Whatever she likes and feels most confident in! The idea that only certain lengths or styles are appropriate for older women and everything else is wrong is fast becoming a thing of the past. 50 year olds have been rejecting traditions and assumptions about age and appropriateness all their lives and quite frankly, why should they stop now? Ten years ago they were the first 40 year-olds who rejected the term "middle aged" and refused to replace their jeans, long hair and sleeveless tops with polyester stretch pants, short hair and sleeved shirts. 20 years ago they refused to buy into the notion that once yo turn 30 the best years of fashion and beauty were over and it was time to discard the mascara and dress like a frump. And when they were in their teens and 20 they rejected the idea that certain things were women's work and went out and got careers that when they were kids were considered suitable for men only and paved the way for today's women to follow whatever dreams they have and tore down all the barriers for future generations of women. So don't tell her she needs to get her hair cut, that her color is wrong or anything else!

Hairstyles for thick poofy hair?

Its brown, wavy, thick and poofy and I would say middle back/bottom of boob length.
Just looking for hairstyles (pics please) on how I can make this mess of a head look decent. btw my age is 18 so please nothing for a 50 year old women.

Your hair is envy from us stick straight haired girls! If you know how to care for your hair type, you won't have this problem. Melina Kanakaredes is an example who has hair like yours and she's got beautiful wavy hair.
Towel dry, scrunch with gel like Samy, blow-dry using a diffuser briefly, toussle the hair, finger comb, shake your head & you're good to go.
One method to make it look fuller, add body, bouncier, thicker is to set your hair with plastic curlers, you'll end up with uniform balance of curls. Blow dry while curling them in curlers. Take them out, and finger comb to style. Used by the best hair color models, and the fashion industry, like Victoria Secret Fashion Show Dec. 2009, America's Next Top Models and continued to be used today where salons care about pampering your hair. When you see hair on TV a hair color commercial, they're not done by curling or straightening tools. Hair that shines like that and feels like hair, not hay, has to be done by the best hair tools available w/out damaging to the hair. When you take the curlers out, finger comb to style or lightly brush. Tousle the hair up. or shake your hair. You can use large, medium or small curlers, that depends on the length of your hair.

The hair industry is a billion dollar business, their aim is to make tons of profits, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss. Shampoo is meant to clean (Google it), and if they do other things like GROW, they're lying. It's all about marketing to attract more buyers.
BTW: There are many 20-30 year olds who are Victoria Secret models and America's Next Top Models.
If you want to look younger than 18, let your hair grow. Short hair makes you older, like all the women at the senior center, all have clone short hairs.

I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.
