I have really thin, fine hair and can never do any of the hair styles my friends with thick hair can do... Any ideas?

Answer
Curl, straighten, scrunch (gives volume), half up half down (braid), poof, twist.

What is a good haircut for someone with low density fine hair and a prominent nose?

I've read that the best way to go for low density fine hair is short, as long fine hair tends to fall flat and attempting to put volume into it will result in showing the scalp. However, short hair would highlight the prominent nose... In case it helps to know, face shape is oval and eyes are small and wide set. So, what's the best approach?
You'd think I might have thought of mentioning it earlier... I'm a woman.

Answer
It may fall flat due to volumising products only if it's too long in some areas. The shorter the better in the thinnest spots, with alternating longer pieces around the face and crown..all pushed toward the front in a piece-y manner with a medium firm holding product.. (generally speaking)

Hair that is layered contributes an element of softness to all facial features, including pronounced features such as chin or nose. Layers can also present a visual distraction that will draw an onlooker's eye and prevent it from lingering on an un-favorite feature. Soft waves and curls make good additions because they offer volume while balancing overly prominent facial features.

Drawing the hair back from the face will make the nose stand out and appear more obvious, especially from the profile. Taking steps to sweep hair forward instead can serve to minimise a prominent feature. The hair should not be arranged in a sleek, tight ponytail -- (or slicked back) this will leave the features exposed. In fact, any sleek or straight elements tend to over-emphasise the nose. A fluffy look is preferable.

Really short but extremely cute and great for very thin hair (the cut will make it appear to be much thicker) and the layers will work to deemphasise the nose:

A style that requires puffing more hair toward the cheeks should be considered as a general rule in drawing attention away from a prominent feature. Styles that require fringes are also good options, but make sure the fringe is a proper size, length and thickness. Bangs that fully cover the forehead or eyes should be avoided. Flat hairstyles should be avoided because they tend to emphasize the nose.

Sparse and dense (thin) hair can be made to appear much thicker by way of a good cut, highlights or lowlights and/or using texturizing products that thicken and volumise the hair. I don't know if you're male or female from the question but that would be an important detail to edit-in with..since there are some things that a female could easily do with her hair that may not be as easy to pull of for a male.

Highlights and lowlights (as an example). It isn't that guys don't colour their hair but as far as colour-weaving and highlights.. it's best for women VS. men.

Including photo links of haircuts, etc. is difficult when it isn't clear if you're a guy or a girl. Job one is editing-in with your gender, please.
