I am looking into getting hair extensions for my hair and i cant decide what to get whether to get real human hair or synthetic! I dont want to spend anymore than $200 but i would rather pay $100 i am probably going to get them from Hairhouse warehouse does anyone know how much they are. I have hair a little past my shoulders and have always wanted long hair!! So if anyone could give me some advise that would be great thanks!!

Answer
Best answer is to call Customer Service @ Hairhouse warehouse.

Buy one that's 2/$5 from Claire's and practice on that before investing one that's $60 - $600. You can also find hair extensions from LUX or REMY 100% hair, @ your neighborhood Goodwill store, $5.99 if you're lucky STILL in its package, 24" long.

Getting extensions are not that easy, like buying shoes. AND if you have problem styling your own hair, add hair extensions to the formula, it will be even harder to style when you have them.

People waste tons of money on extensions because it's the new trend. Without doing much research. Then, they come to YA HAIR and ask us questions on how to clip it on their hair, if they can go swimming, play sports, if they can dye or perm, etc. Do you think you'll have time for school, trying to put on hair extensions over 1 hour every morning? Then, they ruin it by dyeing to match their hair.

It's really not that simple! Then again, it will not work out if you have thin hair, the clip will be showing through! How embarrassing will that be, if it keeps falling out from your head, if it's not on right!?!
May 22, 2011: Model and businesswoman Katie Price, who was formerly topless model Jordan, is demanding compensation from a top Los Angeles hair salon after she spent $17,000 on hair colourings and extensions that she claims were botched, leaving her hair so damaged it began falling out.

Kate Gosselin got hers from a salon, and she was on the front cover of People magazine, but she HATED her hair!!!! Access Hollywood. She paid $7,000 for hers. Took 7 hours.

At the salon: 25-50 ($50-$100) extensions, they also have hidden costs, like monthly maintenance fees, one girl charge YA poster $248 more saying the salon put 120 extensions on her head, but she only counted 60. They are very charming!

Jessica Simpson & Paris Hilton don't even use their own hair extensions, plus they have stylists to do them in photo shoots or travel with them. Jessica was photographed, showing her clip-ons during a windy day.
EXAMPLES OF WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT their HAIR EXTENSIONS

I have sewn in hair extensions. My natural hair is neck-length, and these extensions are down to my chest. They're sewn in (if you didn't already know) with black tracks, while the hair is my natural hair colour: brown. But I want to have it up in a high-ish ponytail. But, obviously, the tracks are really obvious. How can I make them less obvious?
I hate having to have my hair down all the time. I've always wanted it, but now I'm getting bored. :/

I removed my hair extensions yesterday after 4 months. My hair is really thin does any1 no any good products to thicken it?

How much do real human hair extensions cost?

Manda

My hair is light brown or a dark dirty blond and I don't want to spend too much money. The cheaper the better. I also heard that you can get hair extensions put in at a hair salon and they last for like a year in your hair without falling out.Does anyone one know anything about those. How much do those cost? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Cheapest: 2/$5 @ Claire's.
Medium: Goodwill brand new Lux or Remy still in the package $5.99.
Most expensive: Prices range from $100 to $6,750.

I hate having to have my hair down all the time. I've always wanted it, but now I'm getting bored. :/

One example about glue in hair extensions:
And I use weaves, especially glued in weaves and it has really damaged my hair when it is time to take them out. It rips my hair especially on the sides. My hair is soooo thin on the sides, you can see my scalp and I have to either wear a hat or scarf just to cover it up. It's so embarrassing. My hair is naturally thin on the sides anyways but the glue made it worst. I wanted to know what are some hair care products to use so that my hair can grow back on the sides and all over.

One more ex:
I removed my hair extensions yesterday after 4 months. My hair is really thin does any1 no any good products to thicken it?

Another example: I'm really desperate on getting my hair back on track because I've been stupidly using clip-in extensions and because it ripped my hair out they are now becoming a necessity. This is really bugging me because I like to have my own hair and I really regret ever using them now.

And another ex:

How to grow hair faster and thicker?

best hair color to hide thinning hair

best hair color to hide thinning hair image

kaitlyn

I have shoulder length hair which is thin and can't do much with is there anything I can do to help it grow healthy and fast?

Answer
Here are the steps to those luscious locks:

1. GET RID OF ANY DAMAGE: If you have damaged hair (split ends caused from coloring and heat tools) get a trim (just tell your stylist that your trying to grow it out or you could get a split end shampoo and conditioner (i recommend Dove damage therapy intensive repair shampoo and conditioner)
2. DEEP CONDITION once a week I recommend Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner or a homemade treatment with COCONUT OIL. tutorial for coconut oil treatment: http://www.howdoesshe.com/coconut-oil-mo⦠if you don't have damaged hair just deep condition once a month.
3. HIDE YOUR HEAT TOOLS!! This one is going to be hard but heat styling can be very damaging to your hair even if you do use a heat protectant STAY OFF HEAT STYLING even if you do not have damaged hair (that's GREAT!) you will cause damage using heat tools. Try some heatless hairstyles!
4. TAKE YOUR VITAMINS! Vitamins can also help grow those long locks we all so much desire Vitamins like biotin, folic acid or you could take the hair, skin and nails vitamins for long hair and nails! (these vitamins can be found at walmart)
5. DO NOT BRUSH HAIR WHEN WET! Brushing your hair when it's wet can cause damage so just take a wide tooth comb and run it through your hair.
6. LAST TIP: DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY!! Washing your hair every day can strip your hair of it's natural oils. So just wash your hair every 4 days. (or 2 if it gets too dirty)

HOPE THESE TIPS HELPED!!!

Has anyone bought SKR hair extensions? How long did it take till you go them?

Madi

I just bought my first hair extensions last Sunday (the 30th of October). I heard Skr hair was a really fine quality product. I want to know is it really as good as they say and how long did it take before you received them? I know the site says 10 buisness days but i also heard that some people got them a day early? Did you get yours a day early and if you dyed it was it still soft and thick and look somewhat normal?

If you live in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, Texas or San Diego and you wear hair extensions made by Remy, it COULD have been from a stolen beauty store and are sold for much more! It's also possible they're being sold ONLINE.

So I just got a job at a movie theatre and one supervisor (the only one that noticed or cared) said I cannot have my pink highlights. Well, I don't want to dye them back to my brown hair color, so how can I hide them? They are only 6 highlights at the very bottom of my hair and are very thin too. You can only tell I have them when I'm wearing a pony tail which I have to for work. What can I do? Also, they are a super light pink color too.

Answer
Put your hair in a bun instead of a ponytail.

Example taken from YA HAIR - thinning hair
My natural hair was just past my shoulders. I had 16 inch glue in extensions put in and kept them for about 3 weeks. I took them out two days ago, and not only does my scalp still hurt (it feels as if I ripped out pieces of my natural hair...), but my hair is also SIGNIFICANTLY thinned and slightly shorter.

I've done some research and I've found that glue in extensions can do this to your natural hair. Aside from constantly wearing my clip in extensions...what can I do to restore my natural hair back to it's original thickness? Is there anything else I can do?
