I have dark brown hair with alot of gray through it, but the stuff I use from the store doesn't cover all my gray and I even leave it on the longest time suggested in the directions. 10Points!!!!

Box colors are all about the same and give the same result. You may have to change and use professional colors. These are just as easy to use as box colors. If you use one bottle of color that would be 2 oz. mix in with 2 oz of 20 volume developer, you will have 4 oz of color. Apply the same way. If you need 2 bottles of color then use 4 oz of developer giving you 8 oz of color. There are some beauty supply stores that will sell to the public.

Can you recommend good hair dye brand for long term use that doesn't cause allergies or cancer?

My mom dyes her grey hair every 2 months, she ends up with redness all over her neck and any spot that comes in contact with her hair dye. Are there any safe hair dye products out there?
Answer
your mother is allergic to hair dye. Usually, this does not happen. Most hair color is safe to use, but to be sure, you should perform a spot test behind your ear. By this, I mean take a small sample of the hair color on a cotton ball and apply behind your ear. If you dont have an allergy to it, you should be fine to use the product. If your having it done at a salon, you can go in for a spot test. They wont mind. You could very well be senitive to the color since your mom is, so i reccomend it. As for cancer, it has NOT EVER been proven to cause cancer, unless you drink 40 bottles a day for a year. That is the only way a researcher has ever proved that haircolor causes cancer. Good luck with your color!!
