Answer
Keep hair down-it gives a nice youthful look and in teenage years, it's a classic look

make up-i could recommend a really subtle peach/pink colour for the eyes-brings out the colour of the eyes. If not, there's a great palette for eyes by Bobbi Brown which consists of different brown tones (23 pounds ish?)

Enhance the eyes with liquid liner on the top lid to make a cat eye look and black mascara. (if liquid liner is too difficult to use-especially in a hurry, I'd recommend a black smoky eyeliner pencil-something from MAC-12 pounds ish-great products)
Also the eyeliner pencil is good for the bottom lid of the eye.
To make the eyes look bigger; put the eyeliner on the bottom lid of the eye at the bit where the bottom eyelashes meet the eye.
Also white eye pencil by the inner corners of the eyes (or a nice silver/white colour from the Body Shop's shimmer cubes-4 coloured shimmer cubes-I think they're like 12 pounds)
If you want to make the eye smaller-use the black eyeliner pencil on the inner bit of the bottom eye-slightly above where the eyelashes meet the eye.

cheeks-BeneFit's high beam-just 3 dots on the tops of the cheekbones (and blend into the cheek) helps give that fresh youthful look. Alternative: Bobbi Brown shimmer brick

lips-keep a subtle pink colour. You could also try a nude colour as nude is in at the moment.

If you're too busy and this look is too much for everyday, then keep it simple; black mascara for the eyes, cheeks-BeneFit Dallas cheek powder (goes great with most skintones) and nude lip colour

If these are too expensive products; Maybelline, L'oreal, Rimmel and I think Lancome? range from 7 pounds to 15 pounds I think. Anyway, they have a good selection of colours for the eyes. The eye mousse from Maybelline is easy to apply. I highly recommend the maybelline great lash mascara as it doesn't clump. But BeneFit's Bad Gal mascara is great for big over the top eyelashes (depending on how many layers of mascara you want to coat your eyelashes)
I know Bobbi Brown is really expensive but alternatively; instead of the shimmer brick, The Body Shop has a similar shimmer brick for less-15 pounds ish-although it's quite expensive; it's not as expensive as BeneFit and Bobbi Brown) and they say that it contains pretty much the same thing as the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick 28 pounds ish I think or even 35 pounds I think.
Speaking of the Body Shop; they've got great products for lips and eye shadows and they're animal friendly too (ie. don't test animals). The Body Shop also do free makeovers so if you're not sure, then ask an assistant to help you. The only downside; based on personal experiences, make sure you know exactly how you want it to look. Because I tried this shimmery stuff and it was great but in small amounts and this lady who did my makeover put too much for me to handle! Customer care; the people are really genuinely friendly.

BeneFit makeovers can be found in places such as Debenhams and other big London stores. Their makeovers are free but you can also book a time. The people I've come across there are helpful and friendly.

MAC is great for colours. If there's a particular colour you're looking for; MAC has a humongous selection. I think they too give free makeovers but the people I've come across working there are quite stuck up and snobbish so make sure you know what you want before you try something on.

Clothes-for young girls 17 and above-Stores I recommend:

H & M (cheap but fashionable and practical clothing-great bargains during sales)
Topshop (suit many styles and tastes of people-not too expensive-and great for everyday wear/casual wear-great bargains during sales-they had a vintage section but it's gone now at the store I go to :(
There's even a 'Top Man' which is part of this store which has men's stuff so that's great for prezzies for the guys.
French Connection-has stuff ranging from casual to glam. A bit like the warehouse-quite expensive
The Gap-quite expensive-but great for sweaters and jeans and cute tops for a fresh spring look.
Miss Selfridges-casual and dress up wear. Good value too. Quite long lasting.
The Warehouse-again, suits many styles like Topshop but has nice evening stuff. Look out for bargains and mid season sales.
New Look-bargains are really cheap especially if there's a popular style and you can't find it at other places (because of prices) New Look is a good place to turn to to find it. Quite expensive for the clothing range that is being sold at the time. Best bet to buy during sale time to be honest.
Monsoon-(quite expensive-great for dresses for social events and have gowns
Zara-great fashionable clothing for quite a good price-(again-sale time is a great time for bargain hunters)-has great classic and dressy outfits, great young stuff-jeans and same kind of stuff you'd find in H & M but not as tacky as some of the other stores. As well as that it's most likely to be last long.

