What haircuts would make thin, long hair appear thicker?

I've always wanted a stacked haircut because I think they're adorable. Here's my problem however.. I have long, thin hair :( The length is perfect but it's so fine that I think it's gross & am self conscience about it. I'm hoping & wondering, if I cut it to maybe a couple inches past shoulder length, & stack it, would it appear thicker? I haven't had short/med hair in years but it grows back so whatever.
Here is a description of my appearance so maybe it'll help with answering.
I'm 5'7 (does short hair look good on tall ish girls?)
I'm long & lanky. Small boobs & booty.
I have medium brown hair with grown out blonde highlights so basically ombré colors. (I'm not changing my color, I likey)
I'm tan ish. Dark features.
I have hazel eyes or dark green.
My face shape is oval with high cheek bones & a sharp jawline.
Back to my current thin hair. It's not so thin that I almost don't have hair, but its just so fine. I wear it wavy all the time to make it appear thicker.
I'd really like a medium stacked cut but I'm afraid to put layers in it because that's taking more hair out :/ I want to be able to straighten it more & tease it without it looking thin & gross. I know there are root sprays & products to make it thicker but that doesn't help with the length of the hair looking thick.. Is there any celebs that you can think of with a hairstyle like I'm wanting so I can see?

stacked haircuts don't really work on thin hair. the best cut for thin hair is a one length. lobs (long bobs) are super hot right now and would be perfect for your hair type. here are some pics:
