i have short dark ginger/hazel hair.
ive used gel and wax for ages now and i wanna have a good style that suits me, i want to know what is the best gel / wax out there such as goldwell and pinoline but is there any more ?
The main help i need is how to style my hair basically.

It would help to know what style you are referring to by "short." I take "short" to mean a crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), butch cut, brush cut, flat top crew cut, or forward brush cut. If you are wearing one of the short pomp styles-crew cut, ivy league, flat top crew cut- and the hair on the top of the head is correctly graduated in length to form the short pomp front, styling is a simple matter. A butch cut or brush cut are styled the same but can be more difficult to groom as the hair on the top of the head is not graduated in length and can require more wax.
1) Towel dry hair.
2) Barely dip fingertips in jar of wax.
3) Transfer wax on to palms.
4) Smooth palms over hair.
5) Brush hair up off forehead to form short pomp front.
6) For a forward brush cut, brush hair forward rather than back off off forehead.
For a longer style such as a regular taper cut, I don't use wax or gel but just comb it so it air dries or blow dry it and then give a few short quick pumps of a super hold spritz to the hair near the front hairline that might fall on to the forehead.