Accessories:
Accessorize-is a chain store of Monsoon. Great tidbits, like purses and jewellery and glam stuff. Great for gifts for girl friends, kids, and guy friends/boyfriend.
Claire's-if it's a particular style you're looking for and you're not wearing again-it's a good store; very cheap but fun.

I hope this all was useful :)

Hair Color Tips/Opinion?

Q. Hi there

I have been thinking about coloring my hair but dont really know where to start.

Here is a quick background info: Born blonde and up until about 10 years old i was very blonde, then puberty must have kicked in and decided to change my hair to brown which is what it is now. I just think its kind of dark and dull and wouldnt mind lighting it up a bit with blonde or a lighter brown perhaps.

Ok first of all in your opinion would i suit going blonde from the current picture. Or perhaps a lighter brown. [ http://www.st18x.com/images/signatures/ryan.jpg ] Thats my current hair style and color.

If yes, should i do it myself? are there any tips for this... i have tried it once years ago and my hair ended up an orange color. Did i not leave it in long enough?

Or should i get it professionally done, what do i ask them to do?

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Ryan

Answer
it looks fine as it is. i dont think blonde would suit you, but if you really want to change ur color, perhaps go a little lighter but not blonde.
btw; u probably didnt leave it long enough. did u wait 30 min? if u did, then maybe u should consider a professional. u wouldnt want to end up with orange hair again :)

u remind me of matt dallas in that pic lol.

but yeah u look fine with brown hair.

What would make me over (Hair, Color, Glasses. ect)?

.

I'm 15. I'm not asking this question because I'm looking for attention. I know I'm not the prettiest color in the rainbow either. I just need to change my look, I've had it for years, and just want to feel pretty. Do you have any suggestions, hair color (I was thinking I would change my hair to blonde in the summer), Glasses, and a new hair cut. Thank you so much.
P.S In the picture, I have absolutely NO makeup on.

Answer
For hair, maybe you can get side bangs. I think it'll look good on you. :)

If you decide on going blonde, maybe try a blonde, like this:

I also think you would look good if you dyed it red, like these:

Black is an option, too:

For glasses, the ones you have are okay. Maybe get thicker, more rectangular ones, like these, if you want something new:

I think you can even rock the big nerdy ones, if you wanted to :)

http://www.ragehats.com/images/stories/nerd_glasses.jpg

And I guess some light makeup, like lipgloss, eyeliner, and mascara. You look good natural. It's just somedays us girls want to feel really attractive, right? Makeup can easily do that. :)

Remember, also. The majority of attractiveness comes from confidence. Confidence is what is beautiful. Sounds cliche, but it's true. Smile, be happy with who you are, and you'll notice others wanting to be around you.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your makeover!  :D

Can the American Girl Place in LA or Dallas change a dolls eye color?

best hair color dallas image
Q. We're visiting LA and won't be back for a while and I want a doll, but all of them either have the rong eye or hair color- I would like it to be where they look like me :) Can they like put in new eye balls or something after you buy the doll?

Answer
The AG hospital refuses to do so, but I do have some advice for getting the doll of your dreams. Buy a doll with the eye colour you want, and the face shape that you like. Then, find a wig online and rewig her.
Link for a great wig site: rubyredgalleria.com

Link for how to rewig your AG doll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnNAfGxpgQY

Then sell your old wig, still in perfect condition, on ebay. You can probably get 20-30 dollars for it. People want authentic AG wigs in good condition.

Salons Boutique on the corner of Plano Parkway and Park Boulevard has the greatest stylists and certified colorists I ever seen.

Ask for Designs by Kathy or also ask for the guy across from her.
