Yay for style interventions!
So, for clothes, I would check out your local thrift stores ( goodwill, stuff like that) also check out urban outfitters, american apparel, and h&m.
For everything else, in order to get that artsy-hipster vibe you have to actually know that kind of stuff, other wise you'll appear to be almost a poser. Listen to indie music, learn more about high fashion. Once you do that, everything else will come to place. here are my fave inspiration blogs:

Help with story and characters?

Ok, so this will need to be quick, bedtime's soon.

I am writing a story about 5 kids in High School, but it's not your average HSM type thing. I want a big and dangerous event to take place, please, nothing spiritual/supernatural/remotely un-human, I was thinking more along the lines of crime, conspiracies etc. But everything I think of is so dumb, cliched and babyish sounding, it is literally unreal. Can you please throw out a few ideas for what might happen?

And also, my characters have all been worked out but only 3 of them have names! I am stuggling to think of names that suit the character without being totally predictable or so unique they belong in a fantasy book. Can you help? Here they are:

1. A girl, 15 y.o, freshman in HS. Is quite short and has dark brown hair and blue eyes. Isn't really into fashion, but not one of those I-will-wear-the-dress-if-I-can-wear-my-trainers-too type girls. Gets nervous in crowds and with strange people, but when with friends/family is quite tough and a bit sarcastic too. Thinks logically (not optimist, not pessimist) but worries that her political-correctness comes across as negativity.

2. Girl 15 y.o, also freshman. Has black hair and purple contacts (her eyes are really brown- she's half American, half Japanese). Has an individual style, and although people think she's weird for it, she couldn't give a *beep* what they think. Is quite sassy and sarcastic, and sometimes her attitude gets in the way when she is talking to people. Always tries to think positive, and this sometimes leads to her disappointment.

3. As character 2 would put it, "he's a basketball player. Putting emphasis on 'player' ". It's true, he's "in it for the girls, man, y'know"? Has short brown hair, brown eyes. Prides himself on being quite manly, and teases other boys who do "girl stuff" like music, drama, dance, cooking etc. He may seem totally perdictable, but he has hidden depths. Way, way, WAY deep down.

4. He has all the right moves, notes and a good heart- he just don't know it yet. Well, when your'e supposedly dating the richest prettiest (not to mention snobbiest and meanest) girl in the year (try SCHOOL) you don't get to discover yourself. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and likes to dress differently from the others, but apparently "not weird".

I need 1st and surnames for all 4, please, plus a surname for a girl named Sierra (v spoilt and snobby too).

Surnames for 4 teachers
And 3 snobby girl's 1st names only.

PLEASE do NOT answer if you are going to say "do it yourself!" I tried! 5 stars best answer!
