What colour hair is best suited to olive skin? 10 EASY POINTS?

Amy

I have olive skin and i have very dark brown hair at the moment. I really want lighter hair but im not quite sure what colour to go for. I dont want blonde hair, but i do want a light shade. Thank you for your help :) amy x

Answer
As a rule, dark hair colors suit olive skin tones best, regardless of whether your skin tone is cool or warm, so consider black, medium brown, darker blonde hair shades and dark reds as potential hair colors for you.

Going two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color will give you the most flattering finish. For example, if your hair is naturally black then a brown or dark brown hair color is a great option to try.

A warm hair color will pick up the golden, yellow undertones of your olive complexion and enhance them. You, being a brunette, could go with shades of golden brown, mocha brown, chestnut, auburn or a caramel color.

how come i suit lighter hair colours although i am light/medium olive skinned?

i have naturally black hair, yet i dye my hair alot and lighter colours seem to look much better than darker colours.

i am 'light-medium olive skinned' ; skin looks somewhat tanned

anyway most people tend to suit hair colors closer to their skin color yet i dont, why is this?

Answer
Its not really the skin color that counts.
Its what we have, like I have cool skin.
To find out what you have try dressing in gold or silver. If you match with the gold you are a warm skin which makes you match with red, blonde warm browns type of thing, and possibly pink.
If you match with silver, then you match with black dark brown purple blue hair.

I match with both. My hair was blue last year with purple streaks and now I have red hair with brown streaks.
