Good hairstyle for 17yr old guy with thin fine hair?

Matterz

Hello, my hair is starting to get longer than I like. For as long as i can remember I just buzz my hair around this point and let it grow out again. This time I'm wanting to actually do something with my hair but i have no idea what will look good or not. I have a high hairline and fine hair. Any suggestions? (pic is the most recent of me) Thanks for any advice!

Answer
Your hair looks more medium/thick in the photo than fine. Try a regular taper cut with around three inches on top. If you want to go shorter, go with an ivy league(long crew cut.) Shorter still, go for progressively shorter crew cuts.

Some barbers describe an ivy league as a crew cut just long enough to be parted and combed to the side, if so desired. An ivy league can also be worn with the hair brushed up off the forehead to form a short pomp front, or with the short bangs brushed down on the forehead like a forward brush cut.

Grooming any of the short pomp(pompadour) styles- crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- is basically the same and takes about a minute or two.
1) Towel dry hair.
2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
3)Transfer wax to palms.
4) Smooth palms over hair.
5)Brush hair off forehead to form short pomp front.
Whichever style you decide on, be sure to take a photo to help describe the desired haircut to the barber. If you need more photos of any of the styles discussed above let me know.
Good Luck!

What is the best hairstyle for fine limp straight hair?

ok....so im like 14 yrs old, and i was thinking of getting a long shag or medium shag. But I wasn't sure which one to get, because im not really sure what they both look like just by reading descriptions and I'm afraid to try because my hair is really really thin and straght (im a korean ^^).... as in really really REALLY thin >ã<
right now, i have side bangs, which im going to keep, and my longest bottom layer hair comes to about 1 inch under my armpits cuz i layered it a bit kinda long ago and it grew >~<
so my question is, what king of shag hairstyle should i get...? i dont wanna really get a emo looking hairstyle (does the long shag look like those? can u guys add pictures of long and medium shags if u can?) but i want layered so my bottom layer shows cuz i might wanna mink it ^^
oh....and btw, can u guys help me on what to tell my hair stylist cuz shes korean and i dont think she would know what im talking about if i just said i wanted a medium or long shag....thx~! XD
and i noticed that my jawline has started growing angular so my face kinda looks square now... :[ if that changes anything ^^
oopsies~ one more thing... u guys can tell my different hairstyles other than shag too ^^

Answer
Don't get a shaggy haircut! It looks good if you have thicker hair with more volume. It's easier to take care of but your hair ends up looking more thinner than it is. Trust me, I've been there, done that. Since your hair is thin, I'd suggest a really light layer, and cut your hair shorter to your shoulder. It'll give the illusion of heaving more thicker hair. Heavy layers looks good if you have really long hair and if you add a little wave to it using curling irons, straighteners, or digital perm.

=3, usually korean hairdressers cut off an inch more than what you want so I suggest you find a picture of what you want your hair to look like and bring it with you :)
If you have a more squareish face, don't get full on bangs (like a bowl cut) because it'll emphasize your face shape.
Good luck with your hair cut~
