how do i stop my hair from falling out (female)?

Lilly

i've got very thin hair as it is, but recently more and more has been coming out, especially when washing (i wash every 3rd day). huge clumps of hair come out during and after the wash (ie when i comb it).
i use organic shampoo and conditioner (so it doesn't have lots of chemicals in), and rarely blow dry. i never brush my hair when it's wet, i always comb, and i don't ever straighten/curl my hair.
what might i be doing wrong? might it be dietry? also what can i do to promote hair growth to make my hair thicker?
thanks

Answer
"i use organic shampoo and conditioner (so it doesn't have lots of chemicals in),"

In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.

Don't believe the hype: "For skin care products, 'organic is not enough,. Some organic products are fabulous, and some are not." ~ Dr. Lisa Chipps , M.D. specializes in removing skin cancer & repairing the resultant wound (laser therapy whiz) in Rodeo Drive.
"Organic skin care products are trendy, but that does not mean nonorganic ones are dangerous," Wendy E. Roberts, M.D. past president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.

Dove hairfall facts:
1. Humidity makes hair dry and brittle, leading to hairfall
2. Colouring the hair damages the hair strands leading to breakage
3. Pollution is also an unseen killer of healthy hair
4. Tangled hair is the most common reason for hair fall
5. While shampooing cleanses your hair, regular conditioning is required for adequate moisturization. Regular use of conditioner post shampoo also solves the problem of entangling which is the major cause of hairfall.

HEAT & CHEMICALS are hair's worst enemies. You've got any of those on your hair?
Supplements, medications, anti-acne products, hair oil, birth control pills, pollution in the water, to name just a few . . . ALL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS. Watch the movie called SIDE EFFECTS. Example: "I used minoxidil drug to restore the hair on my head; however, I ended up with unwanted body hair. I don't know if it is temporary or I have to seek medical treatment." YA poster 9-27-12. Any reactions to a drug - like Vitamin B complex which is a supplement - 'side effect' is a negative reaction to a drug - this is your body telling you that what you just gave it is toxic to it, and instead of helping you, it is actually hurting you.  It is your body's way of telling you to stop.  All drugs have side effects, and are toxic...even lethal...to some people at some dosage.  Another term for toxic is poisonous.  We owe it to ourselves to try less toxic treatments first.  Especially since too many drugs merely cover up symptoms rather than treat the underlying cause of the symptom in the first place. Another example: Green Tea supplement: Green tea extract supplements have been linked to several cases of liver damage. Green tea extracts might make liver disease worse.

NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. .

What color should I dye my hair?

Q. I have a pale skin tone and I want a grunge look. Ok so think Frances Bean. Same skin tone. Love her hair! When it's blonde. But the thing is, I don't want it blonde. I tried doing the ombre thing at home but I ruined it x(
I don't want to go to a salon. I cut my own hair as well as dye it. I'm thinking about dying it red. But it's hard to manage. I'm just stuck! Any ideas?

Answer
Pale skin often looks good with Dark browns or blacks, Rangas/oranges and bright reds.

Red hair is VERY hard to maintain, i warn you, but it looks AMAZING! If you go for a red, i suggest you touch it up about every 4 weeks. Or just whenever it starts to fade. Also, red is a bugger to get out, and will take a long time to get rid of when you want to change again. :)
Good luck.
