Does hair colour matter to men?

Lauren

I'm a natural brunette but I dye my hair blonde because it suits my fair colouring better and brings out my green eyes - I never tan or anything like that (I'm the same skin tone as my naturally blonde friends) therefore I don't look 'fake'. However, I hear a lot of guys saying that blonde women always look easy and brunettes are marriage material. I'm definitely not an easy person and I want to be in a long lasting relationship, but at the same time I don't want to change just so I don't get judged because I know I look best as a blonde. Do men REALLY believe that hair colour determines the person, even when half of the time it's not even natural?
I feel the need to add that I'm intelligent and always dress in a way that's classy and doesn't show too much. There is nothing that would be judged negatively by most people except my hair colour because of how society portrays it.

Answer
Appearance is a major factor in finding a partner. This is sad, but it is true. When you look at someone you see what they look like not their personality.

Just because some guys do not like a particular colour of hair, eye, skin and all the other attributes, doesn't mean every guy will dislike. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, just like you.

Your appearance should make you feel happy and confident. Forget what others, and just be who you want to be. But remember, don't lose the "real" you.

Some men color all their hair including facial hair to look younger. Which do you prefer?

Sachie

A. Total coloring and coverage
B. Coloring with a hint of gray or white left on the edges
C. No coloring at all - remains natural
D. Other?

Answer
About 80% if the time, well kept facial hair is attractive on men, in my own oppinion.

I'm just getting to the age (late 20's) where the guys I'm dating are starting to go gray. There are fewer things that I find more attractive than a little bit of natural gray! It looks mature, and it looks like the guy wearing the gray face-fur is ok with looking mature. Not only would I think it silly if I found out some one I was dating (in late 20's to mid 30's, usualy) colored their hair, I would think that it was vain and I would be slightly put off by it. I don't want to date some one who's trying to look younger than they actually are...it usualy means they'll also behave younger than they actually are, and I don't want to put up with that.

My mom's boyfriend (50 years old) is mostly grey, both light and dark. For a while he was kicking around the idea of coloring all of his hair on his head. I'm not sure how my mother talked him out of it, but I'm so glad she did!

If you really have that much of a problem with graying face hair, just shave it off. Almost all of the time a man looks better with a clean face than with a face that has fake color on it. The ONLY exception to this is if the man is one of those guys without a jaw-line, and he uses his face hair to mark where his jaw should be. In that case ONLY I'd say coloring the hair so it was similar to the hair on your head would be ok. I would recomend that the first time or two you get it done at a salon though, and ask them for some tips and tricks with coloring.

hair coloring help?

mickeyc

i used just for men in my hair.is there a way to rinse the color out completely

Answer
Just for Men is a semi-permanent hair color designed to enhance grey hair without changing your own natural color. It is designed to wash away over a period of time (about 6 weeks) but if you wash your hair three to four times it may be effective enough to reduce the appearance of color.
You can also try a baking soda scrub for the hair.
1/2 Cup baking soda
Enough shampoo to make a paste with the baking soda
Make the paste and wet your hair. Apply the baking soda paste to your hair and give it a good scrub. It will feel a bit like sandpaper, but it won't harm your scalp or hair at all, it simply removes "residue" and build up of hair products.
Hope this helps

please do not bring in anything having to do to talking to the man, this is solely based on sight as if you've never seen the person before, like a lineup. tell me what hair color you find more attractive on a guy and what you're hair color is etc... why you think certain hair colors on men are more attractive, thanks.

Answer

What is the difference between men's and women's hair color (dye)? Any reason a man can't use women's color?

Socal Bong

Just for Men hair color and comparable products are usually $7 - $8 while women's hair color products are often on sale for under $5.

Is there really a difference in men's and women's products or any reason that a man should not use women's hair color?

The only reason I consider doing it is cost. Seems like it would be no difference in the result but since there are so many more women's products on the market there is greater price competition and therefore far cheaper prices.

Answer
There is no difference. Men can certainly use women's hair coloring kits. Hope you find the shade you want!

Do they make shampoo-in hair color for men that is NOT formulated for gray hair?

ohfack

I want to dye my hair a darker shade of brown, but i want to be able to shampoo it in and I don't have enough money to get it professionally done.

I know that Just For Men makes color for gray hair color, but I have no gray hair.

Answer
If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply store near you, go there or any other beauty supply store. They have cosmetologists working there who can help you. Here are some of the Sally's men's hair color products http://www.sallybeauty.com/hair-color-for-men/Hair05-08,default,sc.html

Good luck.

It is the ones where the daughter helps him put a tie on then says he'll do great at his job then hands him the just for men hair color. Then when he gets back they hug. I don't know I think a wife would be a better character, not a daughter. It creeps me out everytime.

What is the best hair coloring product for men?

zoehommie

I keep my hair short on the sides so i need a product that I can buy and be able to use a couple of times. If I buy just for men they give you one application but I end up wasting so much. Plus it doesn't work all that great on the sides of my temples. I still see gray hairs. Can anyone tell me of a good hair color product that won't leave any grays? maybe one for women I'm not sure. Please provide links if you can thanks

Answer
i just use food dye. works good and it is so cheap. pink is easy for me because i have premature white hair. last month, it was blue.
