what colour would suit my skin tone, eyes & hair colour ?

live, laug

I live in Australia and in a few months we have a semi-formal and I was just wondering what colour would suit me best if I have naturally pale skin (not very pale though) blue eyes, and medium brown hair ?

I really need a colour what my dress is going to be :) thankyou soo much !

Answer
if your eyes are a lighter blue then go for a blue dress that matches your eye color or slightly darker. itll bring out the color in your eyes.

if you have dark blue eyes then go for either a light colored dress or a dark, no medium tones. the darker dress will compliant your hair and skin better in my opinion. although if you find a nice light colored one it can, but be careful because they can make you look paler.

take into account your favorite colors and personality. you may also get to the store and have a color all picked out but find that none of the dresses in that color are something you like. its good to have an idea but dont limit yourself to just dresses in the color you choose. hope your dress shopping goes well =)

Is skin tone dominant/recessive like eye/hair color is?

I was just wondering if skin tone is like brown (dominant) and blue eye (recessive.)

I'm talking if a black man marries a white woman, I'm talking like for example, my parents are nationality; however, my mother is noticeably lighter than my dad is.

Is dark skin tone dominant? and light skin tone recessive?

Thanks

Answer
Skin tone is affected by multiple genes, and not just one. Also, various envoironmental factors affect skin tone. If you live in a warmer area for a majority of your life, your skin will be darker.
color is determined by the amount and type of melanin, the pigment in the skin. Variation in skin color is largely due to genetics. As a general pattern people with ancestors from tropical regions
have darker skin than people with ancestors from subtropical regions. This is far from a hard and fast rule however, because many light skinned groups have managed to survive at the equator by way of social adaptation. The same can be said of dark skinned groups living at subtropical latitudes

Melanin comes in two types: pheomelanin (red) and eumelanin (very dark brown). Both amount and type are determined by four to six genes which operate under incomplete dominance. (which means that the offspring will be a mix of both parents) One copy of each of those genes is inherited from each parent. Each gene comes in several alleles, resulting in the great variety of different skin tones.

Dark skin (melanin) protects against ultraviolet light; this light causes mutations in skin cells, which in turn may cause skin cancers. Light-skinned persons have about a tenfold greater risk of dying from skin cancer under equal sunlight exposure, with redheads having the greatest risk. Furthermore, dark skin prevents radiation of UV-A rays from destroying the essential folic acid, derived from B vitamins. Folic acid (or folate) is needed for the synthesis of DNA in dividing cells and folate deficiency in pregnant women are associated with birth defects.

Differences in skin tone are the most readily perceptible phenotypical distinction of human populations, and hence has historically lent itself to color terminology for race, often to the effect of darker skin being seen as being of lowest social value, and lighter skin of highest. So some people tend to want lighter skin
