i was wondering what are cute 50-60's hairstyles for a party that i have to go to?

i have long hair f.y.i.
its also havanna nights theme too

Answer
For the younger women, pony tails were very big in the fifties. Also, a short cut called a duck's *ss came in style around 1960 or so. In the early sixties, long straight hair became popular for women (think folk music). As for older women (that is, married women), tightly curled hair ruled in the fifties, but became less tightly curled in the sixties. Perms were very big in the fifties.

If you have your choice between the fifties and sixties, go for the sixties and wear your hair long and straight with some flowers in it -- hippy style, like a little crown of flowers or one stuck behind your ear. Then wear a peasant style dress, a kaftan, or something else long and flowing -- or else tie-dyed.

older women do you remember hairstyles in the 60's and 70's?

I remember my gran, mum and aunts and other women in the estate i lived in having their hair in rollers all the time,
and also my mum setting my hair at night before i went to bed so that my hair would be curly the next day.

What are your memories of that era

Answer
I think we forget (on purpose) cause the Moms and Grandmas used to embarrass us when they made us go out in public with them with those dang rollers in their hair
