Get it cut a medium length, about 3 to 4 inches, and style it combed forward, messy, side swept or fauxhawkish--(fauxhawks are little out of style but still cool), or whatever's simple and stylish. Try to make sure you don't grow your hair out too much, though, because it can look kind of sloppy after a certain point, especially if it starts getting below your eyes.
Another thing to do, (which is totally up to you), would be to grow some hair out in front near your ears, (in the same spot where sideburns typically are) about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. It makes your hair look fuller and more trendy. Just make sure you don't get full sideburns! :P
Considering you're a male teen who wants longer hair, make sure you shampoo and condition on a regular basis... otherwise it'll get sloppy and greasy... blagh.
If you have poofy, curly, or frizzy hair, then get some hair styling gel or cream in the men's section. Flat ironing is an option, too.
Hope I helped and good luck :)
