angry, so smile. Furthermore, when you smile, people will be drawn to you and it is an excellent way to start a conversation when out and about meeting women. If you saw a woman smiling and another one all gloomy which one will catch your eyes first? see...the smiling one.
4- BODY : Gym! Work out and get a gym membership. Even if you already have a nice body its even better to have packs. Women lovee a guy with a nice body and sexy abs or packs.
Tan ! Tanning can be a great way to get that natural golden look and healthy glow . Pimples! Also if you have any face pimples (woman hate them) make sure to apply a cream on them from any pharmacy.
5- BODY LANGUAGE : Pay attention to your body language Stand up straight (donât slouch), walk slowly and with confidence. Head high ( not moving right and left like a desperate dude) and move your shoulders forward backward while walking. Body language itself will tell others that you are confident without saying you are. Act like you are used to attention and women, act like a showoff. YES a showoff. Woman will see how hard to get you seem and how confident you are. That way you are the challenge.
6- SOCIALLY : So after you have been physically and personally prepared its time for you to approach the women. The guy is always the one to approach a woman. Go to a club with some guy friends spot a cute girl ask her for a dance, go to parties gatherings, group hangouts. With the 5 steps completed above you will confidentially approach any woman. some staring smiling then talking asking for her number etc... Be slim and try not to act desperate.
